I was referred by my optometrist in SSF as mine is going to retire soon. I came to Lum Optometry for the first time and I was greeted by the staff warmly. I was shopping for a few sunglasses and reading glasses, and man, I really liked their selection. They had both high quality glasses from designer brands and budget-friendly brands. I've had good experiences with this office the two times I've been here for annual eye exams. Office staff are friendly, warm, and welcoming. I feel that they respect my time and do their best to be thorough and efficient. The eye exam starts off with some tests with the optometric technician. They go over your medical history, glasses usage, current comfort/fit, and any issues. They also test for colorblindness, depth perception, and peripheral vision (through VR). I'd never done any of these tests before coming to this office, which makes me think that their exams are more comprehensive. This is also when they do the autorefractor machine with the little red house in the distance, as well as the retina image. Then you are moved to the actual exam room with the doctor. Dr. Lum obviously knows his stuff but can come off as a bit rushed or pushy FYI. I don't really mind because I feel that as long as he's keeping me aware of any issues and giving me an accurate prescription, I'm good. It does feel hard to have the space/time to ask questions or probe into what he's sharing because he's moving a million miles a minute, so just keep that in mind if it's not your preferred style. I was in and out of his exam room within 15 minutes. Overall I'm happy with my experiences here especially given the proximity to my home. It would be very easy to improve the overall quality of the experience if the doctor can just slow down a bit and come off as more empathetic and patient. read more

Super sweet reception and assistant!! Overall the service was great and they helped me out so much I felt very comfortable during and after the appointment. I ordered my glasses and the got to me pretty quick !! Prices are a bit high but they're understandable, there's also a lot of options for glasses with different price points as well. read more

Great Optometry, specially the support staff and front office. They are very helpful, friendly and professional, not to mention accommodating -- which makes the whole establishment shine compared to the rest. I came in for an exam since I haven't had one since before the pandemic and most likely needed an update on my prescription. I got myself the prescription for glasses and a week later, for contacts after the trial period for a new type lenses. I also got a pare of glasses and ordered some contact lenses. Prices are competitive - however, you visit them for the GREAT SERVICE! Dr. Lum is also very knowledgeable and thorough with his diagnosis and examination. If I had to say one thing though, I felt very rushed and out the door quickly. I am aware that time, specially for a business, is very valuable so fitting a lot of patients in a schedule is a must. He can give you a ton of information and prescribe what he perceives to be your need. However my suggestion is if he can spend a little time and allow the patient to speak and listen to what their needs and wants so that he can have a better idea of what to provide. This in itself would improve a better establishment to best. Dr. Lum is an incredible healthcare professional. The team there is also top class. I came in at first with just a need to get new glasses since my previous doctor had closed their office. Right away I knew this office was different! From the care I received when refracting my vision, to the retina scans, to the eye glass choosing and fitting, I can't say enough about how comfortable the whole process was. It didn't feel like I was walking into a merchandise trap. Instead I was just with people who cared about my eyes and what I wanted. I also have a pretty extensive eye health history and being able to see and discuss it with Dr. Lum has been a huge weight on my shoulders. He's always available to examine and help me better understand what I'm worried about and he takes the time to make sure I feel comfortable with my choices. This is my first and last time here. I had my eye exam and purchased a pair of prescription sunglasses. I was rushed into making a decision and I was asked to pay on the spot without seeing itemized charges. A few days later, I got a call requesting $11 more for a charge they forgot about regarding to large frame. When I went there to pick up my prescription sunglasses, I noticed the non-prescription lenses do not come with it. They failed to inform me the prices do not come with the lenses yet a lot of people ask the same thing. Upon closer inspection, I see a tiny air bubble in the prescription sunglasses lens, They are not willing to do anything and I cannot be more disappointed with my experience here. read more

I was used to other offices that had you shuffling in and out like an assembly line, so I was shocked at the attentive care and amount of time Dr Lum and the optician staff took to fine tune my glasses. I went to Lum Optometry today for my annual eye exam. It's been two years and I was due! This is my first time here and there was tons of parking! Wow. I was very impressed with their welcome guidance. The doctor was so thorough and didn't rush me at all. For it being a Saturday appointment I did expect them to be busy but I didn't feel like a nuisance as I browsed for the perfect glasses. They let me look at any frames I wanted and didn't push a sale. The office is decorated with Disney decor which makes for a fun feel. They also had two massaging chairs available in waiting! What a great experience for a big decision for daily eyewear. I'm looking for my new glasses soon! read more
