I was a patient here for five years and while I never had any truly dramatic issues like others who have posted here, after finally finding a new PCP, I now realize my medical concerns were never taken very seriously by Dr. Roberts. I came to her a few years ago concerned about weight gain (I'd gained 40 lbs in 2 years) and she told me that I looked fine, and should just request not to be weighed at my next appointment if it bothered me that much?? While I did carry the weight "well," at this time, my BMI was much higher than could ever be considered healthy, and I was looking for guidance on how to lose weight as I was having issues with sleep apnea and growing anxiety. It took three years, 20 more lbs and lots of weekly panic attacks for me to find a doctor who took my concerns seriously and helped me to get back on track both mentally and physically. Since switching to a better doctor, it's been impossible for me to get ahold of my medical records. I've called every day for the past 2 weeks only to sit on hold for 20 minutes and eventually be disconnected. The very last time I went to see Dr. Roberts, I was sitting on the couch waiting to be helped when a woman stormed out of the office yelling "THIS IS THE WORST DOCTOR'S OFFICE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO." It was at that very cinematic moment that I realized I needed to do better for myself. I never went back, and I don't recommend anyone else does either! read more

I love seeing the Nurse practitioner here, the staff have all been so helpful. Like others, you can get a lot done here under one roof, including your yearly women's exam. I've been going to Dr. Roberts for the past few years and until recently felt like she was an ok doctor. My last couple visits she treated me like I was a stupid hypochondriac and I just chalked it up to her just being kind of brash. I'm a worrier, I get that, but my family has a terrible medical history so I'm on top of things. And quite frankly, she gets paid a lot of money to answer my questions. This weekend I went to a shady ER in my neighborhood who wanted to admit me for gallbladder issues. I didn't feel safe there and thought I would first see my primary care doctor, Dr. Roberts, for a second opinion. I was in so much pain and waited until the morning and called to get in. I told them that it was really serious and that there was a definite issue with my gallbladder according to this ER and could she see me. "Sure in an hour and a half..." right then I should have gone to the emergency room because my pain was unbearable but I wanted to go to someone I thought I could trust. I got in to the office with my wife and waited. When she walked in the room she looked at my wife and very rudely said "AND WHO IS THIS?!?!" Um that'd be my very caring and worried wife.. how about a hello? Then she listened to what I had to say.. and said "Well you don't have a fever, you aren't throwing up, and you aren't thrashing in pain.. What do you want to do?" Well I'm not thrashing because I'm trying to keep it together.. and when she pressed on my gallbladder I thought I was going to die... What do I want to do? I don't freaking know, I'm not a doctor! Her response was "no one in their right mind would operate on you. Go home, drink some Gatorade" That is when I started to cry.. "But how do I manage the pain? I can't work like this I can barely move" her response was.. and I'm completely serious.. "DEAL WITH IT" I cried harder now, mostly because I was so horrified at how I was being treated and was in so much pain. Finally she said "Well I guess you could go to the ER if that's what you want but they and they are just going to send you home" Her nurse wheeled me down.... and a few hours later gallbladder was removed. It was huge, full of stones, and without a doubt needed to be removed. The staff at the ER was shocked when I told them what my doctor said. I will never come back. I'm calling everyone I've ever recommended to tell them my story. I'm disgusted. read more

