"Lemon Test Only" Ok, I get it... 1. Taken literally, it's a "Test Only" smog check shop on "Lemon" St. 2. Figuratively, it could humorously be taken for a "Test Only" smog check shop for "Lemons"--POS cars that aren't going to pass regulation anyway. Nice play on words. 3. Ironically, the owners of this tiny auto shop may not even be aware that they've made a funny. (Sorry, English teacher here. Sometimes it's difficult to turn that off. It's my curse.) * * * * * * Anyway, good for them! This little place has a focus: smog checks. You bring in your paperwork from the DMV stating that you need a smog check clearance before you will be issued your new registration, and you're taken care of. If you pass, they will submit the results. If you fail, well, they only test. Alas, your next move will be somewhat more costly, I'm sure. My condolences, ahead of time. Here's a tip: just park. Don't wait for anyone to come running over to you. You're not special. If it's assistance you came looking for, you'll probably be the one who first approaches them. After all, no one came racing over to help me after I parked, but I'm okay with that. I've been called "neurotic," at times, so I know my boundaries. :) Nevertheless, I had the strange and unnerving feeling that my business wasn't all that important, and I almost felt like I was interrupting... But how could that be? I don't count that against them, however. Everything in life is not just about me, right? Anyway, I'm sure you'll have your cell on you. You should be able to entertain yourself for about 20-30 minutes. I give my recommendation. read more

I did not see the reviews until after. I would say it is fair to comment that no one comes running over as soon as you pull up ( though I did catch them at lunch). However, since I find the over zealousness of many in sales and service insincere and off putting, I really liked the friendly laid back approach, and found both staff sincere and authentically friendly. They were prompt & professional, and my car passed. What more could I ask for. read more

They were quite efficient, friendly, and listened to my nonsense chatter about it being the first one I've ever got (island girl here who never had to worry about this kind of stuff!). Normally I'd rather not have mentioned that, but we still laughed about it and it only took about 15 minutes to finish everything up and they sent my paper work to the DMV. Reasonable pricing as most places I looked up were around the $50 range. I was recommended this place from the mechanic I always go to so, I'll come back here for sure! read more

I came in I used to pay $50 dollars. The guy there wanted $70.00 dollars I think is a little too much. I can go down the street and do it for $50.00 dollars. There are other shops near by, so I have choices I do not have to stick with one single place. I used my cellphone to search online and I found coupons for $28.75 and for $31.75 and some shops offered no pass no pay. read more
