I am late getting to this review but I wanted to put in my two or three cents about Tom and his company. For the negative reviewers, I am not family to Tom, not one of his Facebook friends, etc. Nor have I been offered a gift card. I was introduced to him by another contractor whom I've known for a number of years and trust his judgement. We had to take on a roof project when we had a slow leak destroy a corner of our laundry room. When I took apart the ceiling it was obvious that this had been going on for a while. We'd had this fixed previously though the water had found a way to come back and had gotten much more serious. This occurred about March timeframe so it was problematic getting someone to come out. Tom came out with Alex and did a thorough check of the roof, found the area in question, and provided options. The part of the roof with problems wasn't quite a flat roof but wasn't pitched enough to always shed water. We wanted something we would never have to worry about again, plus while we were fixing this one side we figured on just doing the whole thing and making it right. Tom gave us a few different options. We did also contact a couple other roofing companies to get competing quotes. We decided to go with Tom because we felt the price was fair for the value - not cheap, or cheapest but well explained as to what was going to be done. We also had a solar installation to remove, and Tom knew of a firm that could do this (which ended up being the same people the solar company recommended). It took almost 6 weeks to get the requisite approvals from the town thanks to the 'Rona, but once that was done, we made our down payment and then maybe only another 2 weeks to get everything ordered and on-site. The crew ended up having to strip the roof down which was an unexpected add-on but not egregious. (This actually helped to ensure that we were able to get the water damaged area completely taken care of later.) The crew brought a big dump trailer and tarped off all of my gardens around the house. Considering what came off the house (two layers of shingles, tarpaper, drip edges, flashing, nails, etc.) they did a pretty good job keeping stuff from getting everywhere. There were a couple of spots where it wasn't perfect but they took care of it. The team that did the roof was extremely polite and professional. They came to the house early, worked their butts off all day, and stayed late. They definitely understood the technical aspects of the roof system and ensured that the components were applied in the right order, using the correct methods. It was easy to see they took pride in what they were doing. The results were outstanding. First and foremost, no more leaks (there was a false alarm on this but more about that in a bit). Second, the job they did was professional and looks great. The small details were well taken care of. Third, I had no issues getting a hold of Tom, Alex, or the team working on the house. I always knew what was going on. This extended to after the job was done. About 6 weeks after this finished, it had rained heavily and I discovered some water damage to a bathroom ceiling. Naturally, I thought something was wrong with the roof. So I texted Tom and asked him about it. He said he would be right on it. Alex called me in 5 minutes and set up a time to come take a look. Long story short, it wasn't the roof but the way the original plumber did the vent. Fixing the roof just exposed the problem with the way the vent was installed. I would recommend Tom and TH for roofs without reservation. read more

I'd have to write a novel to cover all the issues, but the most relevant one for anyone researching this company is that they pay people to write 5 star reviews before the work is completed (or even started in some cases). For me, they offered me a $200 gift card. The owner also closely monitors reviews and harasses people who leave negative ones (I fully expect a snarky response to this review claiming they have no idea who I am. After being screamed at in person for 45 minutes by the owner, I'm definitely in no rush to give him my full name online). The communication is great until they have your deposit, then good luck getting the work actually completed, much less completed as promised. I had to threaten to fire them twice, once after they were 6 months late to get them to agree to show up, then a second time after the 4th no call no show by the installers in 2 weeks. read more

I would NOT recommend this company. Had chimney installed by this company in February. After installing, we had a condensation leak. Prior to new chimney being installed we had never experienced any leaks. At first, company was friendly and responsive to any questions. However, when we mentioned the leak, they immediately became hostile and denied liability. Spoke on the phone with the estimate guy, Matt, who agreed that if we got a second opinion from another chimney installer, and their determination was that the leak was coming from the way they had installed the chimney that they would revisit and discuss compensation or correction. Immediately after that conversation, Matt emailed me and said he preferred to have our conversations in writing through email. A few days later Matt decided there would be no more emails. They were going to set up a conference call between the owner, Tom, Matt, and a woman in the office, Deanna (was never told what her title was) and me and my husband. In the meantime, we had a chimney builder come who speculated that the interior of the chimney was done incorrectly and was causing the condensation. The conference call did not go well as Tom became hostile, and accused me of insulting him when I was simply going over what had transpired between us. There was no hostility or threats on our end. We ended the phone call when it became apparent that the owner was simply interested in denying liability and trying to detract from the point of the conversation. In retrospect, I wish that I had researched this company more thoroughly. We chose them based on the work they had done on our roof several years prior, which we were happy with. They declared bankruptcy in 2019, and after looking and finding other reviews, I realize other people have experienced similar situations to ours. Also, before the phone conversation was over, Tom insisted any other conversation was going to have to be done in person at the office. That comment made me feel threatened. It made me feel nervous. Upon reading other responses from the owner to bad reviews, specifically on Yelp, he mentions not being aware of the person as posting the bad review as a customer, but stating he will find them. I personally found that statement to be very aggressive and somewhat threatening. That's how I felt after reading that. I am sure the response to this review will be a diatribe that is similar to all the other responses this company has given to bad reviews. I feel there are more professional ways to agree to disagree, and that is not what we experienced with this company. I hope no one else has to go through what we went through. read more