After seeing these super negative reviews, I had to post something. I've been going to Dr. Roberts (and seeing her associate Sarah, too) since 2010 and I've only had the best, most professional service. Both doctors are super easy to talk to, you can be real with them and they are cool with you and up front with you and are both just super, super awesome ladies. I can't really say enough positive adjectives for both of them. As far as this "rude" receptionist Daisy everyone keeps talking about... I don't know any of the receptionist ladies' names but ever since I've gone there there has been one younger lady and they've recently added another lady. I'll admit that the younger lady has been a little short with me in the past, but more in a way that meant she was just trying to be efficient. But the past three times I've gone in past 8-ish months, she's been very nice and super compassionate, and once we even talked about our pets for a bit before the doctor saw me so that's a plus in my book. Maybe she's read the reviews on here or something, but both receptionists in the past year have been great, too. I just feel the need to give these ladies mad props because I, like, hate doctors/medical stuff and they always make me feel good and I always leave knowing everything is gonna be okay. This is the absolutely the worst office you can visit. I actually wrote a 5 star review in the past which I deleted to now write this follow up review. Dr. Roberts is an okay/good doctor, but only if she believes she can make $$$ of you! She will want to see you for every even small request, you can not call the office asking for a refill or information they will tell you need to come in. Then when you come in she will act like she doesn't want to see you. Getting medical records from that office has been a nightmare. The Receptionist/ Nurse Daisy is a nasty miserable human being who is beyond rude and unhelpful. She seems like a very unhappy person who hates her job or life. I honestly feel sorry for her and what a shame that people like her are working in the medical field. Please stay away, when you need a doctor this is the last thing you want to deal with. read more

What's the worst thing about going to the doctor (other than being sick)? The waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting some more. I recently went to Dr. Roberts for the first time and did. not. wait. at. all! Seriously! It was amazing. The receptionist was friendly and gave me ONE brief form to fill out. All of the rest is digital (yay for eco-friendliness!). The receptionist/nurse checked me in and took my stats and told me the dr would be right in. I opened my book and didn't even finish one sentence before Dr. Roberts came in to see me. Initially I found her a bit off-putting, but we warmed up to each other. She took the time to explain things to me and answer my questions fully and really listen to my complaints and issues. She seemed genuinely concerned about my health and well-being and was not one who was quick to just write a Rx to shut me up. Oh, and you get to wear spa-quality bathrobes for your exams! AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. If I could give Dr. Roberts less than a star, I would. I have been a patient at her office for a little less than a year, and have visited on a couple occasions regarding some different concerns about my physical and mental health. I have always seen Alissa, her NP, in the office - Alissa is friendly and kind, but I never left the office feeling like I had any real answers to my questions (more of a "let's wait and see" approach). This week, I requested a video visit with Dr. Roberts herself for an ongoing issue I have been having since seeing Alissa in January. Dr. Roberts was cold and cruel during our video call, saying things to me that include (verbatim) "this just sounds like a list of complaints", "in medicine, we deal with things that could actually kill you", and "what I want to know is why you're so desperate". I hung up from the video call feeling shamed and humiliated. I will NOT be returning to Dr. Roberts' office and I hope I can convince others to avoid this treatment at all costs - no one needs to feel bullied by their doctor when seeking help for problems that already have them feeling down. read more

I didn't see Dr. Roberts, but her NP, Amy, who was wonderful. It was probably the best treatment I've had in Chicago - no wait, comfortable setting, very sweet receptionists who WANT to help you get in and out faster, and a fast visit overall, which it should be. Amy was very sweet and easy to talk to, and lets you know what is going on at all times. She offered me a robe and made everything as comfortable as possible. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who needs a yearly exam, and I'm sure Dr. Roberts is fantastic, too. read more

