While its fresh in my mind, I'm giving my honest assessment of literally the most fraudulent, condescending, imprisoning drug and alcohol treatment center of all time.... First and foremost, to anyone struggling with alcohol or drug addiction, I sympathize with all my heart and wish each and every one of you the best....but these people do NOT care about your well being, your 'recovery' or what happens to you after leaving this garbage program What they do care about is PROFIT....RECO is a revolving door of 'clients' who have adequate insurance coverage....make no mistake....your 'recovery' is an afterthought The 'clinical director' David Levin is a pseudo intellectual, pompous, narcissistic clown. I also shared a review that was deleted and I won't be silent about it. Many reviews I saw a year ago were also deleted so don't let it fool you Went here when I was 13 years old and they took our clothes and made us wear pink scrubs and earn our clothes. Facility was left unlocked to test patients and see if they'd escape, but some did and got into some situations on the streets because it's a bunch of fast food places and stuff. They'd still get into trouble for trying to escape even if they went batshit crazy We got in trouble for things simple as not eating just because we were upset and had to write real long essays. Staff were alright, some were kind of assholes though and one of the therapists had a DUI charge if you look at the Reddit post someone made about this place. HIPPA laws were violated not gonna lie, for some reason whenever someone went a level down in residential they had other kids vote. Why's this an issue? Because I knew my shit five days in and they were jealous because they don't handle their problems on their own. One of my friends was forced to share their r*pe story to I don't know, maybe around 40 kids in the room?? They didn't want to which their privacy shouldn't be violated like that in the first place and they broke down crying. The computer lab smelled like cigarettes and we weren't allowed to contact our parents if we got in trouble. Apparently it was only once a week under supervision so my dad even made a code sentence to say if I needed help because we had a bad feeling about this place. Now, I only stayed for six days because I emailed my teacher through the school site to contact my mom and tell her I needed help. Got banned from the computers that day but I have no regrets because if I hadn't done that I don't know the shit I could've endured. I had six bakeracts before that and witnessed some pretty wild situations at a young age because I was under a prescription cascade by my old doctor and had side effects so I'd hurt myself. Never had ill intentions towards anyone and hated altercations especially because I'm bad at social interaction. But this place? There were fights often, kids kissing each other and talking about how many people they've fucked, if your roommate was pissed at you you weren't allowed to sleep on the floor outside your room but if you cut yourself then you had to so I kinda did that- Not a proud moment but I didn't wanna piss him off more because I felt bad for calling his music taste ass Anyways, you were also cooked if you didn't have friends because of the weird voting system Dr. Moron GolfBallHeadWithGlasses made up. Mornings were weird af, the guy went "Good morning everyone " and we had to say in unison "Good morning Doctor Moran!" Like it was some sorta kids show and then the next minute it's forcing people to share their deepest traumas even if they don't wanna Outside time sucked, they made us give them our shoes which by the way I never got my shoes back from that place, those were some pretty good Nikes Dosages were tampered with though and parents weren't told. Also a lot of the reviews I saw on here about a year ago were deleted so I know they're trying to silence us. Well guess what? Not gonna let that happen! Water tasted like metal, fridge was broken and the milk had ice chunks in it, food tasted nasty, and they didn't really care for people's needs. And the strip searches are weird but I don't really blame them for that, staff probably didn't want to do that either Also even if you're not a drug addict, if you don't attend an AA meeting you'll get in trouble for not listening about the dangers of doing drugs even if you know not to anyways Also for the past year or so the location keeps saying "closed", "permanently closed", "open", "temporarily closed" ??????? Pick a side!‍ Might be good for kids who are recovering from addictions but even then it's just a really bizarre place, wouldn't recommend it but you do you if you want. read more

Awful place. Some decent staff? But the rest act like you are bothering them. Its all baker acted from delray medical so just a way to try and make $. Beds are plastic covedered single foam mattresses? Pillow are wafrer thin need 3 to make a decent one. And good luck getting extra pillows. Took me and my roommate 2 days to get extras. They cant be bothered to help. Yeah they have tp deal with some tough people but so fo the patients. I had nothing to do I tv in the whole place. Besides that nothing to do but go out in a back yard with a hoop a couple of balls and some silly games for an hour a day. And sometimes they won't let you back in until time is up. Which sucks if you have to go to the bathroom. Awful place. And then they bill you almost $1000 a day and expect you to pay. Big scam and horrible place. Delray hospital lost my clothes twice now. They lie and they suck. Also I had diarrhea from the nasty fake food they had. Powered eggs and mashed potatoes fake everything. Nothing real. Nasty food . And the hospital had the same garbage food. It was not good coz.i get diarrhea from milk products and i didn't know they were in things. Just awful food. Been much better since I've bee home. Nasty place. But no one chooses to go there they all complain. Some might deserver but there is no therapy. Its meds blood free. 2 minutes with your physicians asst and sleep. Nothing else to do. I was home when picked up. I did not try to to kill myself and could have taken the .same.medsa at home. Instead they want 7k for not wanting to be there I waa off bakes act for 4 days before they let me go. I didn't try to kill myself. I jist drank a little more than I should have and had to pay 7k fpr that plus 7k for hospital. I dont have that. read more

