In 2028 my wife I and each bought one pair of frames, lenses, and clip-on sunglasses from the store in Forest Acres, and then a couple of years later we updated the lenses. Our first sets of frames and lenses were fine, even though my clip-ons were too difficult to put on while driving. The service was fine. However, when I updated my lenses, I got the lousiest lenses I've ever bought. The expensive coating began to scratch and peel within 4 or 5 months. This was during the pandemic, so I didn't really have any recourse. I'll not buy light-changing lenses ever again. Today my wife went in for a replacement of her magnetic clip-ons and they told her they had no record of her buying them there. We haven't shopped for glasses anywhere else since 2018. They suggested my wife forgot that she bought them where we get our exams. It was all on my wife, not on the store. We failed as customers. The clerk was very pleasant and responsive, but the manager couldn't have been less interested. She wasn't curt; she just didn't care. We'll not be going back. read more

Was satisfied with Folline for over 20 years. But during glasses adjustment May 18 2022, my lenses were broken by employee doing adjustment to frames. Folline would not own up to it as their mistake. Said they were already broken. You think I would know this, the glasses are 'in my face' 12+ hours a day. read more

I was told at Foline's that my eye pressure was high and could lead to Glaucoma. This guy was not the usual optometrist/optician that I go to there. Whoever he was, they made me an appointment with an eye doctor but I refused theirs and decided to use my own. Five hundred dollars later at my eye doctor - my pressure is fine - never was high! I am not happy with them anymore and will seek another place to get my glasses and exams. read more

Bought my RX Oakley sunglasses from them about two months ago. Great service, no issues...until... About two weeks ago, the anti-glare finish started to come off one of the lenses. I took the glasses to Folline last Saturday. Rachel said she'd call Oakley first thing Monday. I got a call just after lunch that Oakley would be cutting new lenses for my glasses. Skip to yesterday... Rachel called me and said the lenses were in. I stopped by this morning, and she put the lenses in my frames. No fuss, no muss. A+ customer service from both Oakley, and Folline. I have been to the Forest drive and downtown locations. My insurance is accepted there, as well as my FSA. The selection of frames is second to none! Emily and her staff are extremely helpful in sorting through choices, fitting, and customizing. The optometrists have always been professional and willing to answer questions in order to find the best solution. I have had experiences with other centers (including exams with ophthalmologists) that have left me with questions unanswered and confusion about my prescription, inability to wear contact lenses, etc. Finally, Folline is willing to accommodate a very busy schedule!! I will not do business with them ever again (after being a customer for many years). I needed my prescription information to have manufactured a pair of high impact specialty glasses that they could not make (and wouldn't give me any assistance in finding someone who could make them, even for a referal fee). To top it off, they would not give me my entire medical record, claiming it was "proprietary". , even though I had paid for it once before when I had my most recent eye exam and I was willing to pay for it again - the comment was made that it was their "policy" and that they did not intend to help someone else make a "profit". read more

If I could give Folline zero stars, I would. After spending $900 on new glasses, I asked for information on the prescription so I could possibly order a spare pair from a cheaper internet site. When I asked for the pupillary distance measurement, I was told that they do not give out that information because it BELONGS to them. I was flabbergasted that they consider a measurement of my eyes to be their property. Needless to say I will never spend another penny at Follines. After several purchases at this location, I've decided to sever ties. The short version is when presented with a problem concerning prescription glasses I was told the warranty had expired. The clear option, especially for a problem they even considered unique, was to recommend sending the product to the manufacturer for their professional assessment. Simple enough and if the verdict was not in my favor, so be it. I get expiration dates, warranty provisions, etc., but I don't get presenting a false notion of caring about the customer. This is the first time I have ever written a review on a company and I am a 60 year old retired banking officer who has lived in forest acres all my life and appreciated the stores and services provided by the merchants in Trenholm Plaza shopping center over the decades. Until this day! My wife and I were walking by Follins Vision Center this morning after leaving The Fresh Market. Follins was not open at the time as it was only 9 a.m. My wife noticed a pretty, stylish pair of Maui Jim sunglasses in the window. We have been kind of looking lately for a new pair for her. When we got home my wife called the store (4840 Forest Drive, suite 6c 29206) after they opened at 10 a.m. to inquire about he model so we could look them up online to see the specs and pictures to be sure she may be interested in them. The employee that answered the phone would not divulge the model and was quick to let my wife know that they don't accept returns and she must visit the store to try them on and to obtain the model name of the sunglasses. This was absolutely insulting and rude on this store's part. Insinuating we may be looking for a better price at the expense of window shopping their store. Anyone knows Maui Jim eye ware is price fixed as it should be. Read the other negative reviews, there is something not right with this location, or maybe the entire company. read more

Think twice before buying glasses here if you expect them to be 1) delivered on-time, and 2) priced reasonably. When I asked Nicky when I could expect my glasses to be ready, she said "Two weeks, maybe less." I ordered them on a Saturday, and they weren't ready until Wednesday of the third week. Brenda offered no explanation for the delay, and told me "You have to understand that we don't give (time) guarantees." I'm a long-time customer of Folline's, and try to support small retailers. However, next time I'm going to try the advice from Consumer Reports and buy from Walmart. read more