Pros: Convenient location, spa-like atmosphere (music, robes, etc.), incredible nurse practitioner Sarah Williams, short wait time, one stop shop (does annual pap smear in office) Cons: She gaslights me. She's condescending and dismissive. She treated me like a hypochondriac then barely apologized when the lab tests (which I had to beg for) showed something was seriously wrong. On another occasion, I asked to see a specialist that she'd referred me to once before. She said she had never heard of that doc & had never sent me there. She stopped just short of calling me a liar. I had to call the specialist's office and have them fax her the records proving she had indeed referred me to their office about 18 mos ago. She didn't apologize. She recalls running tests that I've never taken. She's just a hot mess. And mean to boot. I can't believe I stuck with her for 7 years. First of all I should have read the reviews before putting myself through this mess with Dr. Roberts and her office. I work in the medical field and directly with patents and this office and staff have no clue what they are doing. Before coming to the office I made sure 3 times that they took my insurance and was told every time, YES. Upon meeting with Dr. Roberts for my second visit that was for a physical exam she was so unprofessional. She made the whole appointment about how if I wanted my anxiety prescription filled she would have to send me to a psychiatrist. I didn't come to the office to hear about your beliefs and how you practice medicine or how awful my original doctor is. I just had moved to Chicago at the time and have had the same doctor who I trust back home my whole life. She talked so poorly about how he was wrong for giving me a drug that will make me addicted. She then wrote me a prescription as an alternative. I took the medication as directed and felt so off that I became depressed and started having suicidal thoughts. I immediately called my doctor and he told me to not take what she had prescribed and to continue my original medication. I knew I would never go back to her or her office. As much as I was angered, I decided not to write a negative review and just move on with my life. Two months ago I got a bill in the mail for $300 for visits that weren't covered by my insurance because her office in fact didn't accept it. Keep in mind my first appointment was in July of 2017, so why am i just now finding out about this? Then going back and forth through the office and their collection department for the last two months. Their has been zero follow up from her office but they said that they would bring my payment down to $100. The collection department (Jeff) said to wait on paying the balance because something didn't seem right. This was two weeks ago and still no follow up for either of them. Came home today a got a bill in the mail for $300. I will do everything in my power to run this doctor and her practice who should be out of business into the ground. I saw Dr. Roberts for years and I should have ran the first time she mistreated me. She is the worst doctor I have ever seen and I will do everything in my power to make sure everyone knows what a terrible doctor and human she is. I complained to her for years of pain that she basically told me I was making up, which now seeing a real doctor I know is real, and could have been easily fixed if she did her job. My last visit to her was after a car accident I was in so much pain and not getting any sleep because of the pain. She accused me of being a drug addict because I asked for something for the pain, then when I started sobbing she made me fill out a form saying I wasn't suicidal and basically made fun of me for crying. Dr. Roberts does not have any sensitivity or kindness in dealing with patients. She should be ashamed of the way she treats people. I have never been treated with such disrespect by a medical professional in my life, and I would never treat another human being so poorly. She was my doctor for almost 2 years and I gave her many opportunities to prove me wrong. Because of my insurance at the time (and an inability to change to another doctor because I couldn't get an appointment at any of the good ones) I kept going back to her for basic appointments. Dr Leigh Roberts is a good and caring doctor but her partner Alyssa Roberts is a terrible doctor who doesn't care about patients. The problem is that you go there and give them your I Sundance and they still charge the patient, constantly harassed the patient when it is supposed to pay the insurance company. Dr. Roberts is dismissive, vague, and rude. I have no idea who she thinks she is, talking to patients in an openly condescending and disdainful manner, but I'm not one to shrink in the face of needless hostility. I started responding to her in the tone she was speaking to me in and she didn't do a 180, but she did reign in her tone significantly. I shouldn't have to get in a "tone war" with somebody who is being paid handsomely to look after my health. The nurse practitioner on staff is pleasant and thorough. I wish when I had called to follow up about a medication I was taking, that I had been put in touch with her instead. The front desk staff is good, too. I have decided to seek a different PCP. You probably should, too. Unless you just need a last minute appointment for a run-of-the mill antibiotic or something. read more

