It's your typical apartment complex run by a property management company. Lived there two years but…read morehad to move because the rent kept going up. Property management was easy to deal with but then again was never late on rent and only had to have maintenance come to the apartment once. The walls are thin so be ready to hear everything all your neighbors are doing on. Doesn't matter if they are across the hall, right next to you, or live above you; you'll hear them like they are screaming in your living room. Also, be prepared for your neighbors to just buzz anyone in without checking to see who it is, even though property management had a no soliciting policy and sign always got door to door sales people peddling a scam. Plus while I was there, there was a home invasion, the perps got in because they rung each apartment in the building until someone buzzed them in without checking. Not the managements fault they put the security measure in place and people are just too lazy to use it properly. Get a PO box if you have mail larger than an envelope coming to you. Postman will leave anything that doesn't fit in the tiny mailboxes out in the lobby, had a few packages stolen from the lobby and from my front door, until I got my PO set up. Again, not managements problem not like they can tell a thief from a credit check. Though if asked office staff will hold packages at the office for you until you pick them up which they don't have to do but is helpful. Plenty of washers and dryers to use except when someone decides to hog them all for the day, usually someone with their whole family and extended family crammed into a 3 bedroom apartment. When I was there management would put a stop to it, if something was said but there was a laundry mat down the street and was cheaper to use. Really just your typical apartment living rants but enough to mention. When I moved out got all my security deposit back, which was great. All in all the staff was helpful and nice, probably would have stayed if the rent hadn't kept going up.

Tenants smoke in the breezeways every night and it seeps into other residences (management doesn't…read morecare). Place smells like Bob Marley and Wiz Khalifa had a baby. Non-residents leave their cars parked in already limited parking spots for weeks at a time, and able-bodied residents with no handicap tag park in the handicap spots every day and every night. A guide to living in Chestnut Farm Apartments: Don't bring any nice shoes because you will be dodging dog droppings on the daily. After you enjoy viewing the tainted-green pool liner while basking on the 20-year-old chaise lounges, you can treck through the hazardous terrain to feast your eyes on Mt. Dumpster. If you decide to visit Mt. Dumpster after it rains, BRING YOUR WADERS to get through the mud. Bring your ice skates after a freeze and consider a snowmobile after the snow. There is no paved path to the mountain so conditions are hazardous. The complex includes a Time Machine to 1999 they call the fitness center. Here you get to experience crusty vintage gym equipment over a brown carpet while you marinate in the must. Don't forget to bring your own hand sanitizer, a hook to hang your coat, and dumbbells (there is only one set of mis-matched dumbbells available). No matter the amount of complaints or suggestions, management will do nothing. What they will always be sure to do is to leave your lease renewal letter with a generous increase of only $100/mo for a declining quality of a "home." You wont have much time to capture photos of all of these experiences because you will be leaving faster than you entered. If you enjoy living in slime, Chestnut Farm Apartments is the place for you (and likely any other Winn Residential). The only good thing you'll have to watch out for here is the maintenance crew. They are so helpful and do a great job keeping up given the circumstances of their careless managers.

Constantly being rudely woken up at early hours of the morning. Kids constantly running above me. Neighbors who don't want to respect other people's peace. Management and maintenance not wanting to do their jobs or deal with the problems people are having with their other neighbors. I really thought this was gonna be the last place I would move to and be able to live here for a while. But that went out the window when they decided to make cuts and get rid of the one person who could things in order. It has been one headache after another. This is now way to live in an apartment. Damn neighbor next door to me won't let maintenance come in and fix her smoke detector, which has been beeping of and on for two weeks and now probably gonna go on for three weeks, especially since maintenance and management don't know how to stand their ground and just get in there & fix it. Also the setup for the smoke detectors in this place is way off. The smoke detectors shouldn't be so high up. They should be at a level so people can easily change the batteries instead of waiting for maintenance to come in with a ladder to be able to change the batteries. The first landlord I had at this apartment complex actually dealt with the problem, unlike the current landlord Nichole Paine. A really paine in my ***. This place needs help. And all the young people in here need to check their attitudes at the door. Also people with real physical disabilities that need help should not be living here at all.

