One of my sons needed an ingrown toenail removed, and she handled the procedure with great care, making him feel comfortable and at ease throughout. My other son came in with a sprained ankle, and she was just as attentive--thorough in her evaluation and clear in her guidance for recovery. What stood out most was how easy it was to get an appointment and how quickly she responded when we needed her. She has a calm, reassuring demeanor that's especially important when treating kids, and both of my sons felt well cared for. I highly recommend Dr. Karamloo to any parent looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and reliable doctor.

However, when I arrived for my appointment, the staff acted as if none of my information was on file and asked for my insurance card again. After checking me in and placing me in an exam room, I waited about 10 minutes before a staff member returned and told me I was out of network. Another staff member then came in asking for my insurance card again, even though it had already been provided and reviewed. I was then told the doctor would not be able to see me because I was out of network. No option was offered to pay out of pocket or proceed with the visit. What makes this especially frustrating is that the office had my insurance information in advance from my online submission and never contacted me beforehand to notify me about the network issue. Additionally, they asked me to arrive an hour early (1:00 PM instead of my scheduled 2:00 PM appointment) because the doctor needed to leave early. This resulted in a complete waste of my time. Overall, this experience reflected poor organization, lack of communication, and disappointing customer service. Don't go!

I wanted to save review #200 for a special review!…read more I cannot say enough good things about Dr Van Gompel. I have seen hundreds of drs for various health needs, but dr Van Gompel is by far one of the finest drs you can come across. I have been seeing Dr Van Gompel for nearly 2 years now for an extremely rare injury that occurred after taking a medication, resulting in nerve damage. Dr van gompel took the time to thoroughly research my condition, order tests and refer me to the appropriate places to get the answers I needed. He seemed to be one of the few doctors that genuinely cared and wasn't going to just let me slip through the cracks. He was on point with his analysis of my condition and all the things that he suggested I do to get better when other doctors said there was nothing I could do. As a provider, I not only have complete confidence in his expertise and direction for my own treatment plan but the office I used to work for referred all our patients to Dr Van Gompel, wo any reservation. He is extremely knowledgeable (not just in podiatry!) and up to date with the latest research and techniques. I love how he will not just read a result from an imaging study but will open up the CD images and show you the images and explain what is going on. Even though he specializes in podiatry, I always feel like he treats the whole person and gives solid fact based recommendations that make sense whether it be in neurology or immunology or other. Dr Van Gompel is also extremely patient. I never feel rushed and he sincerely listens. He is very personable, humble, and down to earth, so that I never feel bad about asking questions or sharing my concerns. I feel comforted in knowing he genuinely cares for the overall health of his patients and will not give up on me even when other drs may do so. He is the first dr where I always feel better after each appointment and that I have a greater understanding of my condition each time I see him. If you are looking for a podiatrist, I highly recommend him. He has offices in the Pleasanton and Fremont location.

His office staff was amazingly friendly. Once I got to the office for my appointment within a week of calling, I was greeted and ushered into the room within 5 minutes of my arrival in the office. Dr Laver came into the room literally within a minute of me getting settled and was very warm and friendly. I didn't feel rushed at all. He listened to my issue and didn't make me feel like my problem wasn't a big deal. He diagnosed me, took xrays and we scheduled a follow up. At my follow up I found out my problem was a lot more than both of us originally had thought. Dr Laver was very thorough with my follow up and further scheduled needs. I highly recommend his office. It's rare these days that you find a doctor who not only takes the time to spend with you without the patient feeling like you are on a time clock in a race when you are in front of the doctor and also a doctor that has super friendly staff that are always very helpful.