I chose this practice and Dr. Roberts for my personal care physician (PCP) back in February 2018 because I had been lax with my personal care and wanted to get back on a good regimen under the guidance of a pcp. I had chosen Dr. Roberts despite some of the reviews, but I should have listened to the reviewers and my instincts. I went in with a list of problems I was having, and at the first consult "visit" I met the APN, Allysa - a nice person, by the way, but that's beside the point. I didn't think much of this at all. It's happened before that I've met with an APN before meeting the physician. The problem was that I NEVER MET THE PHYSICIAN! My biggest complaint is that I NEVER ONCE MET DR. ROBERTS, TO THIS DAY - even after having been a patient there for 4 months! What kind of practice is this? The APN and I reviewed everything. I mentioned all of my aches and pains, and discussed my goals of getting back on track with my care. She refilled my prescriptions, although she started me on a lower dosage of my diabetic meds than I was on when I stopped taking them. My diabetes had certainly NOT gotten better, so I didn't understand why we were going backwards with the treatment. I went along with it because I assumed it would be obvious at my next visit that the smaller dosage wasn't working, and I would be bumped up to where I was. That didn't happen. I should have left at that point. I returned a few times to meet with the APN, who reviewed my blood pressure logs and my A1C logs, and that was it. Office visit charge! I had to ask for blood tests to see where I was at with various things. I had discovered from the initial visit that I was anemic, but I don't think my levels were monitored very well. The advice I got on how to treat it went from take 3 Iron supplements a day, every day, to take 3 Iron supplements a day, for 3 days out of the week. Again, not sure how going backwards is going to improve anything. Less than 24 hours later, I received a phone message from the front desk at the office that I needed to see a gastroenterologist about the anemia. I think I should have been called by either the doctor or the APN to explain why the sudden shift in treatment over 24 hours, and what the plan was, but didn't hear from either medical professional. The final straw was when I was called by the front desk and told I needed to come to the office so that they could take my blood pressure. I asked what else would be done, and was told nothing else. I declined. If they thought I was going to take time off of work, travel all the way to the office so they could just take my blood pressure, then charge me for an office visit? No way. Time for a new PCP. Really. Read the reviews. And think hard before you decide to see this doctor, because the chances are, YOU WON'T EVER BE SEEN BY THIS DOCTOR, LET ALONE BE INTRODUCED TO HER! read more

I will never return to this office. Most of the staff is either incompetent or rude. Dr Roberts herself is also actually very rude and love to push pills. The worst yet on 2 separate occasions, she withheld my prescription refills (both critical ones) and informed that she will not refill my prescription unless i make an appointment to come in. I wasnt sick or had any reason to go into the office, these were routine refills that she deliberately phoned into to the pharmacy to stop the refills. This woman is a miserable person. Due to crappy insurance, she was my only option for the past 3 years. I am so looking forward to open enrollment in November when I will be able to change my plan and make sure I never have to see such a bad doctor ever again. It all started 3 years ago at my first appointment when I was just starting to think about trying to get pregnant, she told me straight to my face that I probably would never get pregnant with the specific plan I had. I got emotional at that appointment based on her response, and she then told me I should see a therapist and stress wasn't good for someone who wanted to get pregnant soon. She has no bedside manner and no human decency. Over the past 3 years, I've had multiple issues with her. I always saw her for annual exams and found her to be very difficult with very normal requests. I requested she refer me to a lab to get my cholesterol levels tested because of family history, and she refused and said I would need to see a specialist for that type of referral. I also asked her for a referral for a dermatologist because I have a history of having pre-cancerous moles removed. She refused to refer me because she said "she saw no concerning moles on my body herself." She's not a skin specialist, and there was simply no reason to deny me a referral. My insurance required referrals from my primary in order for me to see specialists, and she made it impossible. As if I didn't have enough reasons to run from this horrendous doctor, my final straw was just recently--I injured my knee, and I again required a referral from my primary in order to see a specialist for an MRI. Even though I had already had an annual exam with her only weeks earlier, she required I come in to see her in person (although that meant waiting 3 days before she could see me), charged me a $50 appointment fee, so she could jerk my injured knee around in person before writing the referral. Any other doctor would have called in a referral to a specialist immediately in this situation because immediate attention to the severity of the injury was important. I truly believe she does not care about her patients at all and is even a sadist. DO NOT expose yourself to the unprofessionalism of this doctor. She should have her medical license removed. read more

I wish I could give this doctor 0 stars - she is as bad as everyone says she is. I went in twice in a year for stomach issues and each time she told me it's because I am in my mid-twenties and dealing with stress. She didn't run any tests and wouldn't refer me to a GI doctor. She told me to take fiber and that would solve my issues. One year later, I finally went to a qualified doctor and was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. This is a chronic illness that should have been treated as soon as possible. I will never go back to Dr. Leigh again and quite frankly I don't understand how she is still a licensed medical professional based on all the horrible reviews. Steer clear! read more

