THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!!! Avoid this place if you have a family with children. We walked in the door and started to pay. Our 3-year-old grandson dropped a golf ball and the older woman with very short gray hair yelled at him that he couldn't play golf inside. Please remember he accidentally dropped the ball! We had a group of 4 children. She charged us for our 3-year-old grandson because she said she had to because there were only 3 adults playing the course (all children under 5 are supposed to be free). After we paid, she informed us we couldn't all golf together, so we said we would just go to another miniature golf course where we could all play together. She then barked that there were "no refunds" and that it clearly stated it on the door. The course barely had anyone there, so I'm not sure why she said we couldn't all be together and she should have warned us before we paid that we couldn't play as a family. She started barking orders and rules as we headed out the door. The gruff, rude, and overbearing behavior by this employee was something we should not have to experience as patrons of a business. We played miniature golf at Pirates Island the night before and had a very pleasant experience. We will never come back here again, all due to a horrible employee (or possible owner). This place IS NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!! When we turned our clubs in, we asked what her name was (she was not wearing a name tag) and she refused to tell us her name. read more

Absolutely fabulous! We're a golf family with children and adults of all ages and skill levels, and this course has become one of our absolute favorites. It's beautifully maintained, wonderfully challenging, and full of memorable moments from the first tee to the final putt. The staff is genuinely kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They go above and beyond, even sharing a few course management tips to help navigate the hazards and better read the greens. That personal touch made an already outstanding experience even better. In our opinion, this is the premier golf course on Hilton Head Island. Every round is a joy, and we find ourselves coming back again and again. We had an absolute blast! This was so much fun. The courses are well thought out and entertaining, it smells amazing because of the tea olive trees blooming, and it's nice and shady. I should have read the reviews before coming, but I got sucked in by the coupon in the tourist book and proximity to where we were staying, and off we went. The golf course itself was... fine? The setting was under trees, had water around, and was in decent repair. Why 2 stars? The religiosity shoved down your throat on every hole was over the top. This isn't buddy Jesus stuff, this is hell & brimstone stuff. I had an absolute jaw dropped moment as we kicked off the course to be immediately lectured about sin and god's wrath. LOVE this place! I have never seen a mini golf venue that has so much Christian encouragement and scripture - it is absolutely spectacular! The facility was very clean, the courses in great condition, and the worker was fabulous. Normally tourist places like this can be run down/trashy, but this was certainly not the case. The lady that greeted us was friendly and quick to explain their specials. We didn't have time for the all day pass, so went with 18 holes. She told us about the military discount, free to members, their spouses, AND kids. Talk about military appreciation! They also offer a wide variety of snacks and refreshments to get you ready for 18 holes. Once you step outside, you have 2 options: professional and legends. Obviously we went with legends! The holes were challenging, many with water or rock obstacles, but still a lot of fun! There were even several 5 par holes. We had an 8yr old with us and it was manageable for her so don't be afraid to let the kids try the legendary course. If your on HHI, I highly recommend Legends for you mini golf experience. We had a great time at this 36-hole course. As Christians, we loved that each of the holes greeted us with a Bible verse or an inspirational quote. Unfortunately we didn't get any holes in one, but for those who do, there are prizes! We were happy, however, that we found a coupon for free ice cream...each person in our threesome enjoyed a complimentary cold treat after our round of 18. This was our first time at Legendary Golf. The setting is beautiful - lots of large trees and established bushes and flowering plants. Nicely shaded. We played both courses. This is hands down the nicest and most well maintained/landscaped miniature golf course that we have ever been to! We were visiting the area in August and it's SO HOT! We saw this course while we were driving and noticed immediately that it was almost completely in the shade (aside from two holes). It was perfect and much cooler with the little break from the brutal sun. They have two courses (the "professional" and the "championship" we did the championship course and will probably be back later this week to do the other. The folks running this place are incredibly kind and friendly which was an added bonus. We can not recommend this place highly enough and look forward to coming back :) read more