My experience with Saint-TMS was I all had hoped for and more! I could feel my depression lifting during the fourth day of treatment in Florida and I continue to do well roughly six weeks after the treatment ended. The staff are excellent and are sensitive to your personal needs and situations. I recommend the Center most highly to anyone suffering from severe depression and who has the time and resources to utilize this potential life-changing tool. read more

The review I shared was deleted. The real story is I went to Wellness after completing a great program elsewhere. Linda Newman who was supposedly a licensed therapist at night IOP 4 nights a week. She became all of our friends. Unprofessional, personal, allowed old clients using meth to attend , we weren't drug tested. But I loved linda for some reason. She manipulated us ALL WITH HER MOTHERLY CHARM. So much so, she approached myself and another client AT ALUMNI AT WELLNESS ON PROPERTY ON CAMERA to counsel us privately ( patient broker) 100/week at Starbucks, right out of night IOP, I thought I won the lottery she CHOSE me. I was to tell no one. She lied to Kim, Dion. CHRIS , everyone. For months! When I fired her she violated my HIPPAA to the other client, I confronted Wellness they took accountability and said they fired Linda and gave ne some bullshit about oil wonderful I am.. that I was discharged. No no no. This is your therapist. It happened on your grounds. You never sent me any paperwork or follow up and all conversations and transactions were recorded. This is my FUCKING LIFE IM FIGHTING FOF. A FULL YEAR OF SOBRIETY. you are definitely going to remember me and im not going away. How dare you allow or even think this is ok? We come to wellness to get better !!! THERE ARE OVER 133 LOCATIONS IN WHAT 33 STATES? HOW MANY JAIMEES HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS???? Brief outpatient php stint here. Went for help with drinking. Mostly young directionless kids hooked on fetty and such. They would walk in and out of groups (classes) or storm out in a fit of fury because of some perceived slight or "trigger." One of the groups was run by a Russian woman who would discuss how good her husband is, and how much she loves him and their child. Turns out, I was bored and downloaded a "freak app" (strictly casual hook up app) and found that group facilitator's profile with her taking mirror selfies with "duck face." NO LIE. Also was called by my counselor frantically after I left for the day straight up accusing me of "pissing hot for cocaine." I said absolutely not and that I would return and get retested, which I did and never heard anything about this again. My counselor (she is a fellow Jew with tattoos across her chest in Hebrew) found my stories of physical abuse and having a gun fired through my wall by an intimate partner amusing. The patients seemed to be wound up and overtly horny because hook ups are a "no no." Needless to say, the group facilitator exposed on the freak hook up app was the last straw and I left. I ended up going to another facility in Delray and had a better experience, although some of those staff members were quite suspect. read more

