Once it was located, he could come back and fix it (quote $4 - 5K to repair). Called PV Pros to come out to look for the leak. The service tech, Justin, told me there was NO LEAK and that the filter just needed to have the air released, which he did. Filter operates fine. After the 7/4 storms, the pool water turned green. Not inviting to swim in. After trying a few remedies that didn't work, I called the store and Tim suggested I bring in a H2O sample to figure out what the problem could be. After he did the test, he told me it was metals in the water and gave me the correct additives and explained how to fix the problem. Following those instructions now. Tim also said that he will do another H2O test next week to make sure everything returns to normal. I don't know whether PV Pros rate is/was competitive but when you have a positive experience with a company, sometimes any extra cost is well worth it! I will now have PV Pros do all the servicing on my pool.

A quick Yelp search and Request-a-Quote later and I found Precise Vision Pros who quickly responded with what I felt was a reasonable quote for summer services. I really love this company. I've had some issues with other folks that have serviced our property in the past (we rent out our home and do not live close by) but this summer has been a breeze with Precise Vision Pros. They are always prompt to respond to my emails and are so courteous when it comes to processing payments. While they do ask that you pay half up front, I had arranged services well in advance of the summer and they kindly allowed me to pay that deposit in early May rather than February. Beyond the amazing Sara with whom I've been in regular contact about services each week, I must note the quality of services overall. Each time we've visited, I'm happy with the water quality and vacuuming. They are always on top of any incoming weather that might affect the pool and arrange visits accordingly. I also love that they provided complimentary critter life savers (floats that save lives of unsuspecting frogs and small animals that might have fallen into the pool). Sadly, I'm moving after this season, and I'll really miss working with this company. They really were lifesavers for us this summer!

It became one big headache after another. Contractors were either charging an arm and a leg or alternatively wouldn't take on the "difficult" job. Most made me feel like they were taking advantage with the price. I called James Whelan one afternoon and he was able to meet at my house that evening even though it was a 45 minute drive from where he lives. He was friendly, knowledgeable and able to communicate the scope of the job in a way that wasn't condescending or curt. Although he humorously described the toughness of the job as "not HGTV," he put me at ease with his personality and openness. Although a family emergency postponed the start date, once the work began - it barely took him and his crew a week to complete. He is such a hard worker. Even the neighbors were impressed! At our first meeting, I had a gut feeling about Mr. Whelan and immediately trusted his craftsmanship and years of experience. I really look forward to using James and only him on more upcoming projects.

You need to watch his workers so they dont cut corners that are expensive later to fix. You need to get the agreement in writing, otherwise promised work will be forgotten and you will have no recourse a year later when the cut corners finally reveal themselves. No matter how much they come with a sob story, stick to half on deposit and not another cent until the project is complete and a punch list is done. This is a business transaction and his employees financial woes are not your problem. I should have trusted my gut when the siding guy was working alone and using nails, now Im having someone come by to quote how much its going to cost to tear down everything and redo it. Appears they have the skill to do great small interior projects, but cant manage employees to do anything larger. But the one big thing, get a written contract or plan on paying someone else to fix problems later.

Originally, they were very responsive (hence 2 stars instead of 1 star). When I left work and checked my phone, I had multiple missed calls and text messages from them. I texted back the next morning. This is where it became like pulling teeth to make an appointment. No arranging an appointment. They simply said they'd "stop by" the next day. Unfortunately, I have a job so I can't sit home all day. I went to work, came home, and checked my cameras -- They never showed up. I called and left more voicemails. I even tried messaging them thru Yelp. Around 2 weeks later, they texted and said they'd "stop by" tomorrow and look at the job. I sat home waiting. Once again, nobody came. I tried calling. No answer. I got tired of begging. I hired someone else who appreciated the business. If they can't even show up as promised (twice) to give an estimate, I'd hate to see how often they forget to show up after they start a job.