TH Remodeling are really professional contractors. I had a new roof replaced on my home along with seamless gutters and the project went as planned. There were a few minor issues but the crew took care of them immediately. What I really appreciated was the honesty and responsiveness of owner Thomas Hazzard. Thomas explains the work that needed to be completed and was very detailed. I also had several other quotes from roofing contractors and TH Remodeling beat them both easily. I have gotten so many compliments from my neighbors. If you are in need of a new roof and don't utilize TH Remodeling, trust me, you are doing yourself and your home a disservice. When a tree fell on our home I didn't know who to call. I found TH on a website that put them in the top 5. We have a small house and a couple of other roofers I called never came back and I suspect it was because we have a small home. Lars made us feel like we had a big house. He didn't care how small our house was. He treated us like he really cared and went through the whole process with us carefully. This is an addition to above review. It's been 4 mos since the tornado and we are almost done. Sorry to say but am very disappointed with communication with sales rep. We were promised a lot but then communication ceased and I'm running around doing things that I was told would've been done by company. After texting, calling and emailing sales rep, I have yet to hear from him. Very frustrated! read more

TH was the single best home service company I have experienced in the region in 48 years. There was an immediate response to my Niagra-Falls-in-the-living-room panic call. The next day I had an estimate with options for me which alllowed me to do the job on my very meager budget. A few days later, 5 or 6 workers showed up at 7:00am and by 3:30 in the afternoon I had a new roof and there wasn't any evidence that anybody had been here. Amazing. The job was done for $3000. less than a quote I had from another roofer three years earlier and offered a lifetime guarantee. (Makes selling the house down the road, much easier. I can transfer the guarantee with the house). This company is amazingly professional and comfortable to work with. Description of work: I was hoping for just another repair but John took a camera up on the roof and photographed every spot that had worn through or had other issues and details I would have never noticed. In short, he discovered every thing that I had tried to NOT think about for the last five years. It was both a revelation and a relief. Three of the four roofs on my house needed replacement. TH replaced roofing and plywood under all and removed the old roofs between 7:00am and 3:00 pm the same day. The grass in the work area was spotless after the cleanup. This review is for a standard roof job, nothing tricky. I have to say that over decades of experience dealing with various plumbers, electricians, and carpenters this company was among the worst in the communications department. For that, I would give them one star. Once they had our deposit, phone calls, emails, and posts left on the website went unanswered. I spoke with someone supervising the crew the morning they arrived, but never saw that person again. The workers were efficient getting the new roof on. However, plants on one side of the house were completely demolished. You anticipate some collateral damage, but this was forty feet of annihilation. My neighbor half-jokingly remarked about nails and splinters in her plants on the other side. There was wrapping paper from the shingles dangling from trees out front. Again, I did not see any supervisor and there was no walk-through afterwards. They could not salvage the gutter guards-- understandable, but I asked for an additional quote to have new ones put on. I was assured I would get a quote, but that did not happen. After the job was finished, I asked for a quote again, was reassured again but weeks later I have not heard back. The roof is supposedly guaranteed, but I have not gotten any documentation. On the plus side, the cost turned out on the low side of what we had anticipated. But I wasn't looking to cut corners. Ps: Wow, the comment from the company that I delayed payment or was delinquent in any way is an outright dirty lie and I'm dropping a star as a result. read more

We had our roof done in 2017 by TH Remodeling and they did a beautiful job. In February my husband had to go up in the attic for the first time since our roof was done since we heard something running around up there. Unfortunately, when he went up he discovered that there was a tremendous amount of water on the ceiling which was dripping to the floor, and there was mold growing across the entire ceiling. After a bit of a communication problem, Thomas Hazard and one of his workers came out and investigated the attic. They determined that the water was due to moisture build-up from heat transfer from the house into the attic. They gave us a very reasonable quote to blow in insulation, seal the attic against mold growth, and add a roof vent so we could put in a vent fan in our bathroom. The workers were back at our house within two weeks and did a great job. They were efficient and cleaned up after the work. They even found where the squirrels we heard were getting in and fixed it. Once the communication issues were taken care of I have been extremely happy with this company and Mr. Hazard's commitment to making us happy. I would definitely recommend this company for roofing and any other remodeling you may need to be done. read more

