I scheduled an exam for 10/26/2024 at Lens Crafters in Lakeland Florida. I confirmed Dr. Diya Abuaita was an in-network provider with EyeMed. I received a call confirming my attendance and to let me know that Dr. Abuaita will refuse to do my eye exam unless I agree to pay $35.00 for a retinal scan. Lens Crafters canceled my appointment. This is not just immoral, but it is highly unethical for any provider let alone Dr. Diya Abuaita who is in network to refuse to see you if you refuse a test outside of what is covered by insurance. read more

I have been a customer of LensCrafters off and on for decades and this particular one had excellent customer service. I first came in to set a doctors appointment and to just look around. The workers were polite and helpful. When we came back, after the doctor's appointment, my husband and I were shown the new way of shopping for glasses during a pandemic. You carry a small tray with you: frames you tried on and like on one side, frames you do not like on the other. (Tip: For best selection of frames, get there first thing in the morning when all are sterilized. Later, when they are busy, they cannot sterilize them and take care of customers at the same time so the selection is smaller.) Since I had been there before, I had already spotted what I wanted. My husband found what he wanted soon after. The lady who assisted us was a pro at insurance. We were given a timeframe of 8-10 days; they were ready in 9. Now my fit was excellent. No problems at all. My husband did have an issue and went back within a couple of weeks, and they decided the best solution would be to change frames. A week later, he's much happier. Knowing he's satisfied and is able to see makes me very happy. I would not hesitate to return to this LensCrafters and recommend it wholeheartedly. read more

Beware they will not refund you!!! One star only because I have no other choice. I have been waiting for a return since early March it's been over 2 1/2 weeks now I was told my return would be back on my debit card in 3 to 5 business days. Going back-and-forth with Mary the manager she has not provided me any solutions to receive my refund of $360. 00. Every 2-3 days I call for a follow up and it's the same story . So I requested customer care for a solution. Customer service advised me the manager is able to provide my return in store, but in store, they refuse. Very upset client. There is no customer service or good manners. I had to endure dealing with the rude attendant in order to complete a purchase of almost $500 (which is a fair price for glasses). But I never received eye contact, a smile, or at least a "please"or "thank you". After spending $500 I wish I could say I am satisfied with my purchase. Instead I left the store with a very unpleasant feeling, I believe inmates are treated in that way inside a prison. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! Its the worst experience we've had EVER! The welcome was nice and the asistant treated us with respect. HOWEVER, when Dr. Abraham was going to do the exam he had a problem from the start. My husband and I always sit at appointments together and when the Dr learned about that he imediatly had issues especially since my husband has a bit of dificulty with English. When the asistant told him we could hear them talking and he saying that he did not care that he would treat my husband on the other room. We asked the asistant if he had a problem because we could hear them talking and she said no. But as soon as he came in he said that he would take care of me here but that my husband had to go to the other exam room. I told him no, because we always sit together. He continued but he did not like it.... Then the Dr, very rudely, asked me why i went there, if it was because i did not like the previous one... to what i answered it was just closer... not that it was any of his business..... His bedside manners are NON EXISTENT! And seeing that we were wearing a mask he anyways got in my face to see my eyes breathing on me and did not have the courtesy to wear a mask if he was going to get so close. Especially when he was coughing and blowing his nose 2 min ago. Its COURTESY!!! I held my breath and went thru it but I was SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE!! When it was my husbands turn his first question was if he could take his mask off... WHY?! He did not ask ME that? Later on he asked for his medications and made him repeated 3 times and then turned to me and i repeated it slowly and he said to take off my mask because he did not understand.... but he did not have an issue when he was doing my exam while wearing my mask... so what was different now?.... that he was treating my husband... the one that sat on my appointment and has a heavier accent than I do. My husband OBVIOUSLY was offended and said he was done with him and he was leaving. When my husband got up he took a step to leave the Dr. to confront him but my husband side steped him and we left. It was clear he had an issue with my husband from the start... he was discriminatory, inconsiderate, and did not even have the decency to apologize imediatedly. When the front desk ladies asked they offered to do another appointment with the practice owner which initially we said yes but after thinking about it we preffered to just not sponsor the business all together. Plus is not like she was going to do anything... its the guy's sister.... i am sure this is the ONLY reason why he still works there! read more

