Property management was easy to deal with but then again was never late on rent and only had to have maintenance come to the apartment once. The walls are thin so be ready to hear everything all your neighbors are doing on. Doesn't matter if they are across the hall, right next to you, or live above you; you'll hear them like they are screaming in your living room. Also, be prepared for your neighbors to just buzz anyone in without checking to see who it is, even though property management had a no soliciting policy and sign always got door to door sales people peddling a scam. Plus while I was there, there was a home invasion, the perps got in because they rung each apartment in the building until someone buzzed them in without checking. Not the managements fault they put the security measure in place and people are just too lazy to use it properly. Get a PO box if you have mail larger than an envelope coming to you. Postman will leave anything that doesn't fit in the tiny mailboxes out in the lobby, had a few packages stolen from the lobby and from my front door, until I got my PO set up. Again, not managements problem not like they can tell a thief from a credit check. Though if asked office staff will hold packages at the office for you until you pick them up which they don't have to do but is helpful. Plenty of washers and dryers to use except when someone decides to hog them all for the day, usually someone with their whole family and extended family crammed into a 3 bedroom apartment. When I was there management would put a stop to it, if something was said but there was a laundry mat down the street and was cheaper to use. Really just your typical apartment living rants but enough to mention. When I moved out got all my security deposit back, which was great. All in all the staff was helpful and nice, probably would have stayed if the rent hadn't kept going up.

I could go on forever about all of the awful experiences I had living here, from children running loose in the parking lot asking me for money to buy bikes, to management being impossible to contact unless you're lucky enough to go to the office when they're actually in person. This review reflects my honest personal experience living in this apartment, and all statements are based on what I personally observed and experienced. I have never been this dissatisfied by an apartment. I have never felt so unheard by management when experiencing a major issue with my apartment. We paid luxury prices for one of the worst apartment experiences I've had in over a decade. Within a week of moving here, we knew we had made the wrong decision renting at the Groves. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I found the leasing office extremely difficult to work with, and we felt our concerns were not addressed in a timely or effective way. It has been a maddening experience trying to resolve any issues with them, and the back and forth has been incredibly frustrating. You can only talk to them directly IN PERSON because their phone system reroutes you to a call center. It has been a nightmare for us trying to get our deposit back. Here's a short list of things we dealt with during the one year we rented here: * Our apartment frequently felt overheated, especially due to the boiler room below us. * We noticed thin walls that sound traveled through very well. We heard frequent dog barking and children screaming. * We frequently noticed strong odors in the hallways, including what smelled like marijuana. * We heard kids screaming outside nearly all day long from the school nearby. * We saw roaming groups of children and teens riding their bikes and playing in the active parking lots at all hours of the day and night, including throwing balls near the cars. * We often observed outside access doors being propped open, which made us feel the building was less secure and led to a solicitor coming to our door. I feel I could talk endlessly about the cons of living at this complex. We were not able to rent the apartment we initially chose that appeared as available on their website at the time. We ended up having to choose a different apartment because no other units were available within our move-in timeframe. This apartment happened to be the one above a boiler room. We had to run our AC units in January because the colder it was outside, the hotter the boiler room got to heat the other apartments and made our apartment an oven. We had to run multiple fans throughout the apartment in the summer, and it was still a miserable temperature in there. We paid nearly $400 two months in a row on our energy bill just to keep our apartment livable this past year. Mind you, this apartment was less than 1,000 sq ft. When we first moved in, we communicated the overheating issue to the office. We did not receive any meaningful follow-up for about six months. They had an outside contractor put insulation around the pipes that ran right below our floor, but it did not correct the problem. When we were offered to move into another unit, I called my fiancé to make sure we were both okay with that. I tried to call back not even five minutes later and was unable to get a hold of anyone. My fiancé and I tried multiple times to call back that day without success. We also emailed them immediately but were told they had already leased it to someone else in that time. We frequently heard a lot of noise from above us and from the hallways. We often heard dogs barking and babies crying from the other side of the building. Our upstairs neighbors frequently played loud music, and the smell of marijuana made its way into our apartment through shared vents in the bathroom on many occasions. My life has improved in so many ways now that I no longer have to live there. I cannot wait to finally have our deposit back so I can put this entire chapter behind me and never have to talk to these people again. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

We sold our house 4 years ago and stayed in Quincy in an apartment complex and decided it was time to move out of Quincy. The rental agent was very nice and took us to look at many apartments. We had never had an issue with paying a much higher rent, but we had to keep supplying information to verify that our monthly income was 3x the amount of the apartment. Because we didn't use one of the "big banks", we had to have our financials sent to us from the bank, employers, etc. and we would forward this information to the rental office. It would take 3-4 days to hear back saying they couldn't open the attachment. This took us 1 month and at the end we were told we didn't meet the monthly amount. We were in a time crunch, my husband asked what the criteria was that they used and once he had it, he found that they did not include all of our financial information. We called the rental staff several times and we left messages for a manager to call us back, but no phone calls were returned. It was all very frustrating. We were able to find a place that we love and are very happy. Funny thing is, we surpassed 3x the monthly income requirement for a similarly priced apartment.

We moved out on the December 20th and did not receive our security deposit. On January 17th I emailed to ask the date of when it was cut and sent out , also an explanation for a move out fee. She refused to give me a date, stated it was sent within the lawful 20days, and told me to contact the 3rd party utility service company for explanation. This was after serval unanswered and blocked emails. I will state I called her out on her attitude and she stated she was uncomfortable talking to me further. She provoked my response to get out of further lying to me and to incriminate herself/company. She is a toxic person that uses gaslighting and manipulation to intimidate you and undermine your concerns of their actual violations. I received the check today, which was dated and postmarked January 17th. So it wasn't sent within the 20days. Also the great reviews on google and company website were generated by ReNew for a contest to win a tablet.... Go visit the recycling area from Saturday through Wednesday and it will convey the slumlord runnings of this company. I met him here about 3 weeks later I expected to see what was in the picture. An apartment with lots of light and stainless steel appliances, just a warm place to be. What I got was a dark dingy looking place that I didn't even want my dog to have to live in. I have been here about, on and off a total of 14 months. I say on and off because I throw in the towel and go home every time something happens I went home when I went into the closet to get one of my purses I collect and found mildew on them. I came back was my husband is here. We have 2 air conditioners full of mold and the place is crawling with spiders and other crawly things. I think the thing that will chase me home for good now is one evening I was in the kitchen and I had a mouse walk in front of my feet and then go on his way. Ever since then I have had to wash the mice droppings out of anything that is in the drawer under the stove, or the lower cupboards. Or run the risk of getting really sick. Two days ago I had 3 mice walk lined up, in a row, from one side of the kitchen to the other. The person moved out upstairs from me, and for at least the past 4 days, longer, I have been treated to workers banging, pounding, loud talking and music blaring starting at around 8am. I work nights and have not slept in days I have called their office here 4 times, with no response. They respect the tenants so little that you don't even rate a call back. They are running an ad to rent apartments and my husband thought it was a good deal, and he went for it. But, by the time they were finished with all of the extra charges including charges for things we do not even use the apartment price swelled to nearly $2000 a month. So, I sit here writing this and listening to all of the banging, wondering who will move in upstairs and make it more unbearable with noise. So this is how I feel and what i am going through as I write this. Its not doing me any good now, but if I can make someone change their mind and not rent here, then my review helped.
