I've been a customer of LensCrafters for about 4-5 years. I'm a senior citizen, I carry excellent vision insurance, and I consistently purchase high-end frames and premium progressive lenses, often costing over $1,000 per pair. The problem is not just delays--the problem is complete lack of communication and professionalism. My eye exam was on January 9, 2026. I returned on July 9 to purchase my glasses. Weeks went by with zero contact. No call. No text. No email. Nothing. By the end of the month, I had to call them just to find out what was going on with my glasses. Whatever the issue was--lab delay, insurance, internal mistakes--is not the point. The point is basic courtesy and accountability. When a customer spends this kind of money on prescription eyewear, they should not be left in the dark wondering if their order even exists. Under the current management, this place feels disorganized, poorly run, and dismissive toward customers. The staff handling orders now clearly lacks attention to detail, and customer service has taken a serious downturn. This is not how a professional optical business should operate, and it is absolutely not how repeat or senior customers should be treated. Exam was great however, the Receptionist has a bad attitude. I've been a patient here for years and I've never paid any additional fees. Receptionist lied and said I have paid this "co pay" charge in the past , but she would have waived the charge if I had never paid before. My bank app proved I have never been charged. She said she made a mistake when I asked her to show me where I paid before. Then she said it's not really a co pay. Very argumentative, unprofessional and a bad look for this clinic. The customer service was poor, the receptionist had a bad attitude, the optometrist Dr. Moses also had a bad attitude. He said if I didn't take the retinal photos then he wasn't going to do the eye exam. He offered no other choices to help, he only gave an ultimatum. Then he mentioned glaucoma during the eye exam as if there was glaucoma in the eyes. There is no glaucoma, he took his glaucoma speciality too far. The man is obsessed with glaucoma and this caused stress in the eye exam. I'm going to have to get a second opinion on the eye prescription because Dr. Moses did not seem competent. read more

Customer Service sucks, a short man with glasses yelled at me, he seemed to be having a bad day, or over whelmed with business. Either way not professional. We payed for 2 lenses and only received one. Than the man who finally assisted us kept calling us by the wrong name, he didn't listen or pay attention to anything we said even though we spelled the last name for him 3 times. read more

I had an old pair of sunglasses with relatively new Lenscrafters lenses. A temple broke. The manager helped me locate a vintage pair of frames to purchase from Ebay to avoid having to replace my entire pair. They put my lenses in the new frame for free in 10 minutes. This place is great! I needed my glasses tightened and it was an in-and-out, seamless experience! All the employees were beyond helpful when I first bought the glasses last year, and they've stayed true to their word that I could come in whenever I need to get the frames tightened or the lenses cleaned. SLOW service!!!! That is my only issue!!! I have never had an eye exam appointment take 2 hours to complete. They were not that crowded to even justify why the wait time was so long. I think they could see the irritation and tiredness on my face. Then, they have the nerve to take walk ins. No, no, no. This is not the place for that. Dr. DiLeo is a nice man, although he seems more straight to the point and less talkative than usual. The rest of the staff is super friendly and helpful. It's so sad because that place has the perfect staff but my appointment moved slower than any other exams (I was a patient at the Lens Crafter's in the Esplanade Mall). I have two pairs of glasses, and was tired of going from regular to the prescription sunglasses. I went there a few weeks ago, in hopes that the transitions would resolve the issue. The staff, Leah and Brooke in particular, was understanding of my hopes, and helped me in every way I could ever hope for. I picked like... 10 pairs.... and once we whittled them down to two, we went with a gorgeous gradient burgundy to teal. When they arrived, I loved them. By the time I got home, they hadn't transitioned, which I found curious. Apparently Transition Gen 8's don't transition behind a windshield. Long story short, I went back in to the store, we tried out some of the Transition XTRActive, but they weren't dark enough to not squint. Darrin, the manager, and I sat down and discussed my options, but after everything was said and done, he reminded me they have a 30 Day Guarantee, so I got a full refund. I can't recommend them enough. Great selection, great staff. read more

The doctor side of this LensCrafters was quick and easy to work with. However, I would NOT recommend ordering glasses from the retail side of this store. I have been waiting for my simple prescription glasses order for 18 days, and they are telling me that it's going to be another five days before my glasses are ready to be picked up. 23 days for one pair of eyeglasses is ridiculous. read more