Terrible place, they"don't care" . I purchased a $300 prescription Ray Bans from them. ONE. Lens looks as if a coating has leached. The other lens is normal. I was told it was my fault as the glasses were obviously left in the heat or I put some chemical on them. I asked the person if that is true, why is only one lens affected? The glasses are not kept in any heat and are cleaned with lens cleaner. She could not answer why only one lens was affected and absolutely offered no advice or plan to repair it.STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE read more

But her absolute rudeness, calling the other patient liars, telling me that she hopes I'm not her patient simply because I I took a customers side who had an issue with her health and wearing a mask. I even had mine on and she still said she hopes I'm not her customer simply because I'm not a Nazi. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. DO NOT USE THEM: February 24th 2021, I had an eye exam with this location. My appointment was with Dr. Farrah. She was very nice. She completed my exam, told me my prescription changed, to multifocal contact lenses. I tried them, I didn't see a difference in the lenses except that I was getting constant headaches. I went back for a checkup on March 3. She put me on regular lenses at the new prescription. Since then I've been struggling seeing digital media print. If I put on my old glasses or old contacts, things were fine. I called them 3 times and left voicemails with all my pertinent information, I never received a call back. I called back a few days later and requested a check-up or to talk with the optometrist. Asia who answered told me that she was not available and would call me back. I never received a call from Dr. Farrah. During the call with Asia, I was told repeatedly "I do not know what You want from us". I told her contacts that work for my eyes, as they've always worked. She told me you "complained about headaches". I explained that I didn't see a difference and I had non-stop headaches. I'd think a medical professional would want to know those things. THE CALL ENDED. I called back today and when asked for Dr Farrah, I was told that the office wasn't open at 9:30am. The recording says 9-7pm. This late afternoon I received a call from Kim, who is the retail location store manager. Advising me "Hi Dennis this is Kim calling from LensCrafters _⁠_ the general manager here and I spoke with Dr. Farrah yesterday _⁠_⁠_ said you were inquiring about some things with your contact lenses so she gave me three options for you you can get a set of +2 readers to wear on top of your contacts you could try the ultra multifocal again um or if you wanted to have another fit um it would just be a $96 charge so just give us a call back and let us know what you would like to do phone number here is 863-646-2707 thank you..." I called Kim back - I pretty much was talked over the whole time I was trying to communicate. I was treated like a thief of eyewear and not a patient. Kim twice compared my issue to her mother. Again, telling me that a new exam will be $96. Kim would not let me Talk to Dr Farrah after asking 3 times telling me "the doctor does not talk to customers". I guess they only talk to us when money is being paid by me or my insurance company. I have used LensCrafters for as long as I can remember, but will never go back or recommend them. I'm not really sure how to score lens crafters. When I arrived for my appointment I was taken care of quickly efficiently and very friendly. However when I went back to pick up my glasses I was not greeted nor taken care of in the same fashion. It was the 24th but the store was not overly busy. I felt like once they got my money the service end was over. On tge bright side my glasses are warranted for 2 years and it includes scratches or damage and I can go in anytime for an adjustment free of charge. They were more expensive than I expected though. I used a LensCrafters in St Augustine and had a fantastic experience so I thought I'd try them again but closer to home. Very bad idea. Notified the clerk that I didn't have insurance and would be paying cash. Filled out paperwork (also indicating no insurance) and was quoted a $61 exam. Afterwards was given a bill for $140 JUST for the exam and was told she'd made a mistake in the quote. Asked for the additional fees to be discounted-she refused. This is very dishonest and shady. Although I was planning on getting glasses there, I promptly changed my mind and instead took my prescription and am headed out to get them elsewhere. Not good business practice. read more

I bought the Amazon Echo Frames that are prescription ready. My vision is perfect except for needing reading glasses (only -1.75). So I ONLY needed a price for reading lenses with Transitions. Guess what I got for a quote? --- $640.00!!!!! Are you kidding me!! $640.00 for Reading only with Transitions! That's without an eye exam because they said I don't need one for readers! I don't have insurance so I guess they think I'm stupid enough to buy into this garbage price! Also the lenses were just the cheap polycarbonate lenses!!! C'MON!! $640 FOR CHEAP PLASTIC READING LENSES?? Really?? The "transitions" part should be less than $100! Maybe if I drove there in a Yugo I'd get a better price, doubt it!! read more

