Buyer beware! I had a good rapport with the representative at the start of the process, as others have stated, then it all went down hill. There was always one more piece of information needed, one after another after another for over a week. Offers and opportunities were rescinded as quickly as they were offered. We were always one step away from completion, then nothing. It felt like bait and switch. Explain something to me: how can I not qualify for a loan that is lower than what I have now?! I think it is better to go with large experienced lenders with the capacity to service a variety products. Stick with Quicken or a big bank. read more

Helped me to understand what I was paying for and also got me the best rate out of 3 lenders. I worked with Cheryl Stephens on getting my loan processed and she was great! Always answered all my questions (and I had a lot of them!) and was always quick to respond. She also helped me push things through a little faster than we had planned which was really helpful as I messed up on the closing date. These guys were great! Mark Bareng in particular was very patient in helping me to understand what was needed and helped me anticipate anything and everything the VA underwriter might ask for in order to push our VA Loan through in 30 days!! I was able to upload documentation to their website whenever I had time--weekends/evenings, saving me time and aggravation. My advice is to learn everything you can about obtaining a mortgage before engaging with any lender; there were a few things I didn't know which caused some miscommunications along the way. These guys offered us the best rate in Orange County with the lowest closing cost. I'd recommend them to anyone, especially if you're doing a VA loan, because Amber knows her stuff. She totally impressed out real estate agent, Keith Jorgensen, which is no small feat. They also helped put us in touch with Steven, at Universal Credit--without his expertise, we'd never have been able to raise our credit score in time to lock in the rate. Your team took 2 months to identify a 2nd on our house for windows installed that was listed on your documents a few weeks into the process. The title company was our best experience, correcting the issue in one day. We were told we would fund numerous times and it didn't. What we heard from Chris is that it was out of his hands and your processor wouldn't return our calls, but would email us with requests. I'm guessing there's not much you can do other than work on your teams communication skills. read more

I received a call from their Telemarketers. I checked them out, and all seemed to be OK. Our Loan contact was Will Slater. He told me at the very beginning of the process that LenderFi never sells loans. That was his first LIE. I have worked with Brokers before, and selling the loan is the only way they Make money, but he Promised me they don't sell loans. Will also told me that he would be the servicer for the loan, for as long as we had the loan. Again, I questioned him on this, as he is a SALESMAN. He cannot possibly be our main contact forever, in his own words he promised this. All of the terms and conditions were correct, the loan process was very good. However, they sold our loan to FalgStar Mortgage. In doing research after the sale, Flagstar is one of the worst Mortgage companies for clients to deal with. People all over the country, are completely dis-satisfied with FlagStar. My review is BUYER BEWARE!! Will Lied to me on several occasions. read more

I started working with Sarkis, a loan officer at Lenderfi, on a refinance for my home in November 2016. Sarkis ran the numbers and I was assured that there would be no issues with my loan. He even took steps to run it through underwriting and his manager while I waited on the phone to double-check and all was good with only the cost being for the appraisal out of pocket. Sarkis is an excellent sales person, but TERRIBLE at execution and following through on what he says he will do or even returning phone calls and texts. The only person who responded at Lenderfi was Jeff and he informs me that in order for the loan to go through, I needed to pay $13,000 out of my pocket which I declined doing. In addition to being out $415 on an useless appraisal, my experience was a big waste of time and money. Beware of ALL TALK and NO ACTION with these guys and disappointing surprises! read more

When I shop around the rate, I noticed many lenders do not disclose the rate with their website and they want to talk to you to give you a rate. Totally sounds like luck of the draw with LenderFi. I spoke with three loan processors during the process. Two of the three seemed genuinely interested in helping. Unfortunately I was assigned the third. He never replied to emails until he needed information from me and often ignored questions. We had some curves as we got to closing and since he had left things to the last minute we ended up missing the closing date by nearly a week. Not all of that was his fault but it would have been so much smoother if he was on the ball. Case in point, the morning before the eventual closing he committed to a 9:30am closing time. That afternoon I sent him two emails and left two voice mails asking him to confirm that he had all the information he needed and that we were all set. Zero response. 8am on closing day I get a call from the title company indicating they still didn't have the paperwork. My processor rolls in to work at 9am and finally informs the title company he didn't have something (which the title company said they had definitely sent). The seller, my wife and I, both agents, and the title agent were all sitting around for two hours while he finished his job. I spoke to his manager three times during the process and each time got his unenthusiastic assurance that they were doing everything they could to close this loan. That spiel may well have been taped to his monitor, or maybe he spoke to so many frustrated customers he had it memorized. In the end we did close. They got their money. I got a good rate, but paid dearly in frustration. read more

What is typically a "hair-razing" experience of refinancing a home loan turned out to be very easy and comforting. I had a competing interest rate from BofA that LenderFi was beat by .125% for 30 years and LenderFi was able to credit me for the home appraisal costs. From the initial conversations with Anthony Assi to the final close with the underwriter, I have nothing but praise. Anthony was very professional and was always quick to answer my questions either by email or text. Even beyond regular business hours he was always available. I felt he had my back. When I had questions about my estimated closing statement and found that I was not credited with the appraisal, he made sure the documents were fixed and the turnaround was very quick. He explained every line of the closing statement to me. I finally signed the loan papers and the whole process took about 30 days to complete. I did my research on all of them: lendingtree, loandepot, rocket, etc. I'm a big fan of shopping local, too, so my original loan was via a local credit union. But when it came time to refinance during this low rate sale, my local bank wouldn't call me back, and when I quoted all of the aforementioned names, lenderfi blew them all out of the water. Not to mention I've been able to actually reach the same person at lenderfi (Eddie) each step of the way. Costs to close are mind-bogglingly low, they are transparent and responsive, and I was even slated to get back a couple hundred in overpaid doc fees, AND IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED. That's something that ALWAYS slips through the cracks. They take care of everything, coordinating with my original mortgage guarantor, then sending a mobile notary to my house to sign docs, and the loan was funded a week later, and that was it. I've been really impressed and am looking to continue the relationship with them on the next property I am eyeing - already talking to Eddie on that. Sure, the loan was sold almost immediately after, but I expected that and it's to a national company that has a very easy autopay portal. Overall I am very happy and I feel like I found a gem stumbling upon this company. read more