I have to say this is the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Bought a new pair of glasses with frames 6 months ago and after 4 months I noticed cracks in the lenses at the corners which looked like stress fractures. When I brought them in they said they have never seen this before. Luckily I had bought the extended warranty so they replaced the lenses for $25. Well after a month it happens again and when I brought them in they treated me like it was my fault. I don't shop at Walmart and not sure what possessed me to shop here. I have been wearing glasses for 35 years and should have know better. Don't be fooled just because they're in the mall and convenient to get to. You will be sorry. read more

WAIT TIME: I have been coming to Dr. DiLeo & LensCrafters since they were at the Esplanade location. It wasn't as busy at Esplanade because Esplanade was a legit ghost town mall. Ever since Lenscrafters moved to Lakeside (a VERY BUSY mall), the service time is a lot longer. I had an appointment at 12:00 and was still waiting until 4:00. So I wouldn't schedule an appointment with the eye doctor here unless you have the entire day to waste. SERVICE: The people who work here are great. They are very helpful and patient. The LensCrafters sales lady helped me save over $100 with some extra digging and work. Doctor's office assistants are very helpful too. OVERALL: Honestly they might need more employees or doctors to help make up for the expanded customer base. read more

When I called they told me that they had nothing book from 2-4:00 so I booked for all 5 of us to get an appt..I even told the receptionist that I had an appt for 5:00 pm..she said that is plenty of time for me to make it to my next appt. We got here at 1:40pm and filled out all the paperwork. The tech saw us and did all our workup. We finally saw the eye doctor at 3:10. When I asked the receptionist does she think we will be down by 4:00 she said the paper that I filled out stated that the appt aren't always guaranteed. That really helps when AFTER we make all the appts!! They should have said that when we made the appt. read more

Horrible. My previous experiences with Dr. DiLeo were great, as with the department for getting the glasses made was wonderful. This time around, not so much. I am thinking that the difference was with insurance versus paying out of pocket. When I paid out of pocket, they were all wonderful. This time, when I actually have a job that I can get vision insurance and have it, they were HORRIBLE. It was easy enough to make the appointment, and I wanted to get contacts this time around. After having done some research, I walked in expecting to have to get my eyes dilated, as it had been a more than a few years since I had that done. The doctor's statement was that he did not believe in the recommendations from anywhere and did not believe in dilating the pupils. Ok. I don't get that, but I will roll with not having to deal with that pain. Examining my eyes, he kept making comments about how contacts aren't for everyone, and he doesn't suggest them for anyone over 35. Really? I know many people over the age of 35 with contacts. And he stressed during the whole "which is better? A or B?" he kept stressing that I did not really need to know what letter I was looking at, or if it was legible, just which was more clear. I did not have to read anything. I was then ushered into another room where one of the two gals sitting at the receptionist desk came in, did not wash her hands, grabbed some contacts, wrenched my head back, holding each of my eyes open, just puts the contacts in and asked me to look around. I was ushered back to the doctor, where he looked at them, said they were a good fit, then showed me back to the other room where gal #1 took the lenses out. Gal #2 from the receptionist desk came in, sat across from me and I was instructed to put the lenses in myself. She played on her phone the entire time and kept making unpleasant noises with her mouth and saying how I was doing it wrong, but gave no useful advice on how to put contact lenses in the proper way. Finally the doctor comes in and says its time to check out and I can not take the lenses with me to practice with at home, because if they let everyone do it, they would not be able to maintain a stock in the office. Excuse me? I was using lenses other people had used? In the end I had to pay the full price despite having insurance because "I was incompetent". I have filed a claim with my insurance company and am working with them to get an appointment elsewhere. As I was paying, they handed me a prescription for glasses. I walked out and two gals were standing on the eyeglasses side of the store whispering to each other, looking at me and laughing. As I was walking by, one called out asking if I was ready to pick out my glasses and laughed when they noticed I was crying. It takes a lot for me to cry, let alone in public. I have not been so humiliated in a looooong time. I would suggest anyone not come here unless it is a dire emergency. This was just not good. read more

