If you purchase a Mungo Home, you might be stuck with its chosen (possibly family connected) property management company named MJS, evidently owned by Jud Smith. We have found the company's employees often rude and frankly, cannot understand why Clayton Homes, the new owners of Mungo Homes, continues to do business with MJS Management. Be prepared if your neighborhood has to deal with MJS's staff and keep very detailed records. The staff changes often! Al, the guy that is suppose to oversee maintenance, landscaping et al, often didn't follow through do bills are paid when services aren't properly done by subcontractor. Luckily, our Charleston neighborhood on James Island was recently released to property owners so we now have an HOA Board in control. Residents are relieved knowing contract with MJS was discontinued mid-October 2021. A local Charleston property management company has already made a big difference and is saving our HOA money.

They "had" someone come fix the A/C before closing and reinsured us that nothing is going to happen with the unit but 18 days later, the A/C fried again. Now we have to wait all weekend in a 90-degree house because they don't have the parts. Also, it's been over a month since the microwave (before closing) was identified. They did a letter of continuity to get it fixed so we could close, but it's still not fixed and will be another two weeks. It's surprising how they don't seem to care. "We're sorry this happened" thanks for giving us so much money for the house, but nothing we can do to fix the problems. We just have to suffer in the heat or worry the microwave will explode.