I am reading the reviews and have a son at wellness. We've been through other rehabs and when looking for yet another we took the recommendation from Sunrise detox, a detox we've known since this all began years ago and this was a long relapse. We've been to the best " Hazeldens" and to others in this area that we didn't know enough to know if they were good or bad.....in the end it comes down to the individual...do they want to be sober...I read the reviews, some say the staff is supportive, some say you can't swim enough, use the phone enough...it's not a vacation...maybe tough love is required? Have you ever seen how disgusting it can get when your "child" isn't bathing, maybe urinating in a pan by their bed and you step in it? Your child of upper middle class? A few roaches? Yes, that's yuck and Florida is Florida and I hope it is a clean place; but, I speak to the counselors and my son, hear recommendations from many professionals who have "seen it all"....I think I have "almost" seen it all....YOU do not want a vacation, you want real change and if it is uncomfortable and causes struggle? OK. I'll let you know after I go down and see if there's any progress....oh, my son, he had made it through college, had a career, from the rehabs before now he says...I am now doing this for me, no one else....THAT's what you want and if they can help get your child there go with them. we went to Bethesda West on the Saturday after Thanksgiving... 2023. Sadly, in this day and age, you can't seem to get medical care. Anyway, I took my husband there after he had a broken arm diagnosed on Tuesday before Thanksgiving at Boca regional Hospital. He was put in a splint there like sausages, and he was in terrible pain. Of course calling the doctors office on Friday morning nobody was open so we went to Bethesda West on Saturday morning and got incredibly good care for an incredibly kind staff and they did a really beautiful job of re-wrapping his broken arm. as a nurse practitioner, I know the difference between good medical care and inadequate medical care. First the good, then the bad. Good- The people and the community. A majority of the staff, clinicians, and therapists are great. The "clients" or patients were all very accepting as well. I may have been there at a lucky time, but most of the time people were wonderful. I was quite nervous when I arrived, but left feeling like I had made a family. I plan on keeping touch with many of them for a very long time. They are my base. The apartments were great, clean and the pool (although rules made it rarely able to use) was nice. I felt very safe in the center, the apartments as well as the transport between them. Clean, safe and well done. The alternative therapies are a great option. I truly enjoyed equine therapy, art therapy, yoga and meditation. In PHP a client is quite busy, which is good (But a half day off after a full week would be nice) Most importantly, I grew a lot while at WRC, and hope to take what I have and move forward now that I am home. BUT, I had to advocate for myself, which is important for anyone attending. Fight for yourself and your fellow clients or you will not be heard. Now, the bad: I was sold a bill of goods that this was a non-theological and not biblically based center. This was a complete and utter lie. (The first person I met was the one who told me this lie, who had at least three "Jesus loves you" bracelets on as he shook my hand) Bible quotes were plastered in my kitchen, my bedroom, and even my closet (seriously). Bible quotes on the walls of the center, all meetings started with affirmations to God, Jesus, etc. (with the excuse of, "well AA says you can say higher power instead"). Sure, Jan. The 12 step poster on the wall over my head says "god" 8 times and "Higher power" zero times. I understand that AA/NA is a front for christian indoctrination of people at their weakest moment in life, and pretty much ALL clinics use them, **** but **** was told there was an even balance between AA/NA (1930s antiquated therapies) and more recent therapies like Dharma recovery and SMART recovery (science based) at WRC, ones that don't need you to be subservient to God (and to not get smoted) to find recovery. You are actually forced to attend weekly AA meetings at a local church. You are supposed to attend multiple "Big Book" meetings as well. EVERY morning you read from AA/NA books and are told that if you don't follow the 12 steps (and accept god), you will die from your addiction (Wheeeeee!). You are also required (In PHP) to attend weekly "H & I" meetings, where at the end, if you don't join the prayer circle and say the "lords' prayer" at the end, you will get glares from the facilitators (OK, the glare happened once, so I left before the bible circle started at later meetings, which went over like a fart in church). Pun intended. This is where I had to advocate for myself and other fellow clients. You still are forced to go to the church, but you can now sit outside as long as you are studying another modern/actually scientific rehab therapy. (Ignore the Florida mosquitos). But you don't get any fancy chips. Food- You are expected to prepare all your meals in the apartment yourself. Which is fine, the apartments have better kitchens than most houses I've lived in. BUT, you get $75 a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, Mike and Ike's, food storage, beverages, sodas, milk, toiletries such as shampoo, soap, laundry detergent, feminine hygiene products, paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, dish washing pods/detergent etc. Pretty much anything other than windex and floor cleaner. The $75 a week has been what they have been handing out for many, many years. Apparently God doesn't believe in inflation (WalMart neighborhood market sure as hell does). I was fortunate to share an apartment with 4 other adults, who were able to pool money and had been to a grocery store in their lifetime. Some of the kids had no idea (not their fault) and would do things like microwave rice without water (this happened) and buy crap and be starving at the end of the week. Lack of coordination : Now, I can forgive a lot of this as it is impossible to staff any business these days, but there were NUMEROUS times something was scheduled and cancelled due to lack of staffing or techs. Don't tell people that they are going to go somewhere and then yank the carpet out from them. Or, better yet, completely leave them stranded in the parking lot at the center forcing them to walk home on a weekly basis (It's a nice short, safe and beautiful walk, but against the rules for PHP clients) Drug pushing: Not from the drug-addicted clients, but from the local psychiatrist (who you meet for 30 seconds to 2 minutes a week). She seems to think the best way to cure people with drug and alcohol addictions is to give them more drugs. Lots of Rx drugs. All the Rx drugs. ************* Overall, if I needed to return to rehab, I would absolutely come back to WRC. But read more