This is the second time I've gone to this to LensCrafters and they've added charges to my invoice without my consent or even discussing them with me! This is SO frustrating and it will probably be the last time I ever do business with them. There should be a level of integrity displayed with a business such as this and clearly it isn't. The representative (who was all over the place) originally quoted me $380 for and when I got to the register the price changed to almost $800. After I questioned her, she made some changes and the price went down but it still was not the last total we had previously discussed. After I did all of the paperwork, I asked for the itemized receipt and saw a protection plan was added unbeknownst to me. I asked the representative what it was and she said that they usually just add it on. I asked "did we discuss this though"? And she asked if I wanted it or not. I said I would not like anything I haven't been advised on. (AND.. This should've been asked prior to being added to my bill.) Then she said well I can refund it. As she was doing that it was taking entirely too long and my anxiety could not allow me to stand there and wait. I asked for a supervisor and the representative said is there a problem? And began trying to explain the product she added without my consent. I told her to not even worry about the refund since it was taking so long and she got me in touch with the manager who was really sweet and forgiving. However, I am just truly disgusted that this is the second time this has happened at the SAME location. I have never felt taken advantage of by a company until I came here. read more

I love lenscrafters cause usually you are a no nonsense place. but you need to hire more staff. this is the only one I have ever been to that is short handed. it shows. you have one person who has their stuff together, and she is forced to handle everyone including your employees. she is a saint. but seriously... hire more help for her. you cannot be paying her enough to handle this clusterf...... didn't meet the doctor. already had a script from lenscrafters out of state. so I just used my insurance to reorder a new pair. new employees don't follow protocol either. I hate trying to find new doctors, of any kind, and I feel like I just won the lottery. I only picked Lenscrafters because I figured they'd have the largest selection of frames and didn't even give a thought to what the doctor would be like. Usually when I see an eye doctor it's a quick "which one is better, one or two?" and then they hand me the prescription. End of story. When I saw Dr. Dileo, he explained everything very thoroughly and told me things about my eye health that no other doctor had bothered to. He took his time, was thorough, and I feel like that quality is hard to find in any doctor these days. I appreciated it. I loved the fact that they wer able to estimate my out of pocket cost right when I made my appointment. They took into consideration my insurance and told me what my approximate total would be with the exam and an order of lenses. That was awesome. I had an appointment at 3, but didn't see the doctor until 3:45. That was annoying, but considering all of the other pluses, I disregarded it. Overall, this was the best eye exam I've ever had (with almost 20 years of eye exams behind me). read more

My son gets his glasses here and I find them always helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure his prescription would work with his Oakley's. He plays baseball and not a lot of places will work with fitting the Oakley's you bring in. read more

I've bought 2 pairs of glasses at Lenscrafters every year for the last 5-6 years. Up to $800 a year..this last time both pairs came back with vosible markings on the lenses..they said all progressive lenses have them. None of my previous ones showed the markings. They offered to remake, when they were ready, i brought glasses back to have the new lenses put in. They pretended they did. I know, because exact same smudges were still on the lenses. Waited over an hour past my scheduled appt time, then left waiting in an exam room for 45 more minutes. Dr. DiLeo could learn some manners. I found him rude and unapologetic when I asked about the wait. After the way he treated me, I decided to take my prescription elsewhere. A week later I got my new glasses only to discover that the prescription he wrote was completely wrong. I had to pay for another exam and new lenses when the new Dr. discovered that the prescription I received was the exact opposite of what I needed. Poor customer service and incompetent care. I have been going there for several years and in my opinion of all the different eye doctors I've been to - Dr Dileo is the best. I've had glass prescriptions filled at other places and have had many problems. When I went to him that all changed. I could actually see better and with more clarity and have NEVER had a problem there. I highly recommend him and was referred to him by someone I know that sold contact lenses to different ophthalmologists and he was very highly recommended!! read more

It takes me a lot to write a review. I visited this location when it was still at the Esplanade Mall. I got my exam there with a female doctor and she was great. I went in a week later, and they had moved to Lakeside. It was hot. Very hot. Then another doctor took me back (AN HOUR after my appointment time) and re-did the entire exam. Not sure what the whole point was for that. Anyway, I come in a week later so they can see if the contact lenses will work for me. They are having a 50% opening store discount on all glasses. I asked an associate to check on an estimate for me. He does...or doesn't? Because he immediately starts helping someone else. When I go back to my appointment, they take me in AN HOUR AFTER my initial appointment time. It's very hot. When I go back to the doctor's, he says that my file has been lost. Lost. He asks me if the contacts are ok. I say yes. He says, we'll call you. 5 minutes. Waited an hour. I have worked in retail. This was completely unacceptable. I had an incredible experience at the Lens Crafter in Baton Rouge. This one, not at all. Very disappointed and once I buy my contacts, I will not be going back. read more

