Tyler was great. Customer service A+. They have a great selection of glasses. Very knowledgeable staff

I made an appointment which they later rescheduled but getting in on a weekend is always hard task so ‍. I was checked and had an appointment with the ophthalmologist who told me I had the option for a small prescription as I still have 20/20 vision. Then the sales lady pressured me into getting some glasses that I was assured would be free and covered through my insurance, where they then proceeded to charge me over $400. Needless to say I was unimpressed with their tactics. I did opt for a cheaper lens made out of like plexiglass or something. Still costed me over hundred dollars out-of-pocket. Also, the sales associate who checked me out, did nothing but talk bad about working for LensCrafters the entire time and insisted I hook her up with a work from home position like I have. Was very unprofessional. Right after I left I called to just cancel the order because the glasses were optional and not really needed and they basically said no after an extended hold. So I'm sure that if you go they will you over sell you on something you don't actually need and you'll leave regretting ever going. read more

We have been going here for three years and have been very happy with everything. My husband doesn't have eye insurance and they work with him on costs. They take my vision coverage with no issues. Brittany is fabulous to work with. My suggestion - go when they aren't busy and develop a rapport with them. read more

These people have no customer service skills whatsoever. From the receptionist for the vision exam to the woman Kathy helping me (or lack there of) pick my frames. I'm not going to throw the race card on the table because the black guy (didn't get his name) was equally as rude and short. Not sure if there were hungry or not because it was lunchtime, but I would encourage whoever the owners of this particular store to examine who they have representing them. At least the female eye doctor was nice and the young lady who performed the preliminary examinations. Other than that, everything about this experience was trash. Even to the you can't get the frames from their website. Just a garbage experience and I would not come to this place. This experience turned me off on LensCrafters and I've been loyal to the brand since 2016. It's over though. read more

made an appointment had to wait 2 weeks for availability. Got an email the evening before my appointment that if I didn't show I would've charged 50 bucks. I showed up. your internet was down. understand that's beyond your control. yes I left.I live 40 minutes away with no projected time frame. where's my 50 bucks? I did what you asked. will NEVER darken your doors again and will tell anyone I talk to that you are liar. read more

Let me start by saying this is not this stores fault but they are getting the backlash of my anger of the lenscrafters.com website I have never been so disappointed in a big purchase before. I got $350 prescription sun glasses ans they feel so CHEAP! I literally wanted to cry when I got them because of how disappointing they were. The quality feels like I bought these sunglasses from the dollar store. The film on the lense as well for the polarization has a bubble where the material comes up. I'm so disappointed. Yall need to work on what is offered for the price. I attached a photo but a picture doesn't compensate a feeling. However, you can see the bubble or scratch in the film.  In addition, I tried using the live chat feature first to bring this up and after trying 4-5 different times I get it isn't working which is crazy cause you can't utilize it the way it is supposed to. Needless to say tho I don't know if I would purchase from yall again  (The bubble or scratch is in the top left of the photo) read more

The wait to be acknowledged was easily 20 minutes. Then to find out an eye exam is $120 and they didn't accept my insurance. I booked an appointment but then canceled when I found another place just a few blocks away for $39 an exam. And as suspected I have 20/20 vision just need reading classes. I recommend Looking for a local little places vs this big chain. read more

Pathetic service. My daughter's eye exam was scheduled and when we reach there, they made us wait 20 minutes, just to say they had computer glitch and could not honor the appointment. We confirmed the appointment before starting. They did not cancel it and made us come there. They were not even apologetic for their action. I have also been trying for the last one hour to schedule an eye checkup, but the line is keeping me on hold for more than 10 minutes. read more

It was an amazing service from the beginning to end. They squeezed me in and made sure I was completely comfortable.

Do you enjoy being lied to? Do you like being swindled out of money? If so this place is for you. If you like being told your copay is $10 before you come in only to find the office requires "optional" imaging for an additional $49 that you can't opt out of and your contact fitting can range from $8 to $32 ADDITIONAL dollars, then this place is for you. Personally if my daughter didn't have her driving test the next day I would've walked out. read more

Save yourself time and energy by going somewhere else... Pleasant doctors, terrible customer service. Came in for an eye exam to get my contact prescription and I'm just now getting the prescription two whole months later. I'm not going to even go into my story, because I'll be typing here forever. Let's just say it all boils down to the front desk associates never answering the phone or calling customers back to let them know when their lenses come in. I'm sure they take care of their long term customers, but I suppose my business fell through the cracks because they simply couldn't care less. I had high hopes for this place, but was BEYOND disappointed with my service. I will not return and would not recommend this store to anyone. read more

Awesome service!!!! Was passing though town and was in need of a quick pair of glasses. Ashley was very accommodating, friendly, and able to process two pairs of glasses in a few hours. Outstanding location. read more

