Have you ever heard of a bank that wouldn't take your deposits? Limits on deposits? Well buckle up…read morekiddos and let me introduce... ETPCU. Voted "Bank of the Future"... in 1923. Fast forward 100 years later, from February 2023 to July 2023 I had "NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS" making Mobile Deposits of my paychecks. I was "crystal clear" when I opened that account that I MUST deposit my checks with a mobile app... I work out of town, checks are written on payday and I cannot be running up and back during business hours to make deposits and withdrawals. Direct deposits would take a couple days longer. "No problem. No problem at all Mr A.", they told me when I opened the account. It was easy to believe at the time, after all they did had an awesome mobile app. (Remember I said that.) Well, as it turned out, I had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS that required me to take off work and drive all the way up to Tyler to fix. Repeated lip service and not following through with the promises of raising my Mobile Deposit LIMIT (LITERALLY BY A COUPLE OF BUCKS) and a discovered, previously unmentioned "MONTHLY DEPOSIT LIMIT" on a month with three paychecks in it was about all I could take, I'm a very patient person. Well one final failure after that and instead of again driving to Tyler, I drove the other direction. Went down to Rusk and opened a new account with "Cherokee County Federal Credit Union"... Where I have had ZERO PROBLEMS making deposits... Zip, Zero, Zilch, Nada. They have mobile deposit limits too but they're way more generous (or far less paranoid schizophrenic) and it was explained to me that my checks are written on a local East Texas Bank from my employers "well established" bank account. My employer also has a flawless credit rating. There never ever should have been a problem at ETPCU. No, CCFCU treats me like ETPCU "should have" and very well "could have"... all along. Remember when I said (see above) they have a great mobile app? It is awesome. However it's the credit union that proved entirely dysfunctional to me... Sure it could be said that I'm just not the right sort of customer to bank there. They're good for walking into the lobby during typical business hours as if it were the early 1900's. But for a working fella like me who works out of town... Forget it. This bank has proven to me to be a dump of the highest order. I regret listening to ALL the empty promises and unresolved PROBLEMS. Glad it's over.

If I could give zero stars for the Tyler branch I would. I was recently between jobs and had…read morewithdrawn my 401k from the previous. The check was less than 3k. When I entered I was rushingly greater. Upon asking to cash my check the teller , Hannah Nelson, went directly to her manager , Catherine Eaton, instead of opening my account and attempting to cash like previous tellers have done. I was then told there would be a 6 day business hold for out of state check of that amount. I expected the hold but I was denied any amount of the check. Other branches have atleast let me have portion of the money to get by. I explained this to the teller and she said that is the protocol she had to follow. They had also just cashed a check of this amount under a month ago so I was a little confused. I was told my funds don't match and what if I over draft. I replied that's the point of my trying to cash it or get partial, it takes money to stay out of the red and that's hard to do when you're waiting to start a new job. To add insult to injury there was a man there with a similar hold circumstances, he was white like the manager, and they allowed him some money. I felt racially profiled since I walked In that bank and I have been a member for over 15years. I will never return to that biased branch and makes me wonder about the integrity and values of ETPCU as a whole.
