It felt more focused on billing insurance and moving patients through the system than providing real care or support. Important questions went unanswered, updates were minimal, and concerns were brushed aside. Do your research carefully before choosing this place -- and if you have other options, I would strongly suggest making this facility your last choice, not your first. Also note it is a sister facility to Genesis House so they indiscriminately will move patients between Lake Worth campus and Boca/ Pompano Beach campus.

Facility was left unlocked to test patients and see if they'd escape, but some did and got into some situations on the streets because it's a bunch of fast food places and stuff. They'd still get into trouble for trying to escape even if they went batshit crazy We got in trouble for things simple as not eating just because we were upset and had to write real long essays. Staff were alright, some were kind of assholes though and one of the therapists had a DUI charge if you look at the Reddit post someone made about this place. HIPPA laws were violated not gonna lie, for some reason whenever someone went a level down in residential they had other kids vote. Why's this an issue? Because I knew my shit five days in and they were jealous because they don't handle their problems on their own. One of my friends was forced to share their r*pe story to I don't know, maybe around 40 kids in the room?? They didn't want to which their privacy shouldn't be violated like that in the first place and they broke down crying. The computer lab smelled like cigarettes and we weren't allowed to contact our parents if we got in trouble. Apparently it was only once a week under supervision so my dad even made a code sentence to say if I needed help because we had a bad feeling about this place. Now, I only stayed for six days because I emailed my teacher through the school site to contact my mom and tell her I needed help. Got banned from the computers that day but I have no regrets because if I hadn't done that I don't know the shit I could've endured. I had six bakeracts before that and witnessed some pretty wild situations at a young age because I was under a prescription cascade by my old doctor and had side effects so I'd hurt myself. Never had ill intentions towards anyone and hated altercations especially because I'm bad at social interaction. But this place? There were fights often, kids kissing each other and talking about how many people they've fucked, if your roommate was pissed at you you weren't allowed to sleep on the floor outside your room but if you cut yourself then you had to so I kinda did that- Not a proud moment but I didn't wanna piss him off more because I felt bad for calling his music taste ass Anyways, you were also cooked if you didn't have friends because of the weird voting system Dr. Moron GolfBallHeadWithGlasses made up. Mornings were weird af, the guy went "Good morning everyone " and we had to say in unison "Good morning Doctor Moran!" Like it was some sorta kids show and then the next minute it's forcing people to share their deepest traumas even if they don't wanna Outside time sucked, they made us give them our shoes which by the way I never got my shoes back from that place, those were some pretty good Nikes Dosages were tampered with though and parents weren't told. Also a lot of the reviews I saw on here about a year ago were deleted so I know they're trying to silence us. Well guess what? Not gonna let that happen! Water tasted like metal, fridge was broken and the milk had ice chunks in it, food tasted nasty, and they didn't really care for people's needs. And the strip searches are weird but I don't really blame them for that, staff probably didn't want to do that either Also even if you're not a drug addict, if you don't attend an AA meeting you'll get in trouble for not listening about the dangers of doing drugs even if you know not to anyways Also for the past year or so the location keeps saying "closed", "permanently closed", "open", "temporarily closed" ??????? Pick a side!‍ Might be good for kids who are recovering from addictions but even then it's just a really bizarre place, wouldn't recommend it but you do you if you want.

The most recent occurrence- i called the office 2 weeks ago and said that I would need a refill. I specifically asked if i needed blood work or an appointment or can i just get the refill. I was told that the doctor would call in the refill. He never did. I'm now out of medication and when i called today about this, they want me to pay $250 for him to call in a refill. I would gladly have paid that for an appointment had they told me this 2 weeks ago when i asked. I'm not going to pay for an office visit when I'm not having one. The worst part of this is that they never told me this prior to me calling to see why the delay in getting the prescription. I'm sorry, but the customer service is the worst. It's a shame because They are knowledgeable about alternative health, but I just can't use their office anymore.

She is so supportive, kind, nonjudgemental. She taught me valuable skills I will use for the rest of my life. She always went above and beyond to find creative strategies of how to help me because I can be difficult and uncooperative at times. She got me out of rock bottom and I'm so forever grateful. I would also like to give a special thanks to Freeman. Freeman made a HUGE impact on my 8 month stay at Lifeskills. Numerous times I would come back from a therapy session and feel overwhelmed with emotions and Freeman helped me process them. Every time Freeman saw me struggling he would talk to me, make jokes. He really made me feel supported and safe. He got me to laugh on days when that was the last thing I thought I could do. He has a lot of life advice that really changed my perspective. I hope I can be half as wise and compassionate as he is one day. All the staff at Lifeskills are great but these two individuals really truly changed my life in countless ways. Lifeskills has a really special thing set up for when it is time for a client to leave the program. You have a "goodbye" group. You are surrounded by a room full of other clients/friends, your primary therapist, and the tech team all of whom have been with you for months. This was probably the most bittersweet moment in my life. During my goodbye group I felt so many emotions, I was excited to go home and continue my life but also insanely sad because I would miss the place and people who have supported me and changed my life. I hope Lifeskills always keeps the Goodbye Group because frequently I think about how supported and proud I felt when I had mine. It was really really special. I recently had a terrible experience with this company. I scheduled my first appointment with the…read moreoffice on a Friday for a 3pm Monday appointment with one of their therapists. On Monday at 2:15pm I asked if I was going to receive a virtual link for my appointment at 3. They said that the therapist would email me the link 30 minutes prior to the meeting. So I waited... and waited... and waited. At 3:22 the therapist finally messaged me telling me that the company never informed them of our appointment and we'd have to reschedule. I was confused and told the therapist that the company told me that she as the therapist was supposed to contact me before the meeting. Then I get a call from the company. A woman informed me that my therapist had a medical emergency and was unable to attend my appointment. To which I said, that doesn't make any sense, the therapist just told me that you as the company never looped her in that she had an appointment with me. The woman on the phone said nooo that's not correct, let's just make a new appointment, what day are you available. Immediately, I did not feel respected and this back and fourth was extremely unprofessional. I informed the woman that this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will be looking for services elsewhere. Then the woman said okay and hung up. The therapist then texted me that the company didn't put my appointment on the correct date on her schedule. Which makes no sense to me. Why contact me about our appointment on a day that my appointment isn't apparently scheduled for??? Someone or multiple people were lying, I'm unsure. Please save your time and do not go here. They need to improve their custom service greatly.

