I had such a great experience at this spot in Oxford! The environment is honestly what sold me first -- super inviting, good energy, and the kind of vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. We left the LSU game a little early to go to this Italian restaurant with our daughter a sophomore at OleMiss. We had a reservation which I recommend. It was empty until the game was over and then every table was full. We loved the food, the service and the dim lighting which made it feel like a mom and pop Italian place. Server was great. Food is DISGUSTING. The chicken parm was UNDERCOOKED and caused me to be sick (photo attached). The server was really sweet but wasn't greeted by any management to deal with the issue. She did comp the meal and replaced it so I got spaghetti. You are better off eating stoffers. We absolutely love this place. Typically. Been going here for years. Last week the Caesar was average. An odd flavor. But we are super choosy Caesar eaters. Super super tiny small size. Let me emphasize this.. the Caesar was embarrassingly small. . And barely a dressing at all. LOTS of room for improvement here. We love their cocktails. Lemon drop Is amazing. Service is fantastic. The salmon was an enormous portion but really good. 8/10. And super picky salmon eater. Excellent mashed potatoes. Free bread service is yummie. We send pics to our DIL every time since that's her favorite bread place. The fettuccini was not good. At all. Costco fettuccini is sadly better! And their chicken parm is pretty terrible. Lots of room for improvement here. Get it going Ravioli of the day was very good. And I absolutely love the bolognese. But it is not a traditional bolognese. It got cream in it. Which again I love. Used the restroom when we first arrived. The bathroom was nasty for lack of a better word. Even the faucet was not attached to the counter. If the bathroom is not immaculate it really makes me wonder about the kitchen. Food was served on plastic plates. You should never serve hot food on a cold plate. As a part-time resident of Oxford, I've always heard great things about Lenora's and was excited to try it. I wish I could leave a glowing review but my experience was less than glowing... Let me say, the service was very good; our waiter was professional and mostly responsive to our requests. The hostess was also kind. The food itself was not good. I ordered the blackened grouper which was very overcooked. It came with cheesy grits, which were decadent; as all cheesy grits are. Brussels sprouts were part of the entrée as well and were tough and undercooked. The other issue: the noise level in Lenora's. It's one large dining room. Unfortunately we were sandwiched between a table of 16 celebrating a birthday and another table of very loud talkers on the other side, plus a full dining room. We did ask our server to move us but he said there were no other available tables ( even though we could clearly see 3 available tables farther out from where we were seated). Overall this was a very disappointing experience- we will not return. read more

Came here several times on business and never had a poor food experience. Sometimes the waits, have felt a little long, but the food and company have always more than made up for this. I don't drink, but my co-workers always expressed satisfaction and I can speak about the complimentary bread which was always fresh and fantastic! The menu is pretty extensive and periodically changes--some of my favorites have been their salmon and pastas. Lenora's is worth a visit if in the Oxford area. read more

Lenora's is AWESOME!! I love coming to restaurants that are as personal as this one. Our server was a young man who was quit attentive and our food was fantastic! I ended up meeting the GM (who is also named Brittany) and the owner Mike. We ended up talking for 10 minutes or so & not even five minutes after they walked off our server told us that they wanted to send out some desserts for us. Such a great experience!!! The service, food and wine were all excellent. The tables were dirty and sticky, there was dirty silverware under our table, and the seat cushions on our booth were filthy. Our party was first to arrive at the restaurant for evening meal. It's very dark inside the restaurant which is probably for the best. I would have given this a 5 had it been clean. read more

I didn't read the other reviews, but I see this as the average testing and I agree. Our waiter was horrible...he just was very unhappy to be there and told us he was "so tired ". His crappy attitude had an impact on our experience and brought the mood down. That really pissed me off. Anyway, everyone liked their meals but the atmosphere was just so-so. Given the fact that we (or you) could potentially get the same waiter, I'd say go somewhere else. read more

In town celebrating an achievement for our college student. We expected it to be busy so we made a reservation. Restaurant was very loud - probably due to several large parties. We waited about an hour and a half for our food and when we checked on the status of our dinner all the waitress had to say was the kitchen was behind and there was nothing she could do. The waitress began to avoid us since we were frustrated with the very long wait which only made the experience worse. It would have been a better experience if we received attentive service throughout our wait. We honestly would have left if we thought there was a reasonable expectation we could get in somewhere else. This is one of my son's favorite restaurants and he's never experienced issues eating here so I'm hoping this was just an isolated experience. read more

