You know, the kind where you want to just keep the discovery to yourself so no one else can find out....well that describes Surfside Properties to a tee! When we discovered them in 2018, we were trying to escape those raw, biting, icy cold, gray drizzly, never-see-the-sun-for-weeks-on-end upper Midwest winters. We were than and continue to be pleasantly surprised when we found Surfside Properties. We have rented three different properties on Pensacola Beach from them and have never been disappointed. The spectrum of outstanding properties can easily suit any of our needs. The whole Surfside experience, from their intuitive content rich web site, to the concierge class help from Lori and Sam...we've never been disappointed! We have access to thoughtfully furnished immaculately clean first class properties across the best locations on the beach. We always eagerly look forward to our return allowing us to enjoy peaceful, sun filled warm walks along the pristine, uncrowded white sand of Pensacola Beach January through April in our Surfside Side Properties enabled rejuvenating escape!

And accordingly to them i was over reacting and states that i was aggressive. As a black women it is was so text book. Just to get me off thier back about my apartment .they told me they werent working on the apartment we agreed to. but a completely different apartment. and the apartment was also not complete. At this point i just had to shut up, because the next thing out of my mouth could land me who knows where. Homeless. I notified them and made them aware of the situation and that her doctors did not authorize her for travel upon her release from the hospital. Stephanie said, well, that's too bad, you should have gotten trip insurance because we cannot refund your payment or push your reservation to another time. SO, if you are considering EVER using this company, know that they will NOT give you a refund of 100%....it will be 50%, doesn't even matter if it is for a DEATH in your family. They just do not care why OR about you. So, do not book with this company unless, a.) you get trip insurance OR b.) you have so much money that you don't care that you lose thousands of dollars. Note: At no point during the booking process was travel insurance mentioned, offered, or recommended--something that could have made a significant difference in how this was handled. Only after I requested a change due to my daughter's hospitalization was insurance brought up, which felt reactionary rather than proactive.

They will label just about anything "normal wear and tear" because they don't want the hassle of going after the tenant's security deposit. As the landlord, with "deep pockets" and no choice but to fix the problems, it's far easier for them to drop it all in your lap. Beware, they talk a really good game, and you may be convinced. Don't. your property will slowly fall apart and you'll end up spending anything you made on repairs. But as long as they get their cut every month, they don't care.

Everything started off great. We met with the owner, Tom Barron, at our house while we were…read moredeciding what property managers to go with. He was polite and courteous and said all the right things. Our first tenant moved in quickly, but had to break their lease after 6 months. Barron's was handling getting new tenants in there again. My wife and I happened to stop by the house after being told it was ready for another set of tenants. The yard was in awful shape. The backyard had never been mowed and looked like a forest. We hired a yard crew to come in and fix it. Barron's never said anything about the yard being in bad shape. Our second set of tenants moved in and stayed for 1.5 years. This is when Barron's failed us. During the move out, we were informed by Barron's that the house would be returned to us in as good a condition as when we turned it over to them. When we were finally given the keys, we were told by Barron's to find anything we thought was in need of repair and to get back to them. Uh, what? Isn't that part of the check out process? I paid Barron's to manage my property, not task me with finding issues after we took control of the property. Anyway, we were told by a Barron's employee that the house was good to go. Upon entering the house for the first time, we found the house was a mess. The carpets had been cleaned, but the rest of the house was in terrible shape. Worst part, the whole house reeked of cigarette smoke. We had to hire a professional yard crew and professional house keepers to get the property back to where it was. We also had to pull out carpet to be replaced because the previous tenant's pets destroyed it and it was holding cigarette smell. It has been a month and we are still trying to get the odor out. We have spent over $2000 to fix our house after entrusting it to Barron's Property Management. On the plus side, the employees were always available to me when I called and were pleasant to talk to.

Having had properties in the past I've had issues with a number of things when it comes to the communication between the renter and homeowner. As a renter in this case, they answered every single call and request to a point where I'm confident that they'll handle all of my properties going forward.