I went to Dr. Roberts and never got the feeling that she was really listening. I went in for a respiratory issue, and it was never resolved. I left the office feeling like I was a hypochondriac. Later after not being in her office for two years I visited for a GI issue. After I told her what I thought it was she said why are you here when you seem to know what it is? I thought that I had an issue with gluten and even though she told me I didn't need to get tested I went forward with a test. It turned out negative but I still had issues so i decided to go without wheat for 6 months. A year later I finally figured out that my issue was with dairy and that I am most likely lactose intolerant. I have been going to Dr. Leigh Roberts as my general practitioner and as my obgyn and she is fabulous! She makes everyone feel welcome and she is really laid back. She really listens to you. Her lobby area is so relaxing and feels more like your own living room than a doctors office. Instead of putting on a paper gown (cringe) she gives you a soft, cozy robe to put on as well! To be more personal, she takes a photo of everyone to put in their files. She wants to put a face to every name! This is a wonderful office and terrific service! Dr. Roberts made me want to cry. I have never been treated so horribly by a medical professional. I came in after experiencing headaches and dizzy-spells and recently fainting. BEFORE EVEN TALKING TO ME OR LOOKING AT ME she said "well, there is most likely nothing wrong with you, is there some made-up fantasy disease that I should know about?" She then proceeded to ask me rushed questions for about 3 minutes, looked in my ears and told me to take Tylenol. I was so overwhelmed by her unprofessional conduct and blatant meanness I could not even gather my thoughts. *I've only written 1 other review for Yelp! in my life, but I feel a responsibility to let the world, and maybe Dr. Roberts know my experience* Dr. Roberts doesn't play any games, plain and simple. She thinks she knows what's best and I get the feeling it's because she dealt with so many over-worried "Oh my throat hurts" or "Oh, I think I broke somethings" and is just tired of people who think they're severely ill when they aren't. For almost 3 years I thought she was trying to save us both time, and me money by not taking unnecessary tests. I think differently now and will never go back. I first went to her in 2010, and remember leaving thinking maybe I had been over-exaggerating whatever was ailing me. This is only notable because prior to that visit I was used to doctors trying to make me feel better, not making me feel like I was making my illness up. I must not have been too affected by her bedside manner though because all following visits to her were otherwise unremarkable or pleasant - I only had the pleasure of seeing Sarah once - she is really great and the empathetic-opposite to Dr. Roberts. Fast forward to Fall 2013. I go in for a follow-up from an exam a few weeks earlier. I had been feeling extremely achey, feverish, and fatigued a number of days beforehand and held off making an appointment with another doctor because I knew I would be seeing my regular physician within the next few days. At the appointment she doesn't even ask how I'm doing, but I have to interrupt her to iterate that I think I'm getting sick - feeling achey, chills, not sleeping but always tired etc - and I think I need to have my temperature. She literally tells me "I bet you are sick, there a lot of things going around right now, but this is not that appointment." She didn't even pull out the thermometer before she started in on this procedure that was a biopsy. Now, I realize I had been scheduled for probably a 30-45 minute slot with her and she was probably extremely busy, however...she doesn't even take my temperature before starting in on some procedure that's going to draw blood? Had she taken my temperature that day, she would've found out that I'd had a severe fever, a symptom of what I later found out was LYME DISEASE. She again, made me think I was over-exaggerating, so I waited another week before I saw another doctor, at that point I was in Stage 2 of 3 of Lyme. She was the first doctor I went to when my symptoms starting manifesting and she brushed me off. The Lyme Disease adventure after that involved an ER, 5 days in two more hospitals, Bell's Palsy, a month of self-administered intravenous treatment, and living with my parents for 2 more months because I was too weak for care myself. Who knows how much of that mess I could've prevented if a doctor saw that I had been functioning at 100+ degrees almost 14 days before I was officially diagnosed. Getting Lyme Disease wasn't her fault, but I'll never be going to Dr. Roberts again because I literally can't afford a doctor who won't listen to me when I know something is wrong with me. read more