I had a broken frame beyond repair on New Years day, no-one was open and if they were it was skeleton, newbie crews (or severely dehydrated ones, lol). The very nice lady- Alexandria, happened to be working, she said if I could make it there asap they'd do what they could do. I'm an hour and change away so I made my way there double time. She examined the glasses gave them to her colleague in a white jacket (very serious) and he examined. The strategy was for me to purchase another frame and they would modify lens to fit. Not as easy as it sounds. I picked a pair and the lab guy had it whipped within an hour. Now this was a freak occurrence and I needed glasses for impending flight. They were not only professional, they were critical thinkers. I was beyond pleased. This is the only LC with an in-house lab nearby. Even if the end were they couldn't do anything, I would still write this as a 5-star place because I know they exhausted all possibilities to help me. In return I've taken 3 other people way out of their locale to get glasses here 8-) read more

I had a fantastic experience here. As soon as I walked in, Ash greeted me and asked what she could help me with. I explained that I already had a prescription, and needed glasses the same day because I had come down with conjunctivitis. She got my prescription going right away, explained different types of lenses and the differences in cost, and pointed me towards the women's frames. She also took the time to explain and show me the differences in prices with their sale vs. my insurance. Although she joked that my glasses would take "6 hours," they were scheduled to be done in 1 hour - possibly sooner because the store was slow. 15 minutes later I got a text from LensCrafters that they were ready! As soon as I walked back in, another employee approached and greeted me while Ash was with another customer, and she handed me my glasses. Quick, friendly, professional service! I was looking to replace a specific set of frames that I had lost when I visited this store. I went out of my way for it because of the great AAA discount (30% off!!!). They didn't have my frames in stock but happily placed a special order for me and said they should arrive in the next few days, at which point I would receive a call. A week later, without any word from the store, I called to find out the status of my order. The associate I spoke to simply told me they hadn't come in yet and they'd call when they did. When I asked what sort of time frame we were looking at, he checked again. At this point a manager got on the phone to tell me the frames were unavailable and the order had been canceled (unbeknownst to me). She then asked if I'd like a refund or to select something else, at which point I opted for the refund. I understand that merchandise can go out of stock or be discontinued, but I would have expected that information the day after my purchase at the latest. Had I not called, Lenscrafters would still be holding on to my $100 for who knows how long until they decided to give me a call. This is pertaining to the Optometrist I scheduled an appointment with, not the people who work in the eye glass shop, they are wonderful. I had an appointment at 2:30, showed up 5 minutes early, and was made to put on the thickest mask I've ever seen. All restrictions are lifted, and I'm vaccinated, but they insist that you wear a mask, and a type that's called a laser mask... it's about a 6 ply thing, the most uncomfortable thing you've ever worn as a mask. I proceed to wait for 45 minutes, and there's still one guy ahead of me, and in the 45 minutes I've waited, only one person got taken back, so I figured I had at least 30 or more minutes to wait. This isn't an ER, or a place that experiences delays due to emergencies, etc... they're just SUPER SLOW, and should schedule accordingly. HERE'S THE KICKER..... I leave, go get in my car, and just happened to be parked near the rear of the store, and the Optometrist was standing outside smoking a cigarette. Not only do I refuse to be kept waiting so somebody can go smoke, I wouldn't trust any health professional who is so stupid that they would smoke!!!! Take your business elsewhere... read more

My husband and I are Lenscrafters customers in the city where we live, and our local store is only so-so. Great exam, products are fine, but they are slow...no chance for anything in "about an hour". That said, we had a really fantastic experience with the Lenscrafters in Kenner, LA while vacationing in New Orleans. A couple of days into our vacation, my husband's glasses frame (which was several years old) broke right in half right at the bridge. He doesn't see well at all without them. Fortunately we were able to find the Kenner, LA store, which was only about 10 miles from where we were in NOLA. We called and they were able to access all of his information in their computer, so we drove to the store. We thought he would have to get new lenses and frame, and we asked for whatever lenses they would have in stock that would work with his prescription, and proceeded to look at frames. Then one of the staff realized they had my husband's frame in stock right in the store, so we didn't need to replace his perfectly fine lenses after all! They popped his lenses in the new frame, adjusted them, and we were on our way. Thank you so much to the young guy from Little Rock who was there temporarily and to the manager (Troy I think) who both helped us courteously and efficiently, and saved our vacation. We didn't see the doctor at this location, but the staff is definitely top notch. read more
