Target Optical Daly City literally saved me and I can't say enough positives about them. I had stupidly put a hydrogen peroxide lens solution in my contact instead of my daily saline drops on a Saturday morning. Short story: walked in randomly on a busy Saturday afternoon hoping to get some relief however wasn't optimistic considering circumstances. Wow wow wow and in a very good way. Store manager Kiara took me aside to hear me out and suggested seeing the onsite doctor who was on lunch but could squeeze me in if I could wait a bit. . I waited maybe 45 minutes saw Dr. Snow who thoroughly checked and flushed my eye and most importantly gave me peace of mind that I didn't fry my cornea. Biggest shout out to KIARA for her quick attention and understanding of the situation AND to Dr. SNOW for her clinical kind and thorough manner. I was shopping at this Target optical and the previous time I went the attendant, a young man with brightly colored hair and nails, was very helpful. He was kind and patient and understanding and accomdladaring like a proper customer service and sales attendant. But this time that I went, @940am Friday January 12th he was very rude. I was making a purchase and loooong to get some trials for the purchase, so I can see until I get the contacts in the mail. He was disrespectful, called me a lie because I didn't buy something last time, less than two weeks ago, so so he would not give me trials even if I made a purchase today and he denied me any service. I dont think that was grounds to be disrespectful, I was not disrespecting him, he was not professional he was uncaring, insensitive, he was doing everything he could to prevent so to prevent a sale, he was focused on doing negative back talk instead of helping with solutions and now I feel like I can't even go to this place and they have my prescription and that's my eye doctor. He should have just made it right, did the right thing, gave away the disposable, dependable contacts and remember he should be focused on solutions, business need and being kind to people. read more

I made appointment with dr. Toan thach for my parents. When they came they switched another doctor without notice. This is very unprofessional. Second thing is they automatically change the options on the lens or either adding additional insurance on the frame to make you pay out of your pocket. My dad choose a frame which is $59 and they charged him $200 extra even though he has his eye insurance cover $150. And the lens is only $10. Cameron Kiara Myla I wanted to shout out to these 3 individuals at Target Optical Serramonte. Without getting too lengthy into my unique experience I want to say just this: Their jobs OBVIOUSLY entail a high level of multi tasking. And although most of my experience here has been just the regular tune up of my frames, they never EVER have made me feel like a burden. Today in particular they were extremely gracious with their greeting and extra meticulous with what I needed. The lobby is well kept with their professionalism, personalitie(s) and sanitation protocals. I'd give a 6th star to Cameron's well manicured hands. They look fabulous and scream cleanliness when it comes to handling the hardware that I wear on my face 18/24 hours of the day. I recently noticed that my right eye was blurrier than usual so I figured it was time to go to the eye doctor. I have Eye Med insurance and tried to find an eye doctor covered by my plan that could schedule me the same day. I tried scheduling an appointment at another eye doctor but they didn't have any openings until a month later. I called Target Optical and they were able to schedule me the same day after work. They're also open on weekends which is convenient if you work on weekdays. Everyone who works here is super nice and quick! He prescribed drops my first visit and told me not to wear glasses and prescribed more drops my second visit. My vision cleared up within a few days! Apparently, eyes are like skin and he could see the flakiness in my eyes. My third visit, he tested my vision and it was the same as it was before my right eye went blurry. He also used eye tests that I had never done before and caught an astigmatism in my left eye that no other eye doctor has told me about. My last eye doctor asked, "has anyone ever told you that your left eye can't be 20/20?" Now I know the reason! The astigmatism lenses are apparently more expensive though so I'm going to stick with my regular lenses. The cost was $40 for a contact lens fitting and the drops prescribed were around $10 at the Target Pharmacy. Every visit was covered by my insurance. read more