Gave my appointment to a walk in while i was sitting there. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER !!! that blonde girl up front has deep issues

Terrible customer service. Hated my experience here. As a Latino let's just say I felt out of place here and the chunky lady up front assumed I had Medicaid for no reason even though I told her I have Humana. She couldn't believe it and kept asking if I have Medicaid until her coworker corrected her and did her job for her. Was told the frames and lens would be done in no longer than a week, however it took over a week and I had to keep calling to check since this store inspired absolutely no confidence. Choose a better vision provider! Or at least don't go to the harbison LensCrafters. read more

I visited your Columbia, SC store in Columbiana Mall, that I had done business with in the past.....on 6/2 - I had an eye test that I had been putting off since before COVID, had an eye test, selected, and paid for new glasses. On Monday 6/13 I got a text message reading: "ready. Set. Get. Your new glasses are READY for pick up at LensCrafters! Stop in any times to see the new you. I was excited but my 1st opportunity was days later on 6/16 to get out to your store. When I went in I was told that the lens was in and they would put the lens into my old glasses on my face while I waited. I asked them to check that I had picked out and paid for new glasses. It was then explained to me that yes they had the glasses but that I would need to wait 30 mins for them to get the lens in the new glasses. I said that I was headed out of town to pick up my elderly father and couldn't hang out in the mall for the glasses to be completed. I asked that they call me once the glasses were ready to be picked up. On Sunday 6/19 as I arrived back in town I drove back over to the mall since no one was answering the phone number provided in the text message, 803 781-7030. Upon going in sure that my glasses would be done since they were promised on 6/2 and it would only take 30 minutes on 6/16 - I was sure to get my new glasses - right???? NO, it was again explained to me that my glasses were not done and that I could wait for 30 minutes for them to be prepared... I shared that I had my 92 year-old father in the parking lot waiting for his Fathers Day lunch and that I could not wait around in the mall while he sat in the heat. There had also just been a gang shooting in this mall with several folks shot! - so who wants to hang out in this area. I asked that they please call me to verify that the glasses were ready with the phone numbers on file. To date I have not heard back from your Columbiana store... and am wondering if I should simply request a refund and go to another store. Gas is not cheap and I do not wish to drive back out to the mall and no be able to get my glasses that I paid for.... I will be calling and asking for my glasses or a full refund! I will be checking out storefront locations or online options. I can't understand why after spending over 700- with this store they can't call the customer and provide basic customer service!!! almost 3 weeks later- Gonna get my money back..... read more

Visited this location after finding out my top choice was out of network with my new insurance. Honestly should've kept looking but I jumped on the first available appointment I could make. Horrible horrible horrible. Never will I ever! Had to sit and wait past Appointment time. The young lady at checkout may have still been in training because she made checkout even longer. Watched them change for a contact lens fitting and didn't even actually do the fitting just handed the lady her contacts and told her to try them at home. Sooooo what's the charge for exactly.. I still don't know. Ordered glasses 2 weeks ago and was told they should arrive with 5-7 business days. Called and they informed me my glasses were in store but I'd have to wait to pick them up because they still needed to be checked by someone. That was 2 days ago and I still haven't reviewed a notification. Just save yourself the money and headache and go elsewhere! read more

I've been nothing but pleased with Lenscrafters. I've read less than stellar reviews of this location, but I was delighted to find that they were totally inaccurate. Francesca proved herself to be a very knowledgeable and helpful salesperson, and displayed a great deal of patience while she helped me find the frames I liked. The frames came in and wound up irritating my ears, so I came in and got the earpieces adjusted by Susan, the store manager. She was very willing to help and remarkably patient as well. Finally, I realized that the glasses would need to be either replaced or drastically adjusted, and George (the glasses tech) was also extremely helpful in getting the earpieces replaced. They're expensive, but you pay for quality. I'm definitely going back there for future needs. read more

Had a horrible experience. These people ripped me off because I had vision insurance. I paid $300 more than a deal they had going without insurance. I brought this to their attention. They said they would correct the overcharge the day after I picked up my glasses. Never happened. I called and left two voicemails which were never returned. Business practices questionable. Find another place to go. read more

