family has been a customer of Leiningers for 50+ years until today. They were my go to butcher! A week prior to Christmas I pre-ordered my ham and a sirloin tip roast for pickup on Christmas Eve Day. Upon arrival my order was not ready but they assured me that it would be ready in 10 minutes because they had to cut the roast. I asked several times while waiting are you sure you have sirloin because if not I will select a chuck roast from your case. The response was absolutely, they are cutting it now. Upon return to the counter my order was wrapped and I paid my $105 dollar bill and left. When I got home I asked my husband to put the order in our spare fridge and did not look at the products because I was assured that it was what I requested. The end result was they sold me a rump roast and it was awful and ruined my Christmas Dinner. What I did cut and try to serve ended up being fed to the dogs. Today I returned to the market and brought what was left with me. The counter girls were apologetic and acknowledged that I ordered a sirloin tip but since they don't sell sirloin tip roasts they took it upon themselves to substitute a rump roast without asking! In order to get a refund I would have to return the entire roast so that they could return it to their supplier which again is poor business practice because it wasn't the suppliers error but theirs. As a valued customer they should have honored their mistake and refunded me the $45 that I paid for the roast or gave me a credit for future purchases. The end result is although the counter ladies were apologetic my family was extremely disappointed , I am out $45 and they lost me as a customer as well as future referrals. The only ones that were happy about this situation are my dogs! read more
