The cashier gave no greeting, no smile, no "thank you," no "have a nice day" ... nothing. He simply handed me the bag without saying a word. Wth? That kind of cold, indifferent service really stands out in a customer-facing position. A clean, well-run store loses a lot of goodwill when the final interaction feels that dismissive. Management should seriously look at cashier training and basic customer-service standards. A simple greeting and thank-you cost nothing, but they make a big difference.

But the thing that encourages me to visit and spend my money versus going to the competition are responses like the one left by this co-owner. This is an individual who really cares about the business and understands that without its customers the business evaporates.
