I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had with LensCrafters. During my eye exam, they completely failed to identify that I needed progressive lenses. After getting my glasses, I quickly realized something was off and had to go back to have them remade. The second time around wasn't any better--they measured incorrectly, and when I picked them up, everything was still blurry. I pointed it out, and instead of fixing the issue, they told me to "wear them for a few weeks" so I could "adjust." That never happened. The only way I could see clearly was if the glasses were practically sliding down my nose, which is obviously not how they're supposed to fit. So I went back again to have them remade, only to be told that they "forgot to notate" my pickup date in their system. When they asked me when I got them and I said "about two months ago," suddenly it was outside their 30-day guarantee--and now I'd have to pay all over again. Completely unacceptable. Poor exam, incorrect measurements, dismissive service, and then they hide behind a technicality to avoid fixing their mistake. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere like Costco. You'll pay a fraction of the price (around $60 for lenses vs. $300+ here), and the service is actually competent. And if you do go to LensCrafters--don't let them convince you to "try them out." If something feels wrong, insist they fix it on the spot. read more

I ordered two pairs of Ray ban's through ray-ban.com. I thought it would be safer to have my glasses delivered to LensCrafters. I went in. I picked up the first pair. They told me they didn't receive the second pair I went in a week later they said they still didn't receive the second pair I checked with UPS UPS said they dropped off the glasses at LensCrafters. LensCrafters said they don't have the glasses, LensCrafters, UPS and Ray-Ban out of all three of them. None of them returned my money or the glasses. I got a hold of my credit card company and I put a stop payment. I can't believe LensCrafters stays in business with a box less sitting on the floor, 6 feet from where the customers are with all the boxes that come from UPS in that big box where anybody could grab anything. read more

My Zennis lost the screw that holds the bow. The young ladies reported that the technician may arrive later and if they could take my phone number to report back to me if he would be in the store later that day. In a matter of an hour I received a voicemail from the Lens Crafter crew that the glasses technician was in until 4pm that day and that i may return for the repair. not only did they replace the screw he also corrected the bow being outstretched. it was as if i had a brand new set of frames! the service from all team members was outstanding and most certainly will for my next new pair of glasses! read more

When I ask why, she tells me that the data isn't shown as progressive lenses. When I asked a clarifying question...the response was, "I'm not licensed to do that?" What? Not licensed to read data? Recently picked up another new pair of glasses at LensCrafters in Colma. I've got a wonky set of ears on my head so I have to go back for multiple adjustments to get them fit just right you know? I'm glad that I am able to get the fittings done for free and to get that taken care of quickly each time I walk through the door, since I am disabled and movement is hard for me.. Having said that, I am the ideal target demographic because I trust brands and consistently depend on them over the long term. I made the mistake of going somewhere else for my glasses and it was horrible. My prescription was off and the glasses (lenses) were worse. I paid so much money for those glasses that I never wore because I was pressured and guilted into buying them after waiting 2 weeks for them to arrive. I need my glasses. I went back to my tried and true - Lens Crafters. I scored a same day appointment. How super convenient?! The personable, professional Doctor did my eye exam for $59. They were happy to change the lenses in my expensive as hell frames with my new prescription IN AN HOUR! I flashed my AAA card for a nice discount. The service here? OUTSTANDING. Thanks to JUSTINE. What a departure from the horrific wildly unprofessional experience I had at the other place that basically forced me to pay for glasses I knew wasn't the right prescription. To the owner of this store: this review is specifically about the store manager, Brittany. And the rating above is 1 star too many already. Brittany has no business to work in customer service, let alone be the manager of the store. She is very rude, testy, and very unprofessional. I truly believe that as long as she remains in charge of the store, it will continue to loose valuable customers. Got my exam and glasses in late 2019. The glasses last for 9 months, the coating on the lens was deteriorating, makes it hard to see clearly. I went back to the store and was told that I didn't buy warrantee so they couldn't fix the lenses. So out of pock $300+insurance on a cheap toy. I've been coming here for years to get my eyes checked every year. The eye exam itself I've never had an issue with. It's the rest of the store. It's a hit or miss with them. Last year I had picked out a frame I really liked while waiting for the eye drops to dilate my eyes. Once the drops kicked in, a store associate asked if I would like them to put the frames on hold until I was done with my exam and I said sure. Once I was done, I went to pay for my eye exam and I asked if I should wait till the new lenses are put into the new frames to pay and they said it's okay. I paid and left. Two weeks later and called the store for an update and they didn't have the frames on hold for me!! This year was a between hit and miss I kept calling and was constantly put on hold so I ended up just going back to store to speak with someone. I waited for her to take my temp and she says rudely "sanitizer your hands". I had a bunch of stuff in my hands and I was trying to adjust it to get the sanitizer. The whole greeting was so negative that after starting to browse I just set their tray down and left. I went the Colma location for an eye exam for my son, because the near San Bruno location was closed for good. After the exam, they did not provide any contact lens sample which was usually provided by the San Bruno location without any trouble. When I requested contact lens sample with the Colma store, the employee there were very reluctant and said it takes two months to receive them due to COVID. In 2023? Overall, the service was horrible and not professional! I has an impression that they do not want to provide the sample and they wanted me to go away. Very disappointing experience. I chose one star because there is no option. I called near Target Optometry and the staff said they provide contact lens sample the same day! Avoid this location! read more