DO NOT LIVE HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE TO. So to start off, me and my wife have lived here for almost 2…read moreyears. It has not been pleasant whatsoever. We are finally moving out and feel comfortable to write this review. There are ALOT of people here living with affordable housing and a bunch of kids and what not. Some people are paying as low as $560 for an apartment while me and my wife are paying 2 grand for a 1 bedroom basement unit. The first week we lived there we were met with tons of ants and problems with the unit. The base of the door to the bedroom was held on with duct tape and the drains were clogged with hair. We gave up with maintenance because they always wanted to come at inconvenient times. There is also no AC unit in the bedroom, so in the summer you better have a fan or something. The pool that they boast about? Well forget about it because the people with a bunch of kids overtake it in the summer and treat it like it's Disney world. The washers and dryers barely dry anything. There are also no assigned parking spots, so after a 12 hour shift you come back to your complex just to find no availability for parking because someone who doesn't even work and lives for free is deciding to throw a party in their apartment on a Thursday night and is taking up all the spots. We got a letter a few months ago with our lease renewal offer.. keep in mind that we live in a 750 sq foot 1 bedroom apartment in the BASEMENT....the offer was for $2250. Tell me how this is okay? We have never missed a single payment and actually pride ourselves on paying early every month, and what do we get rewarded with? Paying more than EVERY single tenant that lives there. Last year our apartment flooded because of negligence on the property owner who didn't realize one of the drains was clogged outside the building. I called them repeatedly with no response. So what did they do you might ask? They put about 5 dehumidifiers in our apartment for a week. Do you think that was pleasant? No not at all. You would think they would say "sorry for the inconvenience, here is a break on your rent for next month" or something along those lines. They don't care, we are nothing but cash cows for them. If you are a reliable, responsible tenant then do not live here, you will be punished and used. I am also going to post this everywhere in hopes that nobody has the same experiences as we did. Tenants also will just leave their aggressive dogs off the leash with no repercussions. This complex is about 1 step above being homeless. We are so happy to finally get out of this place. When you try to contact them you get nothing but crickets, but as soon as they need to contact you they're Johny on the spot. Garbage.

The office…read morehere, in the lobby stays locked unless security needs to check private camera footage, even occasionally allowing special tenants to view it with them. The only problem with this is it is then talked about by the favored tenant to other tenants which is quickly spread throughout the building like high school kids, with the information Changing as it goes down the line of community gossip. Beautiful building built with a ginormous grant fund only to look worse & worse from not following proper guidelines, regular maintenance & tuneup service by vendors who specialize with things like the Daikin HVAC ventilation Heating & Cooling system. AC doesn't work properly for years, ventilation system broken from not being professionally maintained & cleaned yearly or as Daikin requires for the buildings specific unit. The parcel 6A land is polluted & always flooding, sprinkler system stopped working 2 years ago, they're in the ground throughout the entire property & operated on a timer, but with anything, they need to be inspected by professionals regularly to determine what needs replacing or fixing to keep it running efficiently. I'm under the assumption they don't what is needed & necessary to save and make more money. Everything the grant paid for was expensive bc it's ALL supposed be be extremely energy efficient BUT what good is it if the owners and partnship doesn't hire enough people for both offices to have property management on site and more than 4 maintenance workers for to handle BOTH PROPERTIES and town houses??? It keeps coming down to expenses & something needs to give bc if they can't hire & afford to keep what the grant built in working order then something's wrong. They absolutely have connections throughout HUD & the City bc the list of stuff all of us tenants talk about constantly with frustration & confusion about how they can possibly get away with the things that occur & don't occur is mind boggling. I don't even see the 1 cleaning lady anymore, it's been 4 years here for me and not once has anyone shampoos the smelly hallway rugs, have Daikin specialists check the heating ac unit running through every unit along the ceiling. These things need to be adjusted yearly, I've spent hours reading everything on this buildings system on the Daikin website & the owners haven't once