Unprofessional and incompetent staff. I called a week ago to inquire about I exams for children. When I spoke with the representative at the store they assured me they do children's I exams. I made two appointments for my four-year-old and my seven-year-old at this location. I made both appointments using LensCrafters online system. This system has a checkmark indicating a child is under the age of seven. Both appointments went through. And the morning of the appointment I received a phone call from this location inquiring about our insurance coverage. I provided them with insurance information and they confirmed they accepted our insurance. I arrived at our appointment five minutes early and was greeted by the manager. While she was helping other people she clearly saw that I had appointments for minor children. The manager instructed us to sign in for our appointments, and I was then helped by another customer service representative. That customer service representative never indicated that their facility does not accept patients under the age of eight. He verified our insurance and checked us in. We were then approached by another customer service representative who informed us with a slight attitude, I might add, that their doctors do not see children under eight. I explained to this representative that I called and verified they could see children earlier in the week. I also explained that I received a phone call on the morning of the appointment verifying our insurance and my children's names/date of births. The fact that this facility doesn't see children was never mentioned. This representative did apologize but offered no concession to see my children. I'd already drove across town 20 minutes out of my way for this appointment. I requested an exception be made. They did not accommodate. I explained that my children had both been seen multiple times for I exams before, had no major concerns, and behaved appropriately; that did not matter. With this type of customer service is safe to say that we will never return to a LensCrafters again. I realize that customer service isn't what it used to be, but LensCrafters did miss out on 4 exams as my husband and I had appoints scheduled within the next day as well. They also lost the sales of multiple pairs of glasses and contact purchases. read more

Have gone to S. FL Ave office for 15+ years. Have always been treated well. While prices were high service was excellent. I just recently went again and oh boy! MD exam was fine. No complaints there. However, the front part of the store was unbelievable. I was called honey, sweetie, and hon. I am handicapped and was told there was nowhere to sit after I found frames. Standing is difficult. I put my tray down and started to leave when suddenly boxes were removed from a table and room was made. Sales assistant was messy, chewing gum, and kept saying " yeah ok" to all my questions. I was given a specific pick up date. When I called that day she and answered the phone. When she she looked up my order she said "thats been here a while where have you been?" Never received a call. Frames were a little snug on face. Turns they are half a size smaller than previous pair. She told me that "they will adjust to my head" and kept trying to hand me my paperwork. Refused to accept them without adjustment. She adjusted twice and finally took them in the back. They fit right now. Hope there are no additional problems because I don't want to go back. Never felt so unwanted and rushed. Store was never like this before. No professionalism. read more

I asked her to slow down and she started talking to me like I was an idiot. My eye exam was very rushed and I felt inaccurate. I also felt like she wasn't listening to us. She left the room claiming that she was going to talk with another optometrist but never returned. Eventually we walked out to see what was going on and we were informed that she had started another eye exam and that we would just be getting a refund. When we asked why they had no explanation except that Dr. Farrah was like a contractor and there was nothing they could do. They even offered to set us up an appointment with one of their other doctors. We felt very disrespected even discriminated against and were shocked at how unprofessional Dr. Farrah had acted. My wife and I have been AARP members for many years. I want to alert you to a devious marketing scam that is being perpetrated on AARP members by Lenscrafters. On Saturday my wife and I went to Lenscrafters on South Florida Avenue in Lakeland , FL because you advertise that they offer an AARP discount to members. After investing much time with a saleswoman in the store we were given the price for a new pair of prescription sunglasses (@$560) and I raised the issue of an AARP discount. We were told that the AARP discount did not apply to frames and lenses from Oakley, the brand of the frames. With further discussion it became evident that they would not offer the AARP discount on anything they had in the store. The sales strategy used in the store was similar to buying a car at most dealerships. No price was quoted upfront, but after filling out a number of forms and signing a disclosure statement, we had to endure a series of pressure tactics for add-ons, etc. until we were finally given a quote. We promptly left the store and went across the street to Wal-Mart were we bought a comparable complete set for $160.00 with no hassle. read more
