We used ChuckTown Homes to do both! We met with our buyer's agent, Andrea, to discuss all of our wants/needs in regards to a new house. She promptly got us set up on a portal to begin mapping out where we wanted to be and for houses to be tagged for us within our budget. She was prompt in getting back to us with any questions and with setting up viewings. When it came to negotiations with the sellers of the home we wanted, so was very proactive! Our buyer's agent, Matt, was just as great! We set up an appointment for him to view our house to discuss what we think we can sell for (as well as why, including other homes in the area that were comparable). He advised us on how to have the home set up for photos and how to have things done for showings. He was able to help us navigate toward good offers and ones that seemed like they wouldn't be a good fit. He was prompt in getting back to us via text, email or even by phone when needed. Also BBQ was left full of old coals - really gross. Impression is that they hire minimal cleaning stuff that just runs thru a minimal checklist. Biggest disappointment was mgmt decision to install new ac when it just needed new filter (old filter was completely coated) . So we were without ac for several hrs and avocet did not offer any gesture of goodwill like a credit or pay for a dinner out. Avocet rep Mandolin was pleasant and responsive in dealing with a/c. Other reps were either no help or actually snippy. Hard to believe....

We are from Ohio & one thing that we did not fully understand was that if you choose to live in the amazing city of Charleston, SC that there are factors that effect the house. One is the age of the homes & secondly the moist humid environment. It is nearly impossible to keep moisture out of the house with the high humidity. This in turn causes concerns inside the home. This was obviously one of our concerns with our house. However, Jennifer handled my concerns with professionalism and calmness. I was not always calm but Jennifer had a way of making me understand the process of what it takes to make these repairs right. Jennifer was essentially the liaison between us, the owner, & maintenance to make the necessary repairs with her budget. In fact, we were so happy with the customer service from Jennifer that we renewed my daughter's lease for another year. So just recently in Aug. 2022 we moved our daughter out of her house due to her graduating. There were so many great memories made on Smith St. for her & her roommates. Now a full circle moment when she is charging us $800 for MINOR paint scuffs and wear and tear that is covered by landlords, not the tenants. An overall headache and it all stems from the idea that she can take advantage of student tenants.

Thompson will yell over you while you try to tell him what's wrong. If you try to continue to speak, he hangs up on you. That way he can say he wasn't aware of anything needing repair. This has gone on for over a year. I can't wait to not deal with him! Do not rent these properties! I promise it'll be a mistake.
