After a couple months of research, I dumped a mile-long list of requirements and perspective listings on Mike and, quite frankly, was a little nervous that I had overwhelmed him. I was wrong, however, and flew down for a weekend of property hunting that was extremely productive and was well-targeted in regards to my requirements. Mike did a great job finding a mix between exact listings I wanted to see, coupled with similar listings in various parts of city, enabling us to get a true flavor of the entire area. When I finally decided to make an offer, Mike's knowledge of the area, construction (he's a house flipper, himself) and just general personal insight gave us confidence that we were making the right decision. During contract phase, Mike was there every step of the way and was highly-engaged and hands-on throughout the 45 days. He made a number of visits to the house, ensured that repairs were being done in a timely and quality fashion, and helped coordinate activities between legal, lending and the seller. This was particularly important to me given that I was either back at my home in NYC or flying all over the world on business during this time - he was my "eyes and ears" on the ground. I believe that Icon Realty was involved in hacking my bank account. I leased an apartment in the heart of las olas/Fort Lauderdale from December 2016, from Atlantic loft llc. I agreed to pay a 2 month security deposit of $2400 as well as first, last and security (pretty standard) got my key, etcétera. After 2 different companies handling our property, ICON Realty came in January 2020 and revamped property by implementing a ***online payment service ***** aka , a way to get into your bank account. I questioned who this is and why I had to use this system to pay, not only to be replied with "It is our new system and you have to use it, you must pay rent this way or consult your attorney" As I went ahead and used it but decided to not renew my upcoming ending lease of 3/30/20. I emailed, texted and explain that I would not be renewing the lease because not only I don't trust the payment system, I had a very difficult time communicating with Benjamin (who by the way runs the whole thing). He ignored all my calls and the ones he replied, he did very rudely. I promptly moved out on schedule and handed him the keys along with my original lease agreement. He took the keys and said that He did not have a refund and I would need to wait 30 days to receive one on the mail. Now 30 days later. My bank account has been HACKED and bank investigated the multiple charges leading back to that January rent payment. I have been getting random withdrawals from different wiring entities totaling over 1k so far. Due to covid19, I can not yet file a claim in court. And the reason I am writing this is to WARN tenants and landlords about companies like this! I am attaching the refund check I just received. What a joke! See you in court.
