The entrance is towards the back of the building and I was a little confused but then saw people walking that direction, so it all made sense. I was greeted right away by members. First up were heavy back squats and I was immediately approached by a member asking if I wanted to share a rack with her. That made me feel so at ease since there aren't a lot of racks. She was so friendly! The coaching was on point and the energy levels were high. When I was walking out, I had two different members ask me if I needed a ride anywhere. How awesome is that?! Anyway, this place has a super friendly vibe and an amazing community. I'm so happy to have dropped in here and will definitely be back the next time I'm in town. I love seeing crossfit communities thrive like this post pandemic. It's so heartwarming.

The class I attended was very barbell heavy and seemed to have a strong focus on strength which was fantastic for me. They scale workouts for each individual based on their current level of fitness and their ultimate goals. Cons: *grab your popcorn* -The first turn off was signing up for a trial class- at 5 am, and being told when I got there my spot was taken by paying members. -The second was walking into the gym and after doing body scans (InBody) they show you a picture of womens' midsections and body fat and ask you "which do you want your body to look like?" This was SUCH a turn off for me but for some reason I decided to give it a chance. I understand a metric is needed and this may work for a lot of people, seems like it does, but it was just so ick to me as well as unrealistic. -Turns out this is one of those money maker gyms that talks in circles and confuses you to make you think you are signing up for the 6 week program they say they are putting you on, only for me to attempt to cancel within the 15 days request period and learn the contract I signed was apparently for a 12 months! READ THE FINE PRINT AND GET A COPY OF YOUR CONTRACT!! I feel like this whole situation was crafted in a distinct way to no allow you to understand fully, to sign, and to not give you a copy of your contract but think you got away with a good deal/membership. -The gym was unfriendly and unwelcoming. They have a good facade going making it seem like they are into building community. They have group hikes, bike rides and spirit days, but when it came to time inside the gym my experience was that no one cared if I was there or not. I don't need to be best friends with everyone or anyone for that matter, but especially when working out before the crack of dawn a "Hi" or 'Hello" goes a long way. That's a big factor in wanting to come back to a gym, especially a small one like this. This is not your big box gym after all. At minimum the coaches should offer a greeting. The group I trained with was very clicky. I will say the afternoon groups seemed to be more welcoming. After making my feelings on the matter known to the gym owner it seemed there had been a coaches meeting or something because I got more "Hi's" and "How are you's?" from the staff in my last week there then in my previous 5 weeks combined. -The 6 week program: overall fine, but be wary of the nutrition program. I feel like it was portrayed as they would give you meal plans and/or outlines and what to eat. They give you a list of foods to eat and everyone gets the same foods and eats the same amount. That's the plan. -When you sign up for strength classes you are allotted a time slot which is yours for the day and time you sign up for each week. Fine. What is annoying is that if you can't make that time they don't have an app where you can change your time to or a mindbody type thing where you can swap. You text the coaches to see if there is room in the class you want to be in. This is SUPER ANNOYING because most of the time I don't' know who is coaching what class so then they are texting each other to see if it's ok OR they just say "I'm sure it'll be fine" Which would maybe be fine if I didn't get booted out of my first attempt at class and I'm not trying to wake up and be at the gym at 5am to not get to do the workout I signed up for or was told it would be fine to to come to! Pros: -Clean facility -Good equipment -Workouts were nice Overall I would not recommend. I think they are in it for the money and while we were able to come to a "compromise" for the agreement I signed there were so many red flags I should've listened to. I chose Brickz because when I searched it was one of the only gyms I found with small group training. JUST BE CAREFUL, MAKE SURE YOU READ EVERYTHING AND THOROUGHLY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR BEFORE YOU DO, AS WELL AS FEEL COMFORTABLE. I returned home and received an email from iron soul stating that my membership had been cancelled because I was "staring at female members and making them feel uncomfortable". I had no idea what they were talking about and racked my brain as to how something I did could be labeled as excess staring . I called and left a message for an explanation and right to defend myself, I emailed back and asked how they could kick me out without speaking to me on the matter based on someone's subjective opinion of what my eyes where doing. They did not answer my calls during business hours and did not respond to my email as of yet. They labeled me guilty without the decency of giving me a combat veteran and first responder the right to defend myself against accusations on my character. This is such a disappointment because I loved the training there so much However if this is how they do business and I feel that I have to walk on eggshells and look at the ground in order to not inadvertently offend someone there than I rather not be a part of that gym. Hope you have a better experience than I did however another former member I know was telling me something similar happened to him so I'm not crazy.

The place is open from early morning til late and I felt it's not too busy. They don't have many of everything but the definitely have the things you need...and it's clean and not intimidating. The big plus for this is the price. It's extremely reasonable and..the membership together with weekly training session with a trainer comes to what I used to pay for (or even less than!) my previous gym membership at a nearby place. Not fancy..but it's almost always open when I need it to...and close enough to my house to feel motivated enough to go often for sure.

It is a pretty pricey membership to attend, but now that there are two locations, it does make it better value. If you miss a day or two, or even a week, it makes you regret spending a lot of money for a membership. That helps me be consistent, but it isn't always affordable or within my budget. I have recently re-joined after injuring myself likely due to heavy lifting worsened by my job of having to hike daily. I like that most of the trainers are well versed in how to modify the movements and keep it from hurting myself further. I wish that Cedar did more of the training herself because she is top notch. I appreciate trainers looking out for proper form and hope that going here will help me rebuild muscles and stabilizers for me to continue my journey.

Needless to say, his fears regarding CedarFit were misconstrued. The coaches at CedarFit take every care to ensure safety and form. This isn't to say that they go "easy" on you...these coaches will push you to your utmost potential as you evolve towards your fitness goals. Whether those goals are to lose weight, gain muscle, or just get healthy, they provide the tools and motivation to help you do your best. One thing I value more than anything about CedarFit is the community. It is one big happy family. One concern I had before starting was that it would be clicky or that people would be judgemental. Not here! I was warmly welcomed by all. Ever since joining the CedarFit family, i have made lasting friendships with other positive people.
