Brand new Rx and LensCrafters REFUSED to make me glasses. CLERK: REFUSED to make me glasses. MANAGER: REFUSED to make me glasses. CORPORATE: CALLED (but I was asked to leave) I visited the great Eye Doctor (who is not affiliated with the attached LensCrafter) for a new Rx. Once I got the Rx, I went into the store to buy some new glasses. I gave the clerk my info and he looked it up in the computer. He said that I had purchased and returned some glasses in 2012 and that he wasn't going to sell me any new eyeglasses because he was afraid that I would return those too. (Hey buddy - This is one of the risks of having a return policy - people might actually use it.) IT DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ME SERVICE. IS THIS LENSCRAFTER POLICY OR YOUR POLICY? The clerk said he had to "Check with the manager." The manager DIDN'T WANT TO SELL ME GLASSES EITHER and had to "Check with Corporate." This "Check" never completed and 2 of the 3 employees were hassling me to give up and leave. Employee #3 (who was a fat guy), had a customer who he abandoned, only to tell me that they weren't going to fill my Rx because it was expired. I was getting a little frustrated that he made so many assumptions given that I had a new Rx in my pocket. He wasn't adding anything to the discussion so I told him "Go deal with your customer and mind his own business fat boy." Not only did I already have 2 of the store's 3 employees "working" on my "issue", fat boy had abandoned the store's only other customer (which could not possibly be store policy).. He skulked off to complain to the manager because I "insulted" him by pointing out that a 5' 6" looks fat at 300 pounds. I was already 3 people deep in this circle-jerk and at this point and it was clear the "Corporate" was going to say whatever the manager wanted. My "insult" simply brought this debacle to a head more quickly and I was now persona-non-grata and asked to leave the store - which I did politely. I'm sure I had a good reason to return the eyeglasses 9 years ago and if that means I'm banned from LensCrafters for life, so be it. Their glasses are overpriced to the point where I can get 3 pairs: reading, driving/all purpose, and sun glasses; online, for a lower price than one pair from this store. read more

I was really looking forward to a new pair of glasses. The frames looked nice they were sturdy but not too heavy. They were surprisingly well priced. They arrived earlier than they said they would. Around 5 days I think. When I picked them up I was so disappointed to see that the lenses were extensively laser etched. The etching was in my line of sight if I turned my head slightly but continue to look straight ahead. The etching read: 1.67. Oo FF It was etched into both lenses. I returned a few days later because they were sliding so far down my nose that I could only see over them. The older gentleman replaced the vinyl nose pads with silicone rubber nose pads which stuck far better to my nose. As I went to put them back on my face I decided to complain about the laser etching on the lenses. He reacted angrily and said that there is no way I can see them. He said all eyeglass lenses have them specially progressive lenses. He said that the lensmakers need that information to make them correctly. He said that is the way it is and asked me if I have ever had progressive lenses before. I told him that my previous two pairs were progressive lenses with no laser etching on them. Then he stood up and walked away and I left the store. When the glasses are on your face the etching is not legible however the Sensation that something is interrupting your vision similar to floater cells in your eyes or light scratches on the lenses. Over the next week I started to get headaches that persisted which I generally have not had in years . I began to realize that the progressive lenses were not functioning properly at all . ​​​​​​​​​​​​​ in order to see distant my chin had to be almost against my chest . I returned them to the store for a refund but said that I would have the lenses remade and keep them if they could leave the laser etching off . Apparently that's not possible at lens crafters so I got my money back. The real kicker is they charged me over $900 including the frame which was reasonable for the privilege of looking through someone's writing on my lenses and they still made them wrong . Shame on Lens Crafters. They have lost my business and hopefully yours too. read more

During the Covid emergency an eyeglass store is CLOSED and somehow non-essential. I needed to replace a pair of lost eyeglasses and couldn't receive any assistance even through their internet service. Too bad they failed to serve their community and I was forced to use another business. read more

They have a huge selection of quality frames. Their 30 day return warranty can't be beat. They allow you time to browse the store trying on frames without hovering over you. No sales pitch or trying to up sell you. They also have what no other store has - a "glasses whisperer"! Mr Glatt knows exactly what frames will makes you look fantastic. They offer, but don't pressure you into buying something you don't want or need. They treat you like family. I will save myself the time of going from store-to-store and just go directly to them from now on! read more

This store is so disappointing. I went to a location up near my college last year and had a wonderful experience. This time, I went in and found the cutest pair of lenses and went to order them. I got a story about how my insurance isn't accepted because I don't have a specific program, which I do in fact HAVE and used LAST YEAR and got this confirmed by my insurance company. It also took thirty minutes just for them to tell me that... I left with no glasses and feeling really confused. I will not be returning to this location and it really stinks that this is one of the only places that can make my specialty lenses because I wouldn't go if I didn't have to. Not to mention, the workers have to be really close to you to measure your lenses and some of them don't smell good. read more

I thought I would get good service because I know this lovely young lady in LensCrafters named Jada very kind but her coworker is a Grizzly Bear I go in to get lenses for my frames she was so unprofessional I couldn't believe what I was experiencing. She was quoting me prices for items she hadn't asked me if I wanted or not, it's my choice I'm paying for it! I guess since Black Lives Don't Matter she treated me like shit and quoted me $400 for lenses at Vision Center were $200. Still no lenses. read more

