I was referred to Shaz by my real estate agent when my wife and I were thinking about buying our first home. Not going to lie - I was a bit skeptical at first because you hear all these stories about how loan officers can be a little shady. Shaz is definitely not this type of person. From the first call I had with him, I could tell he had our best intentions at heart. For example - we looked at a few houses before even contacting him. When we told him that - the first question he asked was "Are you sure you could afford that?" I responded "What does that mean?" He said "The #1 thing that people should understand is not what the home is worth, but what the monthly payment will be." He went on to further explain that yes buying a home is going to be your biggest asset and responsibility, but you don't want to stretch your budget too thin where all you can afford every month is a mortgage payment. It was important for my wife and I to understand this as we like to travel and go out for nice meals once in a while. Furthermore - we intend on having children in the near future and those little people can get expensive! So he said let's start the free pre-approval process and based on our income and scenario he can recommend us a payment where we could feel comfortable. Based on that information is the home price we should be looking for. Sounded like a great idea so we did it. Within 24 hours of getting Shaz our information he provided us with a Total Cost Analysis that went into great detail the different payment options, property appreciation statistics, tax benefits, and how much principal and interest we would be paying over the life of the loan. It was very professional.  When we were done with that, we went shopping and found our perfect home. Shaz worked very closely with our real estate agent to help our offer get accepted. After that Shaz became a machine making sure our loan closed on time. He was so responsive anytime we had a question. He sent out an email every Monday to us with expectations throughout the week so that we could understand where we were and what we needed to do.
