We just completed updating our family trust with the help of Ingrid Tung and her team at Sapphire Law Group. I came to an agreement with Sapphire Law Group to do my trust, and also move a property from my deceased dad's trust over into my trust. I did make it clear every time I mentioned that property, that it was currently under my dad's trust, not yet in my name. We came to an agreement, they wanted the money up front. The trust portion went well. The property in my dad's name did not. They decided that wasn't part of their deal and started telling me I needed to turn in a specific form to the county to change the deed. I told them I paid them for it, and they should be doing that, but they kept it up, and I was so overwhelmed with my dad's death, I just went ahead and did that. I came back to them to sign the trust, and gave them the deed form they wanted, and they immediately said I needed that property entirely in my name before they could move it to my trust. I complained again to them that I already paid extra for that, and they said no, it would be another $450 I think it was. Then later it was something like $7500 they wanted, as they'd have to take control of my dad's entire trust. I told them I don't need that, that work is almost done, and they need to take care of it. Months went by and Lisa emailed me and said maybe I should try this other law firm to get that work done. It is pretty wild for them to tell me I needed to pay another firm to do the work I already paid them for! I was still overwhelmed with my dad's estate, so I did that and got it done. I went back finally, many months later to get the final piece, having that property moved to our new trust. Lisa was doing that paperwork, and I told her I was going to give them a terrible review for the horrible way I'd been treated there. I didn't mention it, but I was planning on suing them and filing a complaint with the bar association. Lisa said yes, they had really messed up with me, and she was sorry about that, and she'd need another $150 to pay the filing fees with the county for this final paperwork. She even said it had nothing to do with that other property being under my dad's trust. I told her once again I had already paid for that, and she said well, if you give a good review, she can make it so I only have to pay $50 extra! This is beyond belief. I told her to expect my terrible review on how they treat their customers. Lisa had Heather call me, the lawyer who started Sapphire. Heather apologized, and offered, and did pay me back for the extra costs, although not the anything to cover all my time I spent trying to do the work I paid them to do. I told her what am I ever going to do if I need a change to this trust? I could never trust them to do anything in the future. She promised I could contact her directly and she'd take care of it. Heather went on to explain what a great company she'd started. I thought that took a lot of gall, for them to screw me over like they did, fail to follow the agreement and contract we had, take my money, and then stop doing the work, and call themselves great? Heather did try to make it right in the end, which did make it better. But it didn't go from awful to great. It was more like awful to pathetic. Hence my two star rating. I'm very sorry I choose Sapphire Law Group. read more

After searching and reading several articles for my legal needs and reviews of attorneys' firms and profiles, we decided to work with the Sapphire Law Group. I contacted Sapphire Law office and Meighan, the firm's Paralegal/Office Manager, responded promptly to our inquiry. Meighan was very organized in the process where she sent us documents and detailed instructions of what we needed to do to move forward. We filled out a sort of an intake form, which is an excellent form by the way, where we used to fill out all necessary information needed for our documents. Meighan also provided us with the firm's secured mail portal and online scheduler where we could conveniently log in to communicate & to book our initial consultation with the firm's attorney, Heather. Sapphire Law Group is located in a suite of a professional building in Folsom. The office was clean, organized, and of course very professional. It was nice to meet Meighan & Heather for the first time. They both made us feel welcome and at ease, yet still able to maintain their professionalism. This is what we like the most about Sapphire Law Group. We felt that we could talk easily with and ask Heather anything about the laws and our legal matter in particular without feeling intimidated or dumb. We have worked with a few attorneys before and it goes without saying, all attorneys are NOT equal.
