This is long -but it is that special. Please help me spread the word…read more This place is so understated and deceiving -in a good way! It looks like a meat packing house from the out-side. But when you step in, it's a homage to the art of meat preparation. The owner Steve is a gem. You can tell this is not only a quality business but also a passion project that he has continued from his father. My daughter is a recent Purdue graduate from '25 class. We are not local, but from NJ. She found this place as part of a local walk and stopped by to pick up a gift certificate to give as a thank you gift.. She noticed they do catering- and thank goodness!. We rented an Airbnb for her graduation so family can stay with us and had planned to have a caterer. But the caterer I booked 4 months prior to graduation cancelled on me one week prior to the event! I was left high and dry. My daughter remembered that Beutlers caters! Steve literally saved us when all others could not or would not. He was not only empathetic to our situation, but he made sure we had an amazing feast and thought of everything to ensure we had the celebration we envisioned. The food was so incredibly good. My family was raving about it all weekend long. Truly THE best pulled Pork and Beef brisket we've ever had. And for a family that doesn't even like beans, they couldn't stop eating it! So good, it should be illegal. We had leftovers for days. Best of all, Steve told me he prepped all the food himself. His TLC was evident. He made sure we had everything needed, even lovely serving baskets and lighters for sternos! My only regret is that my daughter graduated, and I have no known future opportunities to call on Steve again to work his magic. I hope this review gains traction. I'm on a mission to ensure that word gets out about this rare gem of a place and the incredible owner behind it all, Steve Beutler. Heartfelt thank you Steve.

With this we ended up at Smith Family Farms Market on Saturday and purchased 3 beef filets for grilling on Father's Day. The service was great and the people were very friendly and helpful. BUT, the best part was the steaks. These were by far the best steaks we had grilled in a long while. They melted in your mouth they were so tender. I braised them over high heat for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes on each side. Then grilled them for 8 minutes on each side. They were very thick and turned out beautiful with slight pink center (temperature was about 150° - 155°). As said they were so tender.. We've found a new go to. Our thanks to the people at Smiths for making our Father's Day meal special!!!

This review is for Either Friday or Saturday Oct 8/9, 2021…read more I will say we tried them because they had 5 stars, but sadly only 19 people have reviewed the place, so either they have had more who do not use yelp or others do not leave reviews, which may have made up a difference, for as long they have been in business. I usually like to look thins up before trying local business, especially family owned one's out. I am giving two dates because right now I do not recall which date my partner went in to give these folks a try. Since moving down here we have been looking for a new butcher to shop at as our business was with another local butcher where we lived, so we were could frequent the butcher over store products as 9 times out of 10 butches product is fresher and better depending where you go. So like stated we wanted to give this location a try for the first time. Due to my current health situation with esrd, we tend to not go My partnered had picked up some jerky, a pork shoulder, and Italian sausages. So overall the jerky was ok, and everyone makes their jerky different, but I personally did not care for it, in cased asked why, it was too tough than what I am use to from others. The Italian Sausages, I will say I loved, and will definitely get more if and when we stop in again. Now the reason for 3 stars, I based on both the Pork shoulder and how customer service was handled. I would have given an extra star, but issue was not handled appropriately. I understand this is family ran, I understand how a business is to be ran as I had one for several years, I have as well watched a butcher work their business up north where I am from. The way this location handled issues when my partner called in is not customer service like. I am unsure if regulars get better care than new customers is all I am going to say there. My partner phoned in and the following happen: "She informed about the pork shoulder, was told "we have never had that kind of issue here" Rather than I am sorry and own up to the issue as if we were making something up, we got that and a store credit. So the way the pork shoulder was packaged was as follows: Saran wrap like plastic, and then wrapped in the white like paper. When unwrapping it on Sat or Sunday as it was never frozen, it was suppose to be fresh, I asked what the foul smell was, it was the pork shoulder. I am unsure if the meat was just going bad and this is why this was pushed over the tenderloin we wanted or what the issue was. To owners and staff, we may give you a try again in the near future, and then I will update this review, but until then this is my honest review of our experience of our first time with you guys. I wish it had gone better.

Their hours are limited (only opened Thursday - Saturday). Morgan was clerking when I stopped by today and described where the meats are sourced. All the meats come from This Old Farm north of Lebanon except for the chicken which comes from an Amish farm on the border of Indiana and Ohio. The meat arrives fresh and the final processing happens at the shop. In the shop, they carry most cuts of beef, pork, lamb and chicken. They are known for their specialty sausages which come with natural casings. Meats can be purchased fresh or frozen. They also offer special bulk packages (for freezing.) they also carry a limited amount of locally sourced sauces and rubs in the shop. Prices are really reasonable for freshly sourced products. I stocked up! Morgan said that they have a rewards program that you can sign-up for and gives you future discounts based on purchases.

It had been some time since I finished off the last of the ground beef. I buried my last roast in my freezer under other frozen items and forgot about it. A week ago I had to purge much of the foods in my freezer and rediscovered the roast. So I decided I should cook it. When I opened the wrap containing my roast, I was delightfully surprised! Not only was it not showing any signs of discoloration, rotting smell or freezer burn, it was blood red as if I had just purchased it. I cooked it low and slow in my oven and after five hours I added the vegetable. It was amazing and delicious. It was just a 2 pounds of chuck roast. I ate it 4 days in a row finishing it off. Honestly, I wished there was more. The purpose of my share is; not only are the butchers friendly, swift and kind. The meat, every bit was absolutely pure, no processing, no Mc Donald type slurry added, no fillers, just REAL, GOOD, QUALITY MEAT. Worth every penny. It's easy to see why the comments and ratings, before mine are mostly five stars (you can literally see the 5 stars busting at the seams) and raving about the service, the quality and freshness. Just like meat was as I was growing up and the way all meat should be. If you're new, or reviewing Banters before shopping them. I highly recommend their shop. Go in and buy one item and see for yourself. You'll be glad you did. We all deserve meat that is healthy, delicious and nutritious, like what we grew up eating. So... "what are you waiting for"? One more thing; they accept SNAP. Bon Appetite!
