I was pretty disappointed with the sweets part of this restaurant- I tried the carrot cake, guava cheesecake, lemon bar and lemon pound cake and it was all pretty dry except for the guava cake, but even that was a bit underwhelming. They were pretty though. Perhaps their savory menu is their specialty and better than the sweets, I will try that next..

    Cuatro Leches, guava cheesecake, brownie.

My wife and I were super excited to try out this new place! I had been craving a tree leches cake and was intrigued by their cuatro leches cake, was I glad that I went for the cuatro! My wife had the brownie and loved it. I had to also try the guava cheesecake and it was good. Will definitely be back to try the tres leches and have that cuatro again! The ladies behind the counter were very inviting and loved answering questions we had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The sitting area is cute and accommodated perfectly for our dessert date.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will be back.

So many pastry options! First time trying an Arepa and it was delicious. Staff were very friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cozy spot for a nice snack.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely be back. Highly recommend the tres leches as well!

First time coming here, wish I had came sooner! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of choices to choose from, very comfortable atmosphere and staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The desserts are great! So much to choose from!

Cute sign with a lemon slice as the O in 'lemon.'

OMG! If I lived in Tyler, I would be here all the time! Outstanding customer service and everything recommended to us was exquisite. I had two empañadas--the shredded chicken and the shredded beef. I don't like onions and she told me there were cooked green onions in the beef empañada, but I didn't taste anything except deliciousness. My husband had the arepas--shredded beef and cheese. He felt it was very good and he would order it again. We had to have dessert. I got the guava cheesecake and he got the guava puff and we shared. Wow! So good. On another note, the place was super clean, kid friendly and cheerful.

We absolutely love their cuatro leches cake and decided we wanted one for an event. They do NOT have it the same as they did for their displays at the store. Def do not recommend ordering a cake for an event from them all they did was mix it up in a plastic container non removable. Very disappointed. Called to let them know but did not care.

Fresh homemade desserts. The tres leches and key lime are delicious!!

Fresh homemade everything. Our power was still out so I didn't get any pictures but we will definitely be back! Only one minor complaint... We ordered 6 empanadas and got 2 dime size green sauces. Quit being stingy with the green sauce y'all!!

Fun little spot in Tyler. My parents had found it and we thought it was great! Lots of fun sweets and savories. Coffee and service was GREAT!

Located in unassuming part of Wylie/St.Paul the restaurant is smack down in the middle of the strip along other places I wanted to try. I ordered their Carne Frita con Arroz. Flavorful chunks of pork which came with fried banana, rice, and beans.. Even though I've never had an actual Puerto Rican food, I expected a whole lot of flavor just by reading about cuisine. I really enjoyed the carne frita and thought it is almost similar to lechon kawali (Filipino dish) but this much leaner part of the pig. Service was very friendly, they'll answer any question you might have especially if you are unfamiliar with the names of some of the dishes. This is a family ran business, you'll feel that upon walking in. Very homey and welcoming. You'll be transported to PR while dining here.

It hurts us to see other boricuas serving food that do not have the real Puertorican flavors. If your audience/clientele is not Puertoricans then we guess you're making them happy. Boricuas? Nope! Not sure if they don't know how to cook or don't have good recipes or just don't know how to season boricua style. We had a Tripleta & an empanadilla de carne (beef "empanada"). The Tripleta's meat had no flavor what so ever, and tons and tons of Mayo ketchup. The pernil needs TONS of more seasoning and they need to tone down the Mayo ketchup amount to about 5 notches... Then the empanadilla, the dough you can tell it was too dry so it was not smooth, or it had been frozen to death. Then the beef inside was so incredibly dry that couldn't swallow it without drinking tons of fluids and didn't have any flavor either. And on top of that, it was fried like 10 times longer than what should have been cause it was so hard and crispy it was not even funny. You can do better friend; Eddie needs to know better!!! Research genuine Puertorican recipes or call any boricua friends & learn from them! Best of luck!

What a surprise to find such a romantic, exclusive and fusion Latin Cuisine experience in Tyler,…read moreTexas. Set on a hill, this beautiful property is definitely eye catching from the intersection. I call it fusion Latin cuisine because their shrimp ceviche was definitely not your typical one. Surprised with the sweet and not expected pineapple pieces, I couldn't help myself from enjoying and eating all of it. And the plate presentation of this appetizer is on point! Well done! Love the M letter drawing, the 'tartar' set up and dollop of guacamole to hold the chip deco! I believe the chips are home made. Service was wonderful! Attentive. Was recommended the blue coconut jalapeño mojito and it was also different. I would have personally liked a classic mojito better. Coconut and jalapeño didn't rock my boat, but the presentation was lovely. For the entrees we went off the card and chose from their specials menu. The Osso Buco pork shank was juicy, fall off the bone, and deliciously flavorful! Bold in flavors. The tasty saucy beans balanced the bland cilantro lime rice. It was a large portion, couldn't finish the quantity but it was well-loved. The surf and turf dish was beautifully set up. The filet mignon steak was on top of chimichurri fries, and the overcooked lobster found its way on fajita vegetables. The steak that was cut in was more of a medium and not medium rare but still tasty and finished. This place is apparently popular amongst prom goers. Quite a few prom groups with photographers were taking pictures in and around the building earlier that evening. Aside from the food, service and ambience. Villa Montez could still improve with the welcoming hostess, and by cleaning up the construction materials in the back and by the parking lot.

(NYC). Introducing Inka's. Peruvian meets Colombian cuisine. I am part Colombian so Colombian cuisine is something I am very familiar with, Peruvian not so much. The number one staple in Colombian food is going to be the dish called "Bandeja Paisa" which contains pork, beef, sausage, sweet plantain, egg, avocado, rice and beans. This is what caught my eye because it is what I am most familiar with. I also ordered a mango milkshake. This was not my first time being here at this establishment. The place stays pretty empty and it is quite unfortunate because the quality of food, the taste and the attentive to detail from the staff is above and beyond. Inside, the place is rather big and it looks like they have live music at times. I just wish them to a lot more busier because this is the closest thing I have to Colombian food. My bandeja paisa elevated me straight to Colombia where the taste from the pork was out of this world it was so crunchy yet so soft, the beans were amazing as well as the beef. Let me not forget the mango milkshake which was delicious. I need everyone to saturate this establishment and support this business because these flavors are international but teleported locally to serve good cuisine.