Wow, I agree with a lot of unhappy customers. 5 star reviews are from owner's friends and family members. If you check his social media most of those names come from there and they are related in one way or another. My story is very long. I will try to summarize it. We hired this company because in the beginning they showed themselves as serious business. When we had an extensive damage done to my house by tornado they promised to tackle multiple jobs (roof, siding, deck, retaining wall, etc). We gave them massive $40K down payment. In 2 weeks they came in to take down porch which was leaning and was hazardous. We had to wait months for them to come to do roof. Ceiling in my kitchen got saturated with rain water because roof leaked. They told me it's not their problem and it will dry up and will not go anywhere. I had a gaping hole through outside wall where huge tree went through. We lived with that hole for 5 months before they finally came to cover it from outside with plastic. It was getting cold. It took them almost 7 months to come to do the roof. Guess what they charged me extra $4K for 3 trim boards and 10 plywood sheets. They refused to continue until we pay those $$$. I can say they never replaced 3 broken rafters and laid new roof right on top of it! We wanted to finish business with that company. However, we were met with the threats from the owner. As of today he broke 2 contracts we signed. We had to hire another company to finish the house. He was wasting our time by not signing an agreement to finish business and refund $15K out of $40K for a crapy roof job. He never refunded our money and filed for the bankruptcy when we started to sue him. I will not recommend this company even to my worst enemy. Be prepared to pay hefty for trusting him. Needed a new roof on our house and a badly deteriorated shed. I'd seen the TH Remodeling signs around before and i gave them a call. From the first time calling I was treated with respect, and all of my concerns were discussed without ever feeling like "just another customer". Mr. Tom is very easy to talk to and explains everything that will take place, what is covered, and is open and honest about all costs. On the day(s) the work was taking place, both myself and my wife received phone calls from the supervisor, Eric, who set us both at ease answering any new questions we had, and kept us updated on what was being done! He was also available on site to meet with in person. Most importantly, the team doing the work did an exceptional job! My roof and shed look fantastic! All mess was cleaned up and all we were left with was a great looking new roof! I cannot say enough great things about TH Remodeling!!! TH Remodeling was by far the most professional, most informative, and kind. The personal interest shown and the education provided, made me feel secure with the decision to pursue. I had no doubt in my mind that I was going to be given a fair price, be taken care of 110%, and have the confidence that the pitch given was indeed accurate, sincere, and genuine. The wonderful man that pitched for TH Remodeling was Javier Alvarado. He was the most positive, uplifting, honest man I have ever met, and his presence was comforting. I just want to thank TH Remodeling for getting back to me ASAP. I needed pipe vent boots replaced as this year with all the rain it became noticeable that there was a serious leak issue happening. They came out and got the job done early in the morning about a week and a half ago, and there have been two serious rain storms and not a single bit of moisture! If I had to give this company a rating it wouldn't be a one star, it would be a zero. We hired them to put our roof on in June and they did a great job--had a crew here that did it all in one day. However, we also hired them do our siding. That's where it all went wrong. We ordered a sliding door and window through them. The salesman insisted that they were great products. The siding was suppose to be done in July but they kept saying they were waiting for the door and window to come in. We even said we would be happy with a door or window from Lowes or Home depot but they insisted we would love it. It took 4 1/2 months for it to come in. The communication with this company was horrible. We never got a straight answer. We would call the salesman and he very rarely returned our calls. Finally, we were so frustrated that we went above his head to a supervisor and that was about the same as the salesman. The person kept apologizing with no results. So we once again went over the supervisor's head and got the office manager. It was the same old thing. We repeatedly asked for the owner's phone number and every time they dodged the question. Finally, after threatening to sue them, they started our siding almost 6 months after the original date. They sent three guys who clearly didn't know what to do. They installed the door and window wrong so my husband had to fix it himself. The famous door that caused all the problems wasn't even the right door! To top everything off they ran out of siding! We had to wait 4 more weeks for it to come in, with our walls exposed to the elements. And we still haven't heard from the owner. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I needed the siding in the back of the house replaced. Their price was reasonable, and they offered financing. They were booked for a month, It took a couple of weeks to get me in their schedule after a miscommunication with their sales rep. However, they completed the work in a day, and they did a great job and nice cleanup. read more

I recently contracted TH Remodeling to do a full roof and gutter replacement in Brewster, NY. I was extremely pleased with the overall professionalism of everyone involved in the project. Bob Glas responded in a timely manner, was very knowledgeable, and provided a competitive estimate. The crew arrived early and did an outstanding job led by the foreman, Angel, who made sure all the details were taken care of properly.
