TLDR: Horrible store, much better options around.
Hands down the worst experience I've ever had with a Magic shop. The one thing that I can say is nice about the store is it is extremely organized. From there it is all downhill. If you are looking for any old cards they have plenty and are impressively sorted based on set, rarity, and color. They are most likely able to maintain such an impressive level of organization due to their lack of customers. No players in sight for card games or tabletop RPGs that would be found in a typical store. My first experience with this store really came to a head after I had decided that I did not want some of the cards I had selected after seeing the price. I, like many others, am on a budget and as a college student, I try to limit my spending on hobbies. Anyways, after seeing the total I asked to just get a portion of the cards and was informed by the worker who I can assume to be the owner that they "did not like it when people make them work and then don't buy everything they've asked for." Keep in mind here that I was still trying to purchase some of the cards just not ALL of the cards after the final total (which was undersold while everything was in the process of being counted up) had been established. After reaffirming that I was only interested in purchasing some of the cards I was told to "not buy cards here again," which is kind of misleading because I wasn't even allowed to purchase the cards which I did want. Let me restate how this was my FIRST EVER time in this shop and after asking to purchase some cards I had picked out and not some others I was effectively asked to leave and not return. I understand that this is all in text and I clearly had a negative experience so there is reasonable doubt that I was either more hostile or they were less hostile that I have made it out to be but I will say with complete honesty I was in no way aggressive or rude I had simply changed my mind on the contents of my purchase and it was, apparently, extremely poorly received. It isn't like I had done similar things before and was some sort of repeated offender, this was my very first time in this shop and I always attempt to support local businesses (especially an LGS because WOTC has been making their lives more and more difficult) but after only wanting to purchase a portion of the cards I had picked out I was asked to leave and not return, no problem. If you're in the Lexington area and are looking for either a place to play Magic, Yugioh, or whatever have you that an LGS typically would house there is a much better store that is only 4 miles away. I won't include the store's name because this review isn't a hit piece to try and steal business, it's a warning to anyone thinking of doing business with these people. I will say the woman I dealt with upon first arriving was very kind and helpful but she is unfortunately only there for the morning shift and had she not have to leave halfway through our transaction I'm fairly certain everything would have gone completely smoothly. However, this was not the case and the *insert obscenity here* of an owner was extremely pushy, uninviting, and rude which made me never want to come back without having to be asked. I would recommend steering clear of this shop and letting it fall into the 50% of game stores that fail because with an owner like that this one certainly deserves it and it is only a matter of time. read more