I came in on a whim today to get my glasses that I ordered online adjusted. Justin offered to assist and I'm so glad he did because he is very knowledgeable and knew what the issue was. I told him that although I can see well again at eye level, I still have double vision looking down and It turns out the prescription lenses that are ordered from the online store aren't 100% tailored to your eye since not all pupils are the same and it's best to go in person to get accurate measurements and pick out the correct fitting frames for your face shape. He gave me a sample to try on of the same prescription, but with the correct pupil measurements of my eye and I was shocked and so relieved that I wasn't seeing double vision anymore. He was able to return the glasses I currently have and helped me purchase a better one with added anti-glare included (helps with driving at night). I will have to wait again for the new glasses to be delivered, but I'm confident that I'll be able to see clearly again thanks to Justin's expertise. He's off Sunday and Mondays, so definitely come by when he's here. read more

Dr. Ashley Tang, Justine and Francisco are the best. It was my first eye exam in 5-6 years so I wasn't use to the new eye test technology they had. Dr. Tang thoroughly explained the the whole procedure and discussed what each tool did and how it tested my eyes. Additionally, even though it was closing time, Francisco (Store Mgr), Justine (sales rep) and the lab technician agreed to stay late so I could get my glasses right away. 5 stars for great quality and great customer service! read more

While some folks might get impatient when your contact lenses didn't arrive by the time you were told by the staff, and that is what happened in my case, but I have nothing negative to say. My glasses were made in time as told even though I was also told my contact lenses will arrive sooner than my glasses. So I asked the staff what's taking so long. The staff didn't give me any attitude and was very polite, professional, and helpful. Even offered to get me a pair that were not exactly my prescription, but will work fine while I wait since they couldn't track what happened to my first order. After 2 weeks since my purchase, the contact lenses arrived for me to pick them up. A few days later, what surprised me even more was when I received a package from LensCrafters, which included more contact lenses as if they were doubling down on their service. I had recently veered away from LensCrafters for awhile due to a former bad experience at another store, but Karina's service was beyond top tier and repaired my skewed perspective of this optical chain. Not only was she compassionate, but understanding of my needs (as I am injured at the moment) and wanted to see if I could handle a transaction for contact lenses via phone, instead of coming in person. She was a wonderful listener, was patient, and thorough with going through my insurance process (as VSP often takes a long time to process), as well as a very knowledgable advisor about my contact lens use/daily care. You know the feeling of being exhausted, because you're so fed up and just plain drained having to deal with a business but you just want to get everything done with? LensCrafters is a living embodiment of that. When God showered the earth with incompetence I think this company got greedy and just caught all of it. There is no sense of urgency nor anyone that takes responsibility for their own fault. No apologies, no empathy no courtesy.. ABSOLUTELY ZERO! I went to this place because of an issue with the Stonestown Branch. To be quite honest, had I not use my insurance for this year with LensCrafters, I would not be back. I have 8 years of business with them that they happily kicked to the curb when they easily forgot I was their customer and they mistreated me. I don't want to dwell on the same issue I've elaborately explained on my review for that branch. This review is for the Colma branch. What I did not like about this store is that I went here on a Sunday and it was dead, I was the only customer and there were 3 employees lollygaging, it's none of my business if this establishment want to pay employees doing nothing, and I'm ok with that. What's not ok is that when I handed them my prescription and asked if it's ok to get my glasses made here with a prescription that was done through another branch. As expected everything was well and they were able to do it. When I was about to checkout the person who helped me mention ask me if it's okay that it will take 7-10 business day to get my glasses done. Because hey said that they're having machine broblema and there's no ETA on when it be fixed.... FLABBERGASTED!!! But ok, I rather wait those 10 days than go back to the stonestown branch. I left it at that. Come Monday I got a call from John saying that my eyeglasses was done and ready to be picked up. I was happy about that but I told someone there's when I called back that I'm unable to pick it up u til the weekend. Come today, Monday the following week. I picked up my glasses the place looked much more busy with a good 6 employees and a few customers. I guess business is thriving. I picked it up and everything seems to be in working order. I went to a store a couple stores down and wore my new glasses. It's weird to notice that looking at a box that's suppose to be perfectly square, it looked as if it's deformed. At first I thought that maybe it's suppose to be asymmetrical or intentionally distorted. It so happens that it's my new glasses. I went back to the store and sat down with an associate. He took a look at the glasses and kept going behind the cash register and kept asking a female rep. I decided to stand up from his workstation and speak to him and the person he was talking to just so that it can save some energy going back and forth and I was getting irritated myself. Mid you, I just had an issue with this company and yet again here's another issue arising. Whoever he was asking didn't not even acknowledge me there and just kept talking to the person who was helping me. Fine, I don't want to engage anyway because anything from me at this point will just straight up be borderline offensive in a way they wouldn't like and would address my dismay and their incompetence. I don't like the fact that they made it seem that it wasn't their fault and said it was someone's "typo" that cause the error. Mind you it's the same company, so one associates error is their error. You would think that they would apologize for the inconvenience they have caused me. Or at least take responsibility for the matter at hand, but I guess that's well above their pay grade, but I think it's suppose to be basic customer Service. Gas isn't free and me going to their store again because of their irresponsibility and incompetence is absolutely ridiculous. I'm pretty sure the girl who the person I was with was the manager or at least a supervisor and it's quite telling of the branch and now I'm sure of the company that they ABSOLUTELY suck!