My husband and I had the best time at Lenora's last night! We live in Phoenix, but we are in Oxford with family for Homecoming. My mom made the reservation for us. We arrived a little early and sat at the bar to wait for our table. The cocktails were delicious, and the bartender, Cole, was so friendly that we decided to stay at the bar and eat. The barbecue shrimp appetizer was simple and spectacular. The grouper with cheese grits was one of the best fish dishes that I've had in a while. The bolognese was good too, but the seafood was definitely the star of the show. We also really enjoyed the casual atmosphere, and everyone there seemed to be having a great time. Having had two daughters that went to school in Oxford, we've eaten here many, many times over the years. Obviously there will be a wait on game weekends but the food is consistent and they can accommodate large parties with advance notification. I LOVE Lenora's Restaurant! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Oxford, MS! Their food is excellent!! This is definitely fine dining. And as an added bonus, they have really good music playing in the background. The owner is usually there in the evening and sometimes will personally come to your table to see how you're doing. It's located right across the street from the big red courthouse on North Lamar. It's easy to miss if you don't know where you're going because they only have a small stained glass sign out front, so look carefully. You might want to make a reservation on the weekends to ensure you can get a table without a long wait. read more

Took my stepmom here for her birthday at the recommendation of a coworker. We both had the filet with Parmesan potatoes and green beans. They were perfection. We had the crab artichoke dip for appetizer also. We will definitely be going back. Prices were reasonable. Especially for the square area in Oxford where everything seems to be overpriced. Sometimes you stumble into a gem, other times you just stumble. Unfortunately in the case of Lenora's it was more stumble and less gem. The evening started off well enough, a couple of cocktails but the appetizer we wanted, charcuterie board, they said they were out of. Ok I get sometimes you run out of things, meat and cheese is pretty basic but ok. So we ordered, a couple of filets, duck and Crawfish Mac. The crawfish Mac was a bit bland, not bad, not great, just kind of ok. The duck was really fatty and had a large piece of gristle. It said it came with sweet potatoes on the menu but it was served with roasted red potatoes. The filet, again ok, not bad, not great. For the prices charged I would expected a lot more. What made matters worse was despite no one paying attention to Covid, which I get the governor here said no more masks but nothing else has changed - we watched a party sit at a table, open silverware and drink from water glasses and then be reseated to another table as they didn't need as many seats . The staff did not clean or sanitize the table after they left, and actually left the waters that didn't look obviously drunk from - despite our watching others drink from them. They then sat another group at the table. So backwash for the next party, the table not cleaned with anything not even water in between guests. Without Covid this was kind of gross, with Covid potentially deadly. I'm pretty sure basic procedure is to clean after guests leave prior to seating the next group. I can't imagine that you just leave the water for the next group. Makes you wonder about the bread. Just because your governor thinks Covid magically went away, you still have to clean between guests. Yuk read more

Oh my goodness! First of all, we were seated right away at a cute little table. Secondly, our server Angela was FANTASTIC! She offered suggestions and had the sweetest smile. The food was delicious! We had the stuffed mushrooms and artichoke and crab for appetizers. Fabulous!! For entrees we had garlic shrimp and Bolognese. Both were excellent. If I could give Lenora's zero stars I would. The service was bad to start with, the waiter took our drink order, came back and did not even remember who ordered what. We did not see him after we got our drinks for about 20 minutes then he took out food order. We waited for 40 minutes for our food, with no check up or anything. The glasses and plates were still wet, which is lack of effort and poor presentation. After waiting for our food and service, I finally got my food. I ordered the grouper with high hopes, but the fish came out completely cold. I told my server and he looked annoyed and said "I will heat it up for you", meaning they threw my food in a microwave which is so disgusting and still poor service. If they cared I would have receive a new fish. He came back with it two minutes later "heated up" I have never been so disgusting by a place before. I try to give it second chances all the time and I am unsure why because it always disappoints. If you are in Oxford this is the last place on the square you should eat. read more

I had a great meal here my last night in Oxford. Just two blocks north of the old courthouse, it's a bit off the beaten path, but worth a trip. We started with artichoke bottoms and crab cakes for appetizers. Both were delicious. I had a very tasty wedge salad, with bacon and red onions smothered in bleu cheese dressing. For the main course a had the special--an 18 oz. ribeye with a green pepper corn sauce, "smashed" potatoes and broccoli. The steak was served sizzling and was cooked to pink perfection [see photo]. It was juicy, tender, and delicious. The dinner was quite pricey and the place lacks some of the unique ambiance and menu options of some of the better known places in town. Given the classy feel they were going for, I was a little surprised my drink was served in a mason jar. Nevertheless, it was a great meal and I strongly recommend Lenora's. read more