Dr. Roberts is the worst doctor I have ever been to. She was my PCP and OBGYN for 3 years when I lived in Chicago. I visited her multiple times with sinus infections, and she prescribed me Flonase and Alka-Seltzer, which were absolutely useless. I have suffered from sinus headaches and infections for years, and when her treatment was of no help I asked for a referral to an ENT. She refused to give me one, telling me that they were too expensive and that I didn't need one. I now live in Las Vegas and started seeing a new doctor. Dr. Chuang took one look at me and gave me a referral to an ENT. The ENT immediately pointed out that I have a severely deviated septum, which is why I can't breathe from my nose, and a CT scan showed that I have no openings to my lower sinus cavities, causing them to be perpetually clogged. I now need to have sinus surgery. Dr. Roberts disbelief of patients' symptoms is beyond rude. When I went to her with one of my sinus infections she said, "If I had the cure to everything I'd be sitting on an island." Sarah, the Nurse Practitioner is wonderful. I stayed with Roberts' practice for as long as I did only because Sarah was so kind and helpful. She was the first person I saw for a pap smear, and she talked me through the entire thing and made it far less scary than anticipated. When I needed another pap to receive a refill on my birth control prescription, Sarah was unavailable so I had to see Dr. Roberts. Roberts did not talk me through the inspection like Sarah did. Roberts did not warn me before using the speculum, which I personally found this rude and invasive, as I would like to consent before anyone sticks anything inside of me. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Both my dad and I have been seeing Dr. Roberts for some time now, and she's been great. She takes a lot of time to listen to her patients and give broad-ranging advice. She's very friendly and personable, as is her staff. Finally, for those of you who don't like waiting at the doctor's office, you'll feel perfectly at ease in the waiting room here. I love the nurse practitioner, Sarah. She is wonderful. She listened to me and helped me decide what path to take for my illness. However, I have seen Dr. Roberts a couple of times and the first time she seemed okay. Not as good as Sarah, but not horrible. The second time I went to see her, she scolded me like I was a child because I went to the ER because I had hives and a hard time breathing. She told me I should have called her first before going to the ER to get permission. Then she told me it wasn't life threatening and she didn't understand why the hospital prescribed me an Epipen. Then she tried to prescribe me a medication I was highly allergic to because she did not look at my file where it was clearly red flagged. When I told her I couldn't take it, she yelled at me and then acted as if it was my fault I was allergic to the medications. I wish Sarah worked else where so I could continue to see her, but after that experience I will not be coming back to that office. read more

Dr. Roberts is someone who is a drain on the medical and insurance industry. She will refuse to write you a script and call it in unless you stop by her office first, why you ask? All so she can bill you for the office visit. There used to be such a thing as a family doctor - she is not one. Don't waste your time on this office. You can get in to see this doctor the next day which should be the first clue of service level, however if you are 5 minutes late, she will refuse to see you. Parking is horrible and not explained so let me be the one to say that it will take you 12 minutes to get to the top floor of the parking garage where spots are available. I am 37 weeks pregnant and was involved in a car accident so moving slower than most at this point. I made the appointment to see what treatment for my injuries would be best. Not one person was in the waiting room when I arrived but was told that since I was 5 minutes late that I was taken out of the schedule. The receptionist said that she tried to call and I explained that I was in the elevator where cell phones do not work heading to the office. She said she would need to talk to the doctor to see if I could be seen. The doctor told her that I would need to come back later. Again not one person was in the waiting room and the day prior when I made the appointment they had multiple time slots available after my appointment time. I was willing to wait since I was 5 minutes late but was told that since I still needed to register that she couldn't see me. I explained that I registered online which the doctor and receptionist should've seen. The whole experience was terrible so I left and found another doctor with Rush. Clearly I should've read the reviews before scheduling. Don't waste your time on this office. read more