The Daly City branch of Google optical is fantastic! I tried these guys out of desperation initially, and they were the only ones that were able to find what the problem was and why my glasses didn't work for me! I have gone back to them now for the second time, as my prescription has changed. My wife and my eldest son also use this target optical. When I first came in, the lady who greeted me was not friendly at all. That same lady (I'm guessing an assistant) did the initial photograph of my pupils. It's when they use a blast of air on your eye which is very unpleasant. She did not even warn me. In the past optometrist offices I visited, they always warned people about those things and are very patient and understanding about these tests. Apparently not here...She was also getting annoyed that I kept blinking. She told me that my eyes were too small (she probably meant to say too chinky) and that I need to somehow make them bigger. Ugh...why can't this homegirl see that I'm Asian?! And I can't do anything about my "small" eyes. The optometrist seemed competent but lacked warmth. He kept asking me to read something on the screen and when I told him that I couldn't because it was just a blob of blur, he told me that I need to train my eyes to read things that are far away and not just give up when it's hard to see. Hmmm...lets just think about that statement. I thought that I was trying to help my eyes to see better by coming to his office and getting new glasses. I don't think I have ever heard that from an optometrist before. He really lacked friendliness and could not explain things very well. Anyway, I left pretty confused. So why the 4 stars you ask? Well I needed my glasses in a hurry and they delivered in this area. I got my glasses in 3 days, much faster than they had originally told me which was 7-10 business days. The price was also reasonable. Eye exam is $55 and depending on the frames you pick, you could be paying under $500 for a new pair of glasses and the exam which is not such a bad deal. Also, the girl who helped me make sure that my new eyewear fit was super nice and awesome. Her name is Tessa. I would say she is the most pleasant person in this office. How do you write a review for an optical store? What is there to review? Well quite a bit actually. Let me start off by saying I am not a fan of the eye exam. Specifically getting my eyes dilated. So getting me into an optical store is a big deal already. Well my glasses were several years old and my prescription way out of date so i decided it was time. I have Eye Med Insurance through work and Target Optical accepts Eye Med. So that's the first step. I walked in and was asked if they could help me. i mentioned i was about 30 minutes early so i could just fill out paperwork and look at some glasses frames in the meantime. Well someone had just called to say they were running late. So the employee kindly offered that time slot and Dr. Thach could see me right away. So I met with him and he was great. He mentioned that we didnt need to dilate eyes anymore. That it was optional. Music to my ears. The whole exam was the fastest exam i ever had. Maybe 10 minutes. After showing me my eye x-rays and explaining my eyes "were pretty boring" (haha yes he said that) since he found nothing wrong with them it was time to take a look at glasses. Although i needed new glasses i dreaded the price tag. Well between Target's low prices and my great vision insurance the price tag was shocking but in a good way. I found 2 pair that I liked and the person who helped me was very patient and knowledgeable. He warned me that the wait time for Oakley to finish the glasses could be 7 to 10 days which it was. Cant fault target optical for that. I went in two more times to pick up the two sets of glasses. Each time the staff was very attentive. I wont be dreading going to the eye doctor anymore. And Kudos to Dr. Thach and his team. I will definitely go back when i have any optical needs. read more

I was visiting my grandkids when I accidentally scratched my right eye, it was painful; watering and my vision impaired. I needed to see someone right away. Not familiar with the area I called the optometry department inside the nearest Target ( Daly City ) because it was 7:15pm I considered that to be my best choice, I spoke with Myla who was awesome and genuinely concerned. She told me Dr Thach had just left but she said she would try help me. Myla called me back in 5mins to tell me Dr Thach would see me. The Dr was great he examined my eye relieved my pain and told me to return the next day for a recheck. I can't say enough about Myla the staff and of course Dr Thach. read more

