After my brother passed away from Leukemia, my sister-in-law went to Marcella for assistance with transferring the estate into her name. Didn't matter that she was carrying their one-year-old infant or that she just lost her husband, like many others (ref Yelp reviews), Marcella decided to charge my sister thousands of dollars for services Marcella isn't legally qualified to provide. Not only is she not qualified, but she provided the wrong service, and, in doing so, divulged sensitive information (my sister's, my mother's, and my home address) to other parties whom we specifically didn't want to have our home address for safety reasons. This was made very clear to her many times, but since she knew she was actively robbing people, she didn't care about the damage caused along the way. At some point, Marcella Goodwin disappeared with our money and documents. We've attempted to reach her for months. My sister has gone to her office multiple times, only to find it locked. She still possesses my sister's critically important original docs and their money. Marcella's business model is to overcharge for bogus services and then disappear for a while. If you have the unfortunate opportunity to utilize her services, know that you are giving your money to a thief and a liar. She has an F on the BBB. She has received cease and desist letters from the California Bar Association. I'm not entirely sure how she's not behind bars, but if you see her, be sure to let the police know. read more

You are required to pay up front for the trust services I did not feel confident after our one and only short 45 minute meeting, so I asked for my money back. It took a month of calling and mailing a letter, but I did finally get 2/3 of my prepaid money back without having to go file Small Claims Court. THANK YOU! They deducted several hours against the original check and it is padded in their favor to keep more money. I decided to just walk away with some of my money and not fight it out. If you need a standard revocable Trust, Legal Docs on Main may be the way to go for you. These people helped my sister steal everything that was in my father's trust. These people are awful and they don't even know how to fill out trust documents if you ask me. My father's name was written wrong in his trust, and so many inconsistencies that I realized if I didn't go and contest the trust then I would definitely get nothing. I don't know where my sister found this person but apparently they're in cahoots with each other because somebody that has knowledgeable background in law would not write a trust as these people did. If there was any way that I could bring down this company for helping my sister rip me and my other sister off then I would bring legal actions against them for their wrongdoing. After my husband passed away I realized our savings account was in his name and not in our trust. Capital One asked for a state document to put the account in my name. Marcella said she could take care of it for $1300 plus she said I needed a new trust for $1400. I put $2695 on my credit card. The next day I went in and asked for a refund on the trust since I didn't need a new one. The receptionist said she'd look into it she didn't know how to run a credit. Then a family member, a banker, said the form I needed is on line. He downloaded it and I filled it out, had it notorized $15 I promptly got my savings account in my name. I do not recommend this company. Pretty much everything "legal" that you would need to have drawn up needs to be written by an attorney. You do not need to pay these type of costs for documents that do not need to be legal binding by an attorney, those type of docs you can do it online for a lot less. initially met with Marcella in August to get my trust started, they insisted on the invoice being paid before the work was done. a huge red flag. played phone tag a few times and they missed a few zoom call appointments all while I was collecting my documentation for the trust. since then Ive been trying to call and email and sent them my documents for my trust via certified mail. no return calls or emails and the certified mail was just returned unclaimed. Biggest mistake hiring Marcella. We were on a time frame for court, we hired her a week before to file one sheet of paper. The day before court at 6:40pm she called me and said she doesn't have enough time to complete what we hired her for, that we didn't give her enough time and that she was going to terminate our contract. She only had to file one sheet of paper with the court that we filled out in her office 6 days prior to court. I had called every day to get office to confirm it was filed and never received a call, a text or an email. We live 2 hours away and had to wake up at 4 am the morning of court to go to her office to pick up our paperwork only to find out they shredded it!! She gave us a refund in the form of a check and when we went to the bank to cash it she had insufficient funds, we then had to go back to her office after going to court completely unprepared with nothing filed, to ask for our refund to be put back on our card. She then told us she didn't know how to do that and we had to wait for her to call to figure out how to do it. Unprofessional, rude, makes false promises to her clients and tried to turn it on us the whole time that we didn't give her enough time. 6 days to file a single sheet of paper and she didn't have enough time!! She screwed us with court and wasted so much of our time!! Would not recommend her services even if they were free!! I am forced to give her one star and she doesn't even deserve that! The business owner, Marcella G, LDA (Legal Document Assistant) DBA Legal Docs on Main is not an attorney, and states in her contract that if you think you need an attorney you should consult one, however, when she tells you that your situation requires a 2nd Trust, and you inform her that you now would like to seek the advice of counsel, she tells you don't need to. It was at this time that I terminated her service and requested a full refund (another stipulation of her contract that states she will refund 100% for any reason). In August of 2018 I hired her to create a Trust package for me. Within 3 days I realized