Called in and scheduled a CDL physical here. They assured me that they were qualified to issue a medical examiner certificate. Showed up to the appointment and 20 minutes later the nurse let me know they weren't qualified to issue one. They also called me after I left the office to let me know that I would have to come back to the office and swipe my card if they were going to return my copay. Extremely unprofessional. I can't speak for the doctors, but the office is run by a clown. If you aren't qualified to offer a service, don't be lazy and just say you do. Do your damn job. read more

Dr. Roberts, Sarah and Daisy are all very nice women. The office reception area is calm and relaxing, with nice tea and coffee table books celebrating women. I have never had a bad experience dealing with this office and I've been going since 2011. They are generally very efficient and get you in and out as soon as they can, but at the same time will talk to you as long as you want if you have any questions. All you have to do is ask. Recently I went in to get vaccinations for an overseas trip and Dr. Roberts sat with me and went through everything from recommended shots to clothing that repels insects. My care by Dr Roberts was generally OK, although she is not he most personable individual. I left her care after the following happened. Dr. Roberts suggested that I have a colonoscopy & her staff told me that I would have a $35 co-pay would be my only cost based on her staff's review of my insurance benefits. The procedure was done at Illinois Masonic. I received a bill for $500+. The co-pay was for the procedure's doctor. The additional cost, which were not covered by my insurance were for procedure room cost & other support staff cost. I WAS TOLD THERE WOULD BE NO COST OVER THE $35. When I communicated the details of this situation & my financial burden to Dr. Roberts, I NEVER GOT ANY RESPONSE. It was then that I knew I needed to find another doctor. read more

I seen the Nurse practitioner Allyson. I went in yesterday because my left ear and lymph node were in so much pain, swollen, and tender to the touch. They squeezed me in during my lunch break which I appreciated but I spent over 20 minutes in the office for her to tell me she had no clue what was wrong with me. Today I had an appointment for a physical and felt like none of my concerns were addressed. I asked to get vitamin levels and iron tested and she argued with me that she would get "dinged" for ordering an unnecessary test. I did mention to her that I have a history of low vitamin D and that I would like to get my vitamins checked because I am now vegetarian. She said "it's not necessary because you're body only needs a small amount of vitamins to function". I never felt so mad with a doctors office before. You literally have to BEG for tests to be drawn because they feel tests are unnecessary. I will never be returning here and will be switching my PCP ASAP. Don't waste your time coming here. read more

Having read the reviews, I was a bit nervous about using this practice, but on ZocDoc they had an appointment open today and I needed a doctor. I didn't not experience Daisy (though she is still working there), but the new receptionist, NaEshley, was fabulous. I also did not experience Dr. Roberts, but the nurse practitioner, Sarah Williams, was as warm and professional and lovely to work with as Dr. Roberts is reported to not be. I had a terrific experience my first time here and will keep going until I start having negative experiences (which may or may not be when I encounter Daisy and/or Dr. Roberts for the first time). I would recommend this practice to anybody, particularly if they can be seen by Sarah Williams. read more

I agree with Megan as I do not understand the few negative reviews as I did my homework both on line and asking friends/co-workers for an excellent doctor. Dr. Robert's was recommended by several people who have had only great experiences at her office. I have seem her three times in the past year and all of them consistently exceptional. My wait times never exceed 10 minutes, her staff is professional, and I find Dr. Roberts to be both professional and friendly. She has worked with me on a treatment plan - always providing her opinion and answering my questions completely. What I have liked about Dr. Roberts is that she actually takes her time. She listens. I have never felt rushed OR talked down to....which is typically how I have experienced doctors. She also answers pages - which my last doctor did after about 10 hours of waiting! She also has made time to see me "same day". I have looked over many reviews before selecting Dr. Roberts including ZocDoc which are verified patient reviews - she has well over 100 4-5 stars....inconsistent with some of what I have read on this site. I hate to see such a great physician get a bad rap from a few reviews. I highly recommend Dr. Roberts - as do many of us. read more