Customer service leaves you wanting for more. I went for glasses and found that they were trying to pretend to give me a discount and then charging the normal price rates even with insurance so I went to jcp got the exact same thing for 300 less including my insurance of course. I would give no stars if possible. This has been the most frustrating eye doctor experience of my life. I went to get an eye exam February 10, 2020 in order to get a contact prescription to order more contacts. I have been wearing contacts for about 10 years and for some reason contacts prescriptions done through LensCrafters expire after one year, probably so you have to come back for another eye exam. Fine, a little inconvenient but not a huge deal. However, after my eye exam they told me I needed to have a trial pair of contacts, even though I have been wearing this same brand of contacts the entire time I have had them. I said okay because generally they give you the trial pair right then. However, I have a less than common prescription so they told me they needed to special order my trial pair before I could go ahead and just order my year supply of contacts. Jump to 6 weeks later and I still have no trial pair, have run out of my other contacts (due to only being able to purchase a year supply at a time), and have been unable to purchase new contacts. They finally get my trial pair in but I had just returned from spring break and was doing my mandatory 14 days self quarantine for COVID-19. They assured me that they would be open for me to pick them up the weekend I was able to. When that weekend arrived they were closed and I was again left without contacts. Not their fault, but still annoying. LensCrafters had set up a link on their website to allow people to request a copy of their prescription to order contacts online. I filled out this form 4 or 5 times over the course of a month, each time getting no response from the business. When LensCrafters opened this Monday, I called to get a copy of my prescription but found out they were not able to give it to me immediately because the doctor saved it in the computer as a trial prescription. The person on the phone assured me that he would contact the doctor to get it changed to a normal prescription and then email it to me. That was a week ago. They have been dodging my phone calls ever since and I am unable to go to the store because I am home with my family in Alabama, not in Columbia where I go to school. Overall this has been the worst eye doctor experience of my life and I am appalled at how LensCrafters has been handling the situation. Absolutely horrible customer service. read more

When I joined a vision benefits plan in July 2011, I began going to LensCrafters' Columbiana Centre location in the Harbison/Irmo area. Unfortunately, my most recent visit there (September, 2014) will be my last. I don't live near that location, so I've made numerous attempts to keep in touch with the staff about my contact lens order (custom, Boston Lens RGP's) by telephone. Sadly, I've lost confidence in the Staff of this location, who haven't made it a priority to return my calls. This has been true throughout the month of September. Please note: If you call and the voicemail picks up (803-781-1669), don't bother leaving a message; it'll be ignored. For those of you who choose to do business there, I hope you see some improvement. read more

Terrible customer service. I have given this branch multiple opportunities to change my mind, but after today I refuse to ever visit the Lexington office. I will gladly drive the extra twenty minutes to the downtown Columbia office which has always had very nice people answering the phones and behind the counters. After multiple rude experiences I decided to give the Lexington office one more chance today. I called and left a message for the contact lenses department and after five hours of no one returning my call (and being near by) I dropped in to inquire about some lenses. The woman behind the counter was very rude to me, ignored the fact that no one had returned my call, and said she couldn't even check to see if they had what I needed. I was told to wait five minutes until another woman came back from lunch. After about fifteen minutes I got up and left and no one said anything to me to try and keep my business. Also, don't bother complaining to the management because they are just as rude and do not care whether or not they loose your business. read more

I wouldn't come here unless you already have a prescription. I've gotten glasses here in the past with my prescription from an eye car center on St. Andrews rd. However they were pretty booked up for a month, month and a half, so I booked an eye exam. It didn't go well wearing my glasses with the new prescription for the next six days. Suddenly I have a stigmatism that I've never had before, migraines every single day and the unpleasant sensations everyday of feeling like someone is trying to carve out my eyes with a wooden spoon. No thank you. So I'm set up for an Rx check next week and my eyes have taken to my old glasses and old prescription like a duck to water. I respect the background and professional opinion of the people checking my eyes and writing the prescription, but at the same time I KNOW the new prescription is not working for my eyes. So we'll see how Monday goes and in all likelihood, I'll be returning the "new" glasses I cannot wear if there's no budging on the prescription. Side note: I'm 28 and my eyes haven't changed in 4 years. The old adage: if it ain't broke, don't fix it is extremely relevant in this case. If you have a prescription already and are just shopping for glasses, the experience is fairly smooth but there are three new employees doing that will flit back and forth between you and a supervisor to get confirmation on how to do something three to four times during the process. Or leaving to go help another newbie employee who is only a few days newer than them. Just FYI. read more

I took us approximately 2 hours to order glasses for my two children. The store got new iPads, lost all the insurance information in their files, customer service guy did his best but had to ask for same information multiple times, call our insurance etc. We were trying to use the protection plan for my son's glasses for the first time and that has become a nightmare. I was never told about the "copays" for both lens and frame, nor was I told that we had to turn over the old glasses in order to get the new pair. My son's Rx changed and we had to use our insurance + pay extra to get the lenses he needs, so we couldn't use the plan for that, but no one explained to us in the this case that it probably would have just been better for us to make the whole purchase over again and not use the plan at all since we have to give the old glasses back (can't keep for a spare) and we had to pay for the new lenses out of pocket anyways. Left name and number and asked for manager to call me.. here I am 4 days later and no call. Called the corporate office and there's no way to make complaint over phone - have to go online. Went online and no option anywhere for making an official complaint. Only reason we go to LensCrafters is bc it's a preferred provider for our insurance. Not happy with this experience at all. read more