From the Therapists, to the Nurses and Pysch, they take a heartfelt interest in their clients wellbeing. As for the rest of the staff, there is a lot left to be desired. Aside from a few shining stars the majority of the administrative and tech staff behave as if they don't want to be there and its just a paycheck to them, to outright treating the Clients like inmates, cussing at them, threating them ("if you don't like it, pack your shit and get out") ignoring them by not following up on requests and grievances to total and utter disrespect. I've heard it said "you don't pay for this your insurance company does". I for one take great exception to that as I worked for over 45 years and paid into the system to be able to take advantage of programs I paid for (How dare they say that). Also, when asking a question I was often told "that's not my department or its above my pay grade)??? I would then asked to whom do I need to speak with to get my answer, their response was mostly "I don't know" How do you work somewhere that you don't know? The buck gets passed so much you can't recognize the bill any longer. Which brings me to ownership, The Husband and wife team of Mr. and Mrs. Gedale Fenster, a self proclaimed, "successful podcaster" and "motivational speaker" expounding his wisdom as if he were the next Ghandi, throwing out concepts that have been around for hundreds If not thousands of years. I for one found the man to be boastful, arrogant and disingenuous. They don't have any compassion or empathy for their clients, their entrepreneurial opportunity in this business is their primary reason for entering into this field. Complaints of living conditions go unaddressed, from inoperable washers and dryers to basic maintenance items. They hire drug addicts, exconvicts and alcoholics whom have little to no management experience, other than they were clients, in a field where that should be a priority. They allow clients to "Audition" for jobs instead of going to group to work on themselves or maybe its their way of getting cheap labor. They think by putting "Lipstick on a pig", by purchasing new furniture and putting a fresh coat of paint on it will solve a lot of the issues, think again. Just last weekend one of the units on the second floor of the IOP residence water lines broke and flooded that unit. When the client staying in that unit offered to go buy the necessary parts to fix it and have one of the clients whom are auditioning for a job, fix it the client was told no because the director of facilities said "I'm not going to allow a client to fix a repair, it will be taken care of Monday, and to have the Clients living in that unit put a bucket under it and dump the bucket when it was full, well you can imagine what happened, the downstairs unit got flooded and did a lot more damage than was necessary, if the director would have just let the Clients fix it. That's what you get when you hire incompetentence to run your facilities. Then there's the human care aspect of this, or the lack thereof. They treat clients as insurance payments. I was directly affected by this. I was told this past week that unbeknownst to me I was automatically enrolled in Medicare as I turn 65 on November 11th and Medicare trumps my current insurance "Florida Blue" and was unceremoniously discharged, with no resolution from Evolutions other than "No Dice" you have till Thursday latest Friday to pack up and get out. An unconscionable way to run a Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment center. Also, when I was leaving yesterday, I had to leave my bags there for a period until I got settled into a hotel, when I retrieved my bags one of the bags was missing that had all my toiletries and medication in it, after I informed a tech he went room to room looking for it, then my bag suddenly appeared, however, when I got to my destination and opened the bag one of my medications , and some of my toiletries were missing. After calling back to the IOP residence and informing them that some of my things were missing, they did nothing about it. They market themselves as "South Florida's Premier Treatment Center", it's nowhere near that, it's a run of the mill treatment center. I would like to caution anyone, if you are contemplating Mental Health or Substance Abuse Treatment, to do your due diligence and find a more suitable Treatment Center. I would not even rate this with a star, that would be saying they have a glimmer of hope. They also have a sober living facility in Fort Lauderdale where they let former male and female clients live together in the same apartment as couples all the while discouraging coupling, and whom also happen to work for Evolutions in supposedly high ranking decision making positions. Ownership holds no one accountable. What do you expect.

Lastly when I left after 24 hours they held my valuables hostage, phone, wallet, electronics etc. I had to come back a few days later to retrieve it. Mind you if I was a young girl in Miami Gardens walking around with no way to call for help what an awful situation to put someone in, and don't forget about the rash and bed bug bites all over my body. 0/5 wouldn't Recomended if it was the last rehab on earth.