several things I considered to be red flags...her voicemail was constantly full, her email address on her own business card was incorrect, and she had a completely different name on a Degree in her office. On day 9 when the above conversation occurred, and I terminated the contract, she stated in an email she would refund my fee of $449 immediately, but that I needed to go pick it up in cash in her office the next day?? How bizarre! I told her to send me a check, like all businesses do. She did not. Also in her contract it states that any and all disputes need to go through the American Arbitration Association. (A cost to the consumer of $200 to open the claim, and $1400 per day to the business to arbitrate). After 3 weeks of reminders, and not wanting to spend an additional $200, I first recruited the assistance of The Better Business Bureau (BBB Complaint ID# 13092703) to help me get my money back. After another 2 months here, and having the determination awarded in my favor, she again, in writing, promises to reimburse my fee, but does NOT. I am now forced to file a claim with AAA, pay the $200, and here is the best part! She NEVER submitted her mandated Consumer Arbitration Clause to the AAA, nor had she ever formally applied for their registry, which is what allows her to put that clause in her contract to begin with! By the end of my AAA claim, she was fined $3,050 for non-compliance and fee's, and was told that she must REMOVE that clause from her contract as the AAA would not administer this claim, or any future claims for her or her business!!! WOW!! Right?! What an irresponsible path! Completely flabbergasted, I take her to Small Claims Court. it's now March of 2019. When I was before the judge, the judge seemed surprised that she was allowed to legally provide this service without a law license, but when Marcella G. explained that it is merely a simple broiler-plate application that only takes 30 minutes to complete, I realized that what I had actually hired was a data entry person! And a dishonest one at that! She quoted me a 3 week turn time at the time of my appointment!! Of course, I won my case in Court, and again she said she would refund my money, and to my AMAZEMENT, SHE STILL DOES NOT! What kind of legal person working in the legal field does not abide by court orders?! After the 30 day "Appeal" period had passed, I began my pursuit to collect these funds. I sent her a request for funds through PayPal. She ignores it. I sent her the Court notice to provide her asset information to me. She ignores it. I then begin to research her public information, and public records under El Dorado County show A LOT of stuff I am not supposed to post here including a CURRENT EXPIRED BUSINESS BOND of $25K expired 2/17/19 as of April 5th,2019, AND the BBB shows a 2nd registered consumer complaint filed 07/02/18 for not refunding consumer fee's as promised! Recently she placed an ad in the Placerville Gold Panner (April 5th, 2019 Edition), claiming she is "ABA Approved".... THIS IS NOT VERIFIABLE! As of April 8th, 2019, (Per Robin in the ABA Service Center) she is not a member of the ABA, and they have no record of any certificates or membership for this person or business! Same goes for the National Association of Legal Assistants. An LDA, I have learned as cited by the NALA, is supposed to provide to the client their registration number, registration expiration date and county of registration, and provide clients with a "Notice to Consumer" prior to conducting business, which I was not given a copy of, and I don't believe she provided to me at all. In fact, if she had me sign these documents at the time of my appointment, why didn't she include them in the file she gave me with the contract? I really wish I would have done my research before hiring this person. Clearly, Marcella G. is many things, but an honest business person, and law abiding person she is NOT! It's too late for me...I've already given her ALL of my private financial documentation. I now have the stress of changing all of my bank accounts, and constantly checking on the Deed to my home! It's been almost a year now and still no refund! What A HACK! You better RUN, RUN, RUN the other way before this happens to you, too! read more

This woman took a large some of money from my elderly parents to draft a Living Trust, and not only didn't complete the work, but doesn't answer calls or emails, and when we went to the office, it appears closed down. She has defrauded my parents and has taken advantage of the elderly. This isn't the first time she has done this. Beware of Legal Docs On Main. She makes it really hard to return your money even if she promised you that she will return your money. Luckily after one year and three months I finally got my money through her bond but it took a lot of my time working on on. It started May 18, 2018 when we told her, we did not want to work with her any longer because of the numerous mistakes she had done on our Living trust. In the end we had an agreement to give us our partial refund back. We ask for our money back and she would ignore our letter. I went to BBB for help and that is when we found out that she will not return our money. I also seek help with the State of California Deparment of Justice and still did not want to return my money. I then took her to Small claims court and ask for the full amount of what we gave her. We got the judgement against her because she did not show up. After 30 days of Judgement, I receive a check of $50 and then a couple days after, I received another check of $50. First check went through fine but the second check bounced. I found out from my bank that she purposely cancelled the check. It seemed that she was making it difficult for me to get my money back purposely as she has always done in the beginning. I then put a claim on her Bond and after reviewing my claim, they have decided to give all my money back. During these process of getting my money back from Marcella, I found out that her bond and registration had expired and she was still continuing doing business. Her name on her business card and advertisement is different on her registration. She is not proving the registration # and expiration date on her adverticement.
