We started looking at various companies before the peak time hit and received quotes from three places. Artisan came in with an extremely competitive price and I'm not going to lie, it made me a little nervous. I had read the reviews for Artisan on Yelp so I reached out to a couple of my fellow Yelpers to ask them about their satisfaction with the company. I knew they wouldn't fail me and of course, they didn't. We chose to go with Artisan and we were able to get scheduled surprisingly fast. Unfortunately, the day came and rain was in the forecast. When the two gentlemen showed up, they said they would only be able to do the indoor part of the work and would schedule to come back in the next day or two to finish. Thankfully, the weather held so they forged ahead and were able to get everything done. (Just in the nick of time too because the heavens opened up only minutes after they left!) The next few days were cool so we weren't able to test it out but then the heatwave hit and we were as cool as cucumbers! Well, they actually recommended Prima Air, who has now part of the Martino Group of Companies. Communications with Martino were very good: We started by submitting an inquiry on the website. That was followed-up by a friendly phone call, and then they paged someone to give us a quote on a Saturday afternoon! The installers from Martino were clean, thorough, and did a really nice job installing a new, high-efficiency Goodman furnace. They even noticed an error in the installation of our Reliance Hot Water tank, and fixed it at no extra cost! I strongly recommend their services!

Last week I was contacted by J, a Martino employee, to once again book my annual furnace cleaning. I explained what happened last time when C contacted me. J checked and confirmed that I am off their client list - no warning, no recommendations for a new company to service my heating and cooling equipment, nothing. If you are a loyal customer, be aware that this could potentially happen to you. I really thought I was set for life with a great company. I am beyond disappointed at being so unprofessionally kicked to the curb like this, do better Martino.

Our furnace was "red tagged" on November 28 after a routine maintenance call. There were varying stories about whether the heat exchanger was under warranty or not. We called the manufacturer, Carrier, on December 2nd for clarification. They passed on the details of our situation to a dealer and within 2 hours Hargrave called us and shortly after sent a technician to our house. He explained that the repair would cost significantly less than other companies had quoted and he also provided a quote on a new unit also at a significantly lower price on the same model furnace. We opted for the new furnace and the installers were out early the next day and completed the job quickly and efficiently. We have been telling our friends and family about our experience and praising the responsiveness and honesty that your company has demonstrated. They followed up the next day to ensure that we were satisfied with the work that was done. Very impressive! Going forward, Hargrave is the only company we will be dealing with for our heating and air conditioning needs. They also have a comprehensive selection of protection and maintenance plans! I like huskies (dogs), but I love Husky Heating and Air Conditioning more! Our weather has been…read moredreadfully cold, with temperatures around the -25ºC mark, with the wind chill (-13ºF). Husky replaced our HVAC several years ago, and we never had a problem with our furnace. Last week, I noticed the temperature dropped a few degrees, and it took a long time for the heat to come back up. This never happened before, even when our weather was colder. I turned the furnace on and off, and restarted the thermostat, which did the trick, but I noticed it was misbehaving again. It was -26ºC this past weekend, and I called the afterhours service department. We discussed the situation and rates, but I made a judgement call to wait until Monday for a technician to visit. We had mini electric heaters in case the temperature dropped dramatically. On Monday morning, the office called to say our regular technician who I requested was unavailable, but they would send someone else right away. The furnace decided to play nice by the time the technician arrived - don't you hate when that happens? After checking the furnace and thermostat, he wasn't able to find any issues, but he did show me how to spot an error code for future reference. We always have our HVAC maintained by Husky, and find their service is friendly and efficient. I'm just grateful a technician came out so quickly, and that our furnace is working fine now!

We called them late on Tuesday and they suggested they come and do a maintenance. They booked us for the following day. Glad we did. It turns out we had a blocked drain. Gregor cleaned it up and then then did a service on the unit. Was a very reasonable price and I feel like Husky really came through for us. No surprise there. Dmitri and his team did a great job on the original install. Highly recommend them for your air con and heating needs. They service the GTA. Note - they gave us a window for the service call and then called when they were on the way to us.

I advise you NOT to work with this company. They were dishonest in their dealings with us…read more We had problems with our furnace shutting off during a recent cold spell. We called Hoerner Heating (which has now been purchased by Dr HVAC) as we had dealt with them before and liked their service. Their technician came to the house on Thursday morning and told us that the furnace was shutting off because it was overheating (which was accurate). They said It was overheating because the unit was too large for the area it was heating, and the furnace immediately required a new gas valve and limit switch as well as cleaning of the blower motor and secondary heat exchanger. This would cost $2405 plus hst; and this was just the beginning, the immediate repairs required. Then there was option B in their report: System Restoration & Enhancements (Option B): "During my evaluation, I noticed extreme temperature stress points on the heat exchanger and the venter motor is overamping. These are still in safe operation but when they fail, they will cost around $4800". A new furnace was probably the more cost effective approach. A sales person from Dr HVAC came by that afternoon. Dr HVAC coincidentally had a spot they were looking to fill the next morning, Friday, and could offer us a new furnace installation at a special cost of $6000. We declined their offer as we do not make large purchase decisions under pressure, without research and a minimum of 3 quotes. Our furnace is SIX years old and still under warranty. This was never mentioned. We called Carrier the furnace manufacturer and asked if a limit switch and gas valve was covered under warranty. Yes it was but we would have to deal with a repair company that had a contract with Carrier and could find one listed on their website. We contacted Dupont heating and A/C who is listed on Carrier's website. We told them we believed we needed a new gas valve and limit switch. They came Friday morning. According to their technician, there was nothing wrong with the gas valve or limit switch, both were working fine. The only issue was the gas pressure coming into the furnace which needed to be reduced. We did NOT need any new parts for the furnace and we most certainly did NOT need a new furnace. All DR HVAC technicians must be on commission. They are very pleasant to deal with, and very convincing, but you cannot believe a word they say. They charge the lowest initial diagnostic fee but, be warned, you may pay far more than you need to if you work with them.
