So, am about to be headed on a two week out of country trip, when my glasses get broken in half at…read morea freak accident at work. After a frantic trip to the eye doctor to get an updated prescription, the doctor recommended Optical Express. I'm desperate, so I head over. First off, the staff is so nice! He answered any and all questions I had, and was very patient as I picked out some new frames. Their frame selection isn't huge, but they have a nice variety and I quickly found something I liked. My prescription is *terrible* so they didn't have glass in for my fancy transition lenses I usually get, but he offered to order in the lenses and offered to put in basic glass and switch them out when the fancier, thinner lenses were ready. He was very fast getting the initial lenses ready, said it would probably take an hour or two but only took maybe 30 minutes. They give you a glasses cleaning rag and a small bottle of glasses cleaning spray that you can get refilled when it's used up. All in all, I definitely recommend this place, and I'll probably be making them my go to glasses store in the future!

Instead of checking his vision immediately, he was told to wear them for 2 weeks. He had them adjusted while he was there. I checked them when he got home and noticed a small crack in the lens by the nose piece. He agreed to wear them but honest couldn't see with them. I called and asked for a glasses check. We couldnt wait for an appointment so we went up there. The gray haired lady told us that we must have made the crack in the lens. I asked for my money back and they refused. She then became very rude so I asked to speak to the Dr . but was told no. we spent a lot of money there for glasses we can't use. I advise against going to this business. I have worked in ophthamology for over 15 years and we would have never treated a customer that way.

The exam felt thorough and he was receptive to questions and offered good advice on various types of glasses, even comparing what they had available vs others. I ended up going with the Wal-Mart glasses, my plan paid for most of everything. The most expensive pair of glasses out of pocket for what I needed was about 500 but they had several much less expensive options. Wal-Mart does not make in-house glasses. They are mail order which saves money. My expected wait is about 8 to 10 days. We shall see. If later, I'll return to post that. So, if you want them today, go to a different shop. The Optician was up front about the wait. Liked his open honesty. The folks out front selling/fitting frames were knowledgeable and professional. P.S. I got the toughest recommended frames (outdoor work) and the price was great, about 134. If they turn out differently than expected, will return and post that.