The staff here is incredible. ESP the manager bryan. He offers his customers the best service. When there was an issue with my old glasses breaking he gave me grade A service. I will continue to go back here. In regards to the eye doctor, again very pleased with the service! It was my first time going to an eye doctor in the area so i figured i would give them a shot. Had my glasses made here previously a year/year and half (Regular glasses and a pair of sunglasses both RayBans). Fast forward to this moment when I walked in was not greeted by anyone, floating around for a couple minutes checking out sunglasses from RayBans. It takes about 15-20 minutes be acknowledged by either the elderly gentlemen or the women in the shop. I see it's busy, and understandable being from retail background, no worries. The women in the shop which might be a supervisor comes up and greets me. I state that I am there looking to have a specific frame made for a new pair or normal glasses in prescription. She says that's fine and tells me to go sit down, that someone will come help me. The elderly gentlemen comes over and starts to get my information, normal routine stuff etc. Now I have had both sunglasses and normal glasses made here a year ago and they did advise me that I can also have sunglasses frames be normal glasses. Totally normal I can understand there are certain limitations to lenses and frames. The prescription wasn't changing it was staying the same and the frames I picked out matched the same sunglasses (new wayfarers) same length and lens size. He proceeds to first tell me that the lens wouldn't work for these frames. I ask for a clarification and proceeds to go on about how this frame would flex hard under the lenses I have. I thought it was strange, since I have the same pair with prescription glasses already in them. I can see he is getting agitated by my questioning and the women which I guess is the supervisor comes up and he passes us off onto her. He explained to her that not the lenses but the length of the arms wouldn't be enough when the frame was 145 in length already on my current glasses and sunglasses with no problems. She goes on to proceed to say that these frames wouldn't be long enough for my fit. Even though they fitted me with 145 before and they are both the same. When pressed on about the issue of the length I advised her I have had this done already and it was no issue at all. Honestly it felt like they had either way to much going on and wanted to get me out of there due to them being overwhelmed. Another would be that they simply don't have enough knowledge on all the frames/lenses options in their product line. I understand retail and how it works to be on the other side. Today I witnessed really bad retail practice and if they only took time to really look at my past order/glasses maybe things would of went differently. I would not recommend spending your money or time in this store with the staff they have, look for another location. read more

I came here years ago and lucked out in finally finding a pair of frames for my face that I could be comfortable and satisfied with wearing all the time. My face is wide, my nose bridge low, my cheekbones high. Lenscrafters didn't try to sell me on something I didn't want or tell me the equivalent of "Suck it up. You'll hate it. Buy it anyway," unlike some other places. I was able to take my time and pick frames which I relied upon every day for the next several years. I came back here again because of that great experience. The store looked dustier than before, so I needlessly braced for the disappointment which never came. They're still amazing, quick, and sensitive to your needs. If/when I need glasses again, I'm coming back here, again. read more

As a person with dreadful eyesight, glasses are very important in my day to day life. Throughout my experience at LensCrafters in Eatontown I have been taken care of 100% of the time and in a manner that makes me not mind the little extra drive it takes to get there. This is all thanks to one employee, Brian. Brian, is the most understanding and helpful person I've ever dealt with throughout my years of struggles with my glasses. His knowledge and passion for eyes and eye care is obvious and it translates to his work with customers. I've only ever had one less than flawless experience there and after walking away for 5 minutes, I came back and Brian called me over, sat me down and solved all of my problems. I can't say enough good about him individually, but it is because of him that this store will be keeping my business for the foreseeable future. Aside from personal experience, this location also had a terrific selection of quality, stylish frames that I was not necessarily expecting. I couldn't be happier with my glasses and as I said, I look forward to finding my next pair with them. read more

Every single time I've come in here I got a different story about what my insurance covers. Nobody seems to care or know anything about coverage on lenses or frames. They also try and scam you into buying the more expensive product every single time. The experience at the store is highly dependent on the associate that helps you out, but I have never gotten anybody that is any good. read more

will not be going there anymore or recommending anyone to go there, they're there just to make money, no knowledge of what they're doing and you get 10 different stories each time you go, then on top of it when you say something they pretend that they never said it, I work in medical field and I have never seen anyone behave this way, I say get everything in writing from them before you go on with your treatment and make sure you call you insurance to make sure what's covered and what's not covered read more

Adequate. First, the store was very warm. It seems to be that way every time I go and it's uncomfortable. I had an appointment with the optometrist and had a hard time finding where the optometrist office was within the store. Once I found it, the receptionists were ok, not very friendly, but doing their job. I found it a bit ridiculous that for an optometrists office, my insurance form was in incredibly small font. Service as quick, but the receptionist went on and on and on about my profession when she was doing the initial testing - it was uncomfortable, but I know she was just trying to make small talk. Dr. Beegle was very nice, but I could see how he may be a tad cold if you aren't in the medical profession. He was very open to answer my questions to the best of his ability and talked to me in medical terms, which I like, given that I am in the medical field. Then I went to the floor to look for frames, and I had a hard time, but that's more personal than something that should be reviewed. They have a wide selection of frames, styles, and materials. The floor attendants are very attentive and provide very prompt service. Several times I have gone in to get my glasses adjusted or getting my nose odd repaired and they have been very helpful and efficient. read more