If you are an experienced real estate person, use LenderFi. The rates are great and they will close your loan quickly. If you need a little hand holding, think twice before using LenderFi. This was my first ever refinance and it started with me calling to get basic information about the refinance process. I spoke with Miranda and she seemed friendly and knowledgeable. Miranda sent me a package of documents to fill out and then transferred me to Valerie for loan processing. Valerie was also very nice. As I begin reviewing my documents, I realize that they have used incorrect estimates, the value that Miranda quoted me for closing costs verbally is not anywhere near what I am reviewing on paper, there are documents for Florida disclosures (but I live in TX), and the package was missing key documents that LenderFi had requested back from me. I then sent an email asking a couple of clarification questions... radio silence. I finally got Valerie on the phone and we had a long discussion about the incorrect documents, updated estimates, and I asked several basic questions. When I spoke to her the next week, it was like we had never spoken before. Little changed until the title company got involved. The timeframe between document requests varied, but it would generally be several days beforel Valerie needed something "immediately", with the consequence being that it "could delay closing" which would increase my rate. I finally told her that I was frustrated with the demand for immediate documents and that the contract defined that my rate was locked through a specified date . Then they scheduled my closing without notifying me... sending someone to my house when i wasn't going to be there (thankfully the title company called to confirm the day of the appointment). Then the funding was delayed because nobody instructed me to payoff my homeowners insurance (despite asking if I needed to pay it off and they told me I was covered). This was a good case for "you get what you pay for". I am glad I used them for the low rate, but I would not recommend them... especially if you need a little hand holding through the process. read more

Rates are good and they were very helpful in getting a pre-approval done quickly, so we decided to apply for a loan through them. Everything was going fine until our loan processor quit halfway through the escrow period. Enter the loan processor from hell (here's looking at you Sofya)! She started asking for documents they already had, bank statements for months yet to be completed--basically doing everything she could to give the impression of an incompetent in over her head (even giving her credit for coming in mid-escrow). So closing day comes around, and with fingers crossed we sign all the papers, breath a sigh of relief, and start celebrating... prematurely as it turned out. Fortunately, our agent gave us a call, as Sofya was asking for more documents VIA EMAIL!!!! ON THE DAY OUR LOAN WAS TO FUND, she didn't think it important enough to make a phone call letting us know there was a problem (which, as it turned out, was due to her misreading one of the inspection reports)!! The close slipped a day but was eventually funded. In the end, three out of the four folks we worked with at LenderFi were competent and helpful, which leads me to believe they may be better than our experience shows. But the fact that they have someone so unqualified working there casts a large shadow of doubt. We had originally planned to follow up our home purchase with the refinancing of another through LenderFi, but after what we went through the first time around, that plan has been placed on permanent hold. read more

Not only did Lenderfi give me the best offer but they also closed in a little less than a month! Anthony Assi was great, answered all my questions and was there any time I needed him as early as 7 in the morning as late as 10 at night! AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! I love that Anthony and other workers there as well got back to me SOOO fast!! NOW they are calling me non-stop to do a "free" refinance and are extremely rude and condescending when asked to be removed from the call list. Find a local lender that you can meet with in person before dealing with these jokers. read more

Bad experience. Many disconnects and delays. If you want to manage your own refi, supply your documents multiple times, tell different staff your info over and over, then rush at the last minute, they may be right for you. I did and 90 days later my loan fell through. They apologized and offered to send me wine (which never happened like many other promises they made.) Their follow through, organization, and integrity was lacking throughout the process. Problem was I kept believing that the refi would go through and, since I had put so much time into it, was hopeful it would come together. Fortunately, I have 770+ credit and money to add equity. This lender started out perfect - great communication, extremely helpful, very quick to respond. Now? Not so much. After hitting a few snags along the way with the appraisal, the UW, at the last possible minute, decided not to back my refi loan. After discussing the situation we determined that fixing some issues in the house and having the appraiser return should appease the UW concerns. I hired contractors and spent many late evenings after work getting huge improvements done upstairs - improvements that once the refi was finalized would be completely useless as that space is getting turned into a rental. Nonetheless it had been deemed necessary so it seemed worth spending thousands of dollars. Yes, thousands! Now it is weeks later, the second appraisal has happened and nothing from LenderFi. I have repeatedly asked for a status update and on the occasion that they actually respond all I get is "I have the owner of the company involved." I'm thinking maybe I should just call the owner of the company myself. Just a simple YES or NO would suffice but stop with the waiting game. I will also add that my house is old and quite unique in an industrial and hip part of Seattle. I think part of my mistake (besides being naive and too trusting) was using someone that isn't local and doesn't understand this area. I paid around $1100 for an appraisal (incl f/u inspection) and now it is going to be for nothing. Perhaps if your house is a perfect cookie cutter style and you're not looking for cash out they are a good company. read more