DO NOT GO SEE THIS DOCTOR. She is probably one of the rudest physicians I have ever seen. She does not listen or respect her patients and is only kind when you do exactly what she says without asking questions. She scolded me for going to the ER when her office was closed for a medical emergency, then she opened the door and walked out. No exam, no follow-up on the issue, no review of labs still pending. Nothing. Seeing anyone else is a big step up! read more

I don't understand the negative posts from the others. I've been to see Dr. Robers twice and each visit has been great. The front desk staff, while not overly friendly, are pleasant and efficient. I didn't have to wait long for my appointment (and thanks to a very nice waiting room, the time I was there gave me a chance to relax before the appointment). During the time with Dr. Roberts, I found her to be thorough and clear. She listened to my concerns, explained my options, and then talked me through her suggestions. She respected my requests when I asked for a different medication (for a preexisting and previously treated conditions). Though clearly letting me know why she felt another option might be better, she ultimately letting me decide. I also really liked that during the exam, she explained what she what she was doing and then gave honest and clear feedback. As a bit of an anxious 'patient' she made going to the doctor a good experience. read more

Have you ever had your doctor put their hand in your face and tell you to leave now and that they don't have time to deal with your medical problem. Doctor Roberts did that very same thing to me. I had to have done something wrong or had to have been rude or demanding. Nope! I simply came into the office to talk to her or Daisy the receptionist about a medication that I've been on for years. The fact that I came in as a customer or any time I call as a customer really seams to ruffle her feathers and I seem to be a real burden any time you talk to her or her office staff. So here is my issue that really seems to be getting under her skin. 3 weeks ago I walked into my pharmacy and like I always do, put in my refill of this medicine I've been taking since 2007. The pharmacist told me it was up for pre authorization which is normal. I watched them send it over. A week later I went back to pick it up and nothing had been done. I asked the doctors office what happened and they said they didn't get it but I needed blood work. I said fine so I got my bloodwork and a week later Daisy called back and said I was declined. She said call the insurance and appeal which is something only a doctor can do. I called my insurance and they told me that the problem was that the doctor put on the form that it was prescreening which means that with the medication in my body would appear normal. Now I'm going on almost a month without meds and on top of it all not only does she not get on the phone and fix the problem but she also has no time to deal with it. She is very upset that I have bothered her. If your doctor doesn't advocate for you who will. I will be speaking with my feat and finding another doctor and you should too. I don't use Yelp very often (and never write reviews) but I wish I would have looked at the comments here before selecting Dr. Roberts as my PCP. She has been absolutely horrible. Whenever I've gone in for anything, even preventative care, I've been treated like a hypochondriac and a burden. She's been incredibly rude, judgmental, and difficult to to deal with, but my most recent interaction with her was so bad that I won't be seeing her anymore. I went in because I wasn't feeling great, and in addition to her normal rude, "there is nothing wrong with you" attitude, this time she was reluctant to even give me a simple test because she didn't think I was actually sick. After getting the test it turned out I was sick and was able to get the antibiotics that I needed. Unfortunately, after a week I was still not feeling better. I was unable to make it to her evening hours that week and asked her to refer me to urgent care as is required with my HMO. She told me that since she has the evening hours my insurance requires its not her problem if I can't make them, and that if I'm not sick enough to miss work to come in or in "excruciating pain" I can wait until next week, which seems absolutely ridiculous. On top of that, when I called my insurance company to switch PCPs today, I found out she was overcharging me for my co-pay every time I saw her. I always thought her front desk staff was friendly and I can't say anything about the NP that works with her, but DO NOT use Dr. Roberts as your doctor. read more

I am so excited to have found Dr. Robert's. She is thorough, kind and professional. I left feeling validated and cared for. I have had some pretty shady doctors in Chicago, and am relieved to find someone who is compassionate and appears to have a feminist agenda. but that may just be hopeful thinking. read more