I came here extremely excited to get a new pair of glasses. I'm not sure if they get commission, but they we're extremely pushy, and were clearly sales women. I've worked in the service industry in the past and one thing I cannot stand is fake salespeople. The woman who sold me my glasses was very informative and helpful, but I just wasn't digging the sales vibe. My fiance had an appointment the following week with the optometrist, and said she was great, unfortunately I can't vouch for her. What really irritated me was when I returned to pick up my glasses. The woman helping me adjust them couldn't have been more disinterested. She didn't ask me to stand and wasn't even talking to me while she was adjusting them. She was too busy paying attention to people coming into the store and greeting them. This place is a life-saver! I came here a day after I broke my glasses. Being blind as a bat, I freaked out and obvi didn't want to pay $500 for new frames + lens at Lenscrafters. Luckily, I saw online that Target Optical has a whole bunch of promos going on right now. All the ladies here are suuuper friendly and very helpful. I made an appointment with the doctor who is also very nice and QUICK! I was in and out in 15 mins for a new patient appt. I picked out my frames and the sweet young lady who checked me out helped me maximize my discounts. The process of getting new glasses was so seamless that my boyfriend decided to get a new pair as I was checking out, and they were able to squeeze an appt in for him a half hour later! PRICE BREAKDOWN: The normal eye exam is $55 (but they accept lots of insurances so this could be covered). It would've normally been $170 for a pair of Raybans + $285 for my high-index lens (told you I was blind) = $455 total. BUT they were having a promo if you spend $100 on a different optical product then you get 50% off the frames+lens total. So I bought a couple boxes of contacts since I needed to refill them anyways, so I got 50% off my $455 = $227.50! Further discount if you use your RedCard! If you don't need contact lens or sunglasses, there's also a promo for 50% off lens if you buy a pair of frames. They estimated our glasses to be ready in 7-14 days but we got a call 5 days later that they were ready to be picked up! Everything looks great and we love them. Thanks ladies! read more

I came here once a few months ago for an overdue checkup. The doctor was friendly and answered my questions but I felt a lot of pressure to buy glasses even though the doctor said they were just a light recommendation. I was showed several $500+ pairs of glasses and finally got out of it by just saying I needed a second opinion. Very pushy. I was also charged a copay of $20 even though I'm fairly certain I have one fully covered appointment a year. I would have shrugged the whole thing off but I just got a letter in the mail from my insurance saying they were late to bill and that I might still receive another bill. I'm shocked they have so many good reviews and to be honest, its why I came here. so lets get right down to it. - they are unorganized. - you walk in and you WILL wait...even if you made an appointment because the team are so unorganized they will be doing 4 things at once. - after taking my eye test and confirming what I need...they ordered the wrong glasses. This wound't be so bad...except its been 3 weeks now and no one knows where my replacements are...BUT THEY ARE HERE...but just in a void...somewhere. They sound frazzled when you call. Like they don't know what to handle first. How do you lose someones glasses...the office isn't that big. and its pretty well organized as far as space... I got two calls today...one from the manager. When I pressed on why it was so difficult to get my order right and let me know whats going on...she had LITERALLY NO ANSWER... she was quiet and just kept repeating tht she called to get an idea of what was happening with my order. listen...look up my account on your pc there...you will see what's going on with my order. I was skeptical to come to a Target for an optometrist but surprisingly, the service and care is excellent. The only thing that caused me inconvenience is the doctor prescribed me too strong of a degree in my contacts. However, he saw me again for free and adjusted as needed. The floor manager and workers are efficient, friendly and gets the job done. I got my contacts and Dolce and Gabbana glasses. Hayyyyy. I have been here a few times this year so far, and have interacted with every employee that they have. They all are exceptional, and I had very positive experiences. I'm reading some of these older posts, about the staff being pushy to make sales. I didn't see that to be the case at all. In fact, my last two visits were free of charge, since they were appointments made just to match me up with the right contact lenses. I just left today with 4 days worth of contact lenses, a bottle of soution/contact case, and hydrating eye drops that they gave me to practice with. These visits included exams, troubleshooting, and training with contact lenses. They went above and beyond what I expected, to help me out to the end. read more
