Update: I went here again the other day I was fine, then when I sat down and drank their Thai tea, not sure what they poured in it, spoiled milk or dish washing liquid or something but I got the worst stomach bug. The pho was ok. I noticed it was that because I didn't finish the drink then later on the next day after I felt better I finished that drink and felt the Same weird way again. Lei Kitchen off of Saratoga in Corpus. This place was a gem! We went at lunch, and while service seemed slow- I honestly think it's because everything was cooked fresh. We ordered spring rolls and Far East nachos for appetizers. The spring rolls had fresh grilled pork and were served still warm. Not those prepped and chilled spring rolls you get elsewhere.(they were also twice the size of the normal spring rolls, as you can see in the photo both had already been eaten on lol) The Far East nachos were absolute flavor bombs and could honestly be a meal itself. My boyfriend ordered the beef, bok choy and mushroom plate. A simple plate but was absolutely delicious. And I ordered the beef lo mein, also amazing in flavor. Both plates came with the most delicious egg drop soup. A hearty robust flavor, probably one of the best egg drop soups I've had. If you have time to check this little place out, I highly recommend it. We had 4 dishes and an order of egg rolls all for only $37. My wife and I were driving through Corpus to go to the beach and were craving Asian. We found Lei Kitchen from the great Yelp reviews and ratings and it didn't disappoint. I tried the Mongolian Chicken. Amazing flavor and just the right portion. My wife had the Grilled Shrimp Vermicelli salad that hit the right craving. This place has great food and is good for children, though there isn't really space for strollers. Every plate I've ordered has been good, but they are perpetually understaffed. I feel for the waitresses. You can be standing with the hostess placing your order and she will stop, answer the phone and start taking someone else's order. It's pretty chaotic in there. Since the new owner took over maybe last year, I was hoping that the chargrilled pork spring rolls would still be there. When I went there to try their lunch specials today, the chinese luck sign was upside down on the front door..first red flag. Ordered some sweet tea which was not sweetened enough and the tea tasted like it was steeped too long. Tried out the pork char siew and rice dish with the egg drop soup. Sadly, the pork was more like thinly sliced pork heavily sauced in hoisin sauce and maybe an off putting soy sauce.... (second red flag) I didn't order it with a fried egg, yet i got one on my plate. Overall, a bit oily than I would like and short grain rice which was dried out almost stale like. The "salad" part of my dish was not dressed. Mostly yellow color lettuce, uneven slices of carrots and two pieces of pickled daikon. My mother had the grilled meat spring rolls which the rice paper were super gummy like, had too much bean sprouts and the meat was super chewy. (Third red flag) she tried the beef with bok choy and shitake mushroom which she got only like 5 pieces of the stem part the bok choy. She couldn't even finish her dried up white rice. Wasn't even hot.. In conclusion, we were terribly disappointed and left unfulfilled after eating here :( read more

Just moved to Corpus from Austin and have been trying to find decent Asian food. After months of being disappointed by countless Asian restaurants I found LEI. The best way to describe this place is the perfect balance of quality and quantity. The food here is the freshest, most tasty, and comforting. I got 4 take out items that the whole family really enjoyed. The Veggie PHO was addictive, my girlfriend got the grilled shrimp vermicelli that was packed with great tasting shrimp. We also got the the bulgulgi over rice which was out of this world, and the shrimp friend rice was also nice. Everything here was a slam dunk. I look forward to dining in when Covid is over, but they're food was unbelievably good for take out! read more

Everytime I dine at Lei's Kitchen I find a new favorite dish. I am a person that typically finds a dish that I like and I never try anything else. I only ordered pho the first three times I came here. However, I came here one time and I wasn't really hungry so I ordered some chicken wings- best I've ever had. Next time, I ordered the pad thai- best I've ever had. This time I tried the Mongolian master- delicious. This is the finest dining experience you will ever find at less than $40 a plate, and it's only $10 a plate! This place is great. I have ordered from this restaurant a few times beforw and I am always satisfied, at least for my taste. I enjoy Thai and Vietnamese food and this restaurant serves a few dishes that I enjoy. One of the dishes I order either on a cool day or just a lazy day in the house is the Pho combo. The broth is great on this dish and it comes with meatballs, thin sliced steak and brisket as well as all the veggie trimmings. Another dish I truly love is the Chinese Pork Char Siew and rice. The ribs have great flavor and blend well with the rice, fried egg and salad and the char taste is as good as any American bbq counterpart or perhaps even better. The final dish I would recommend is the seafood clay pot. Ofcourse, this is for my taste again but I really enjoy that this dish is cooked with rice, scallops, shrimp, squid, fishballs and tofu in the same pot. Essentially every bite taste like the last and you won't be disappointed if you enjoyed your first bite. I tried several appetizers as well such as the spring rolls, egg rolls and fried calamari but my one favorite appetizer here is the grilled quail. It is well grilled and not overwhelming in flavor as quail normally is. I would definately recommend everyone give this little corner restaurant a try and venture into some of there many other dishes. I am sure they have something here for everyone (allergies not withstanding.) I believe they don't cook with peanut oil but ofcourse you may have to do some additional research if you have allergies to any other type of food or ingredient. Please note, this is not a big restaurant but there is normally enough seating if you want to stop by for lunch. The staff is also very friendly. I hope this review helps. read more
