I recently had over twice one month's rent in my bank account, got a payment confirmation and everything. My initial meet with this man at the house, I gave him my price for just the interior clean for $300 and would have it complete in 24 hours. However, when me and my husband met with him he also added in he wanted stairs built for the back door on the property as well as exterior window cleaning and front porch vinyl siding cleaning, which Mike raised the overall clean to $600(verbally). Needless to say,my husband works and builds fence. I started the house around 1130AM and left to get my husband to start on the exterior clean around 2PM that same day. I also had to pick up my son from school so we arrived back at the house around 430-5PM. I was able to get the entire back of the house complete with only the kitchen and living room left to finish. My husband got all exterior windows clean and had started on the front porch vinyl clean. We left around 715PM and I contacted Mike and promised to be back by 845AM the next morning. When me and my husband arrived the next day, Mike has done ripped off the door knob and door lock for the front door and threatened local law enforcement on us for trespassing and we left. He did write a check for $150, taped to my broom stick, left my cleaning supplies at the pumps at Brookshire's Fresh on Old Jacksonville Hwy with Mike no where around at the time he asked me to arrive. I want people to be aware that this man is very unprofessional. I'm not sure where or how things had gone wrong as I kept constant communication with him the entire time. But here is our conversation and the interior clean I was able to complete that day. I would advise not to do business with this man, he seems to be very arrogant and out for himself. I would definitely advise against renting from this man or doing business with him as he does not uphold his promises and his very wishy washy with business.

My experience with him occurred one week after I moved to Tyler. While I was back in Austin bringing another load of household items, he took it upon himself to have his handyman begin chopping two feet off of my backyard Stone Fence. I drove in and caught the man doing it and motioned for him to stop. He spoke no english, so I had to give him hand signals in order for him to understand. He left, but about two hours later, I heard the chopping again and had to go out and make him get off the fence again. Evidently Mr. Powell had ordered him to continue anyway.I went over to Powell Properties office around the corner to find out who had given the order to do that to my fence. After a few days, I spoke with Mr. Powell and he proceeded to ask for money from me to finish off capping the top part that they had left jagged and ugly. I thought about it a while and eventually decided that it was his responsibility to cap it off, since he had not even asked my permission to begin with. I called and told him I'd like him to cap it off and he said that I would have to chip in some money because he had already spent $200. chopping it down and told me that a "decent" property owner would understand that the cost should be split. I told him that a "decent" property owner wouldn't make the decision to chop someone else's fence up without prior agreement that there was a need and prior agreement to split the costs. It seems Mr. Powell doesn't care much about his neighbors and has gotten away with throwing his weight around a bit too easily and quite certain of getting his way. He really is a man without character and out for himself only. In the past year,I have referred two different workers to him, who did work for him and left unsatisfied with the money he was willing to pay them for their labors, as well as the way they were treated by this man. My advice is to rent or purchase with him with your legal advisor because it seems he is the only one who wins in his world.

Our units were modified illegally with substandard wiring and plumbing that was not inspected by city inspector. behind the building the leaves, garbage, and old carpet were left there creating a roach problem and they were coming into two of the units. The fire alarms was disabled by management. There is only on poor light on parking making it unsafe at night. The office staff and manager are disorganized and the woman in the front office is unhelpful. In our opinion this company should be avoided at all costs.
