Waza Home Comfort looked like the best place to suit our needs, and I can now say that Waza is a terrific service to turn to for all of your HVAC needs! Stephen, our consultant, was very clear and direct in his explanations, and went over all of the financials with us. Buying a furnace is no joke, and lightens your bank account considerably. Living off the grid was looking very tempting, but Stephen walked us through the process of applying for a government grant for our new, energy efficient heat pump. We were successful, and received the grant, which lightened our load. When it came time to do the actual technical work, our technicians, Arek and Brad, were top notch. There was another technician, whose name I didn't get, and he was great too. They showed us how everything works, how to use our new thermostat, and explained how to arrange proper servicing or our new furnace and heat pump/air conditioner. Bonus: they are OK with dogs!! We have two friendly but large dogs, and the guys weren't afraid! Our home is warm now, thanks to WAZA, They helped us every step of the way to a climate controlled house, and know how to handle people who are stressed because the furnace dies. Husky replaced our HVAC several years ago, and we never had a problem with our furnace. Last week, I noticed the temperature dropped a few degrees, and it took a long time for the heat to come back up. This never happened before, even when our weather was colder. I turned the furnace on and off, and restarted the thermostat, which did the trick, but I noticed it was misbehaving again. It was -26ºC this past weekend, and I called the afterhours service department. We discussed the situation and rates, but I made a judgement call to wait until Monday for a technician to visit. We had mini electric heaters in case the temperature dropped dramatically. On Monday morning, the office called to say our regular technician who I requested was unavailable, but they would send someone else right away. The furnace decided to play nice by the time the technician arrived - don't you hate when that happens? After checking the furnace and thermostat, he wasn't able to find any issues, but he did show me how to spot an error code for future reference. We always have our HVAC maintained by Husky, and find their service is friendly and efficient. I'm just grateful a technician came out so quickly, and that our furnace is working fine now!

We called them late on Tuesday and they suggested they come and do a maintenance. They booked us for the following day. Glad we did. It turns out we had a blocked drain. Gregor cleaned it up and then then did a service on the unit. Was a very reasonable price and I feel like Husky really came through for us. No surprise there. Dmitri and his team did a great job on the original install. Highly recommend them for your air con and heating needs. They service the GTA. Note - they gave us a window for the service call and then called when they were on the way to us.

I advise you NOT to work with this company. They were dishonest in their dealings with us…read more We had problems with our furnace shutting off during a recent cold spell. We called Hoerner Heating (which has now been purchased by Dr HVAC) as we had dealt with them before and liked their service. Their technician came to the house on Thursday morning and told us that the furnace was shutting off because it was overheating (which was accurate). They said It was overheating because the unit was too large for the area it was heating, and the furnace immediately required a new gas valve and limit switch as well as cleaning of the blower motor and secondary heat exchanger. This would cost $2405 plus hst; and this was just the beginning, the immediate repairs required. Then there was option B in their report: System Restoration & Enhancements (Option B): "During my evaluation, I noticed extreme temperature stress points on the heat exchanger and the venter motor is overamping. These are still in safe operation but when they fail, they will cost around $4800". A new furnace was probably the more cost effective approach. A sales person from Dr HVAC came by that afternoon. Dr HVAC coincidentally had a spot they were looking to fill the next morning, Friday, and could offer us a new furnace installation at a special cost of $6000. We declined their offer as we do not make large purchase decisions under pressure, without research and a minimum of 3 quotes. Our furnace is SIX years old and still under warranty. This was never mentioned. We called Carrier the furnace manufacturer and asked if a limit switch and gas valve was covered under warranty. Yes it was but we would have to deal with a repair company that had a contract with Carrier and could find one listed on their website. We contacted Dupont heating and A/C who is listed on Carrier's website. We told them we believed we needed a new gas valve and limit switch. They came Friday morning. According to their technician, there was nothing wrong with the gas valve or limit switch, both were working fine. The only issue was the gas pressure coming into the furnace which needed to be reduced. We did NOT need any new parts for the furnace and we most certainly did NOT need a new furnace. All DR HVAC technicians must be on commission. They are very pleasant to deal with, and very convincing, but you cannot believe a word they say. They charge the lowest initial diagnostic fee but, be warned, you may pay far more than you need to if you work with them.