I was sent to Florida for rehab for the first time in March 2016 from Connecticut after having failed at several rehab attempts up north and the facility recommended i go to florida. This was the start of my complete downward spiral. To be sent to a place I knew no one, and was lied to about being able to have a phone, talking to family etc. My first night my roommate ended up getting sent to detox because she came back drunk. There were people stealing stuff and the staff didnt care. Another night i lived there, a girl in my apartment had her boyfriend that she wanted to sneak in through a sliding glass door in my bedroom, which i found out when he was banging on said window at 3 am and terrified me (someone who had already been a survivor of SA) to where i didnt sleep for 2 days. If a client's insurance ended, and there was no one they had to foot the out of pocket bill, they were IMMEDIATELY kicked out with little to no aftercare plan. My insurance fully covered a 30 day stay in their PHP, and once that was up, this facility went behind my back, and contacted my parents telling them they "NEEDED" to pay out of pocket for me to stay another month, or i'd be dead. Tens of thousands of dollars. They did not do much to help me, besides trying to over medicate me on Seroquel and other psychiatric meds. I ended up AMA-ing, and while i changed my mind the next day, and came back, they shut me out, and basically told me kick rocks and wouldnt give me my property, including my cell phone. Now. I was 24 at this time. and i am a female. They turned away a vulnerable young girl, with no direction on where to go, or way to contact anyone. I ended up in a horrible situation of trafficking, which i was lucky enough to get myself out of. After that additional trauma, i went on using for another 1.5years. I am proud to say that today i have over 5 years clean. I found an amazing rehab that actually helped me and cared about me as a person and not just a dollar sign. While I understand that my actions were my own doing, i also believe that it is a Rehab center's #1 job to help people who ask for it, and also do their absolute best to keep the people assigned to their care safe. Wellness Resource Center failed tremendously in even providing sub par care. There are hundreds of treatment centers in florida and throughout the united states, I would never in my life recommend to anyone, not even my worst enemy, send themselves or their loved ones to wellness resource center. read more

No treatment center, or rehab will ever be perfect. You will find faults anywhere you go, especially if you look hard enough. But Wellness Resource Center, in my opinion, is one of the best. After 4 years, I am still connected with the alumni program and the team at WRC continue to support me with any needs I may have. I continue to visit WRC, and be a support to those there. PLEASE beware of negative reviews. Many times these are left out of anger and frustration, and usually GREATLY exaggerated if not false. In the last 4 years, I have never seen theft, neglect, abuse, or dishonesty when it comes to insurance/finances, at this treatment center. Wellness may not be "fun" and "happy" all the time, but if you or your loved one wants real life change and sobriety, then its going to hurt, and its not going to be easy. Best of luck to you all! I went to this facility for 1 day 11/07/22. I wanted to do their IOP program. Did my intake with the director Gary. They made me put a Emergency contact. I asked if they were going to contact them. He assured me they would not contact them unless a emergency. On 11/08/22 they contacted my emergency contact for no reason. This place is unprofessional and doesn't know what's going. This unfortunately was not a good fit for my daughter for personal reasons regarding her, but I will say even 2 weeks after my daughter left their program, they went above and beyond to help me make sure my child was safe in Florida (as we are all from Massachusetts) and they are even providing her with a sober escort to the airport tomorrow to get her back up here so that she is definitely safe and that means more to me than anything. If you have any issues, their team will work with you as much as you need to find solutions and I've been very satisfied by that! I would recommend!! read more

I came to Wellness Resource Center in May of 2016. I had suffered over 20 years of untreated PTSD which led to overwhelming addictions. Illegal & Prescription drugs & alcohol. Before Wellness I had been to numerous rehabs trying to overcome addiction but none of these centers ever allowed me to address the real traumas of rape, domestic violence and separation of my daughter & I. WRC was the first place to EVER ask me what was really going on, what broke me and dug in to find out the REAL CAUSE OF MY ADDICTIONS. After that they allowed me to find ME and what worked for me to find Peace & Relief and helped me to see how STRONG I REALLY AM to have endured what I had and still be standing. They taught me how a broken brain affects the body and that pain I had felt WAS REAL and that took the guilt & shame away from all the ways I had to self medicate in the past. They built me up, educated me, supported me and gave me every tool I needed to go home have a life beyond what I never imagined. I am so grateful to WRC, I truly feel was my last hope of ever being ok. I'm so much more than ok today. I'm ALIVE & FREE and doing amazing things. I've only just begun. People can recover. My wife was here for treatment. Trying to get everything coordinated was a nightmare. They show photos of a pool, but clients receive only one hour of pool time a WEEK. The food options are terrible. My wife has barely eaten since she got there. Every time I call to address an issue that they ask me to resolve, they treat me terribly. Everyone I spoke with or saw in person is miserable. This is my first experience in rehab after spending 2 1/2 weeks in detox I chose this rehab because on their website they say that they have a house therapy dog when I got there there was no dog. Their apartments are nice and new for the girls But the boys seem to have a rat issue specially in the apartment connected to the main office downstairs. They keep saying they're going to fix it but I had not fixed it for the whole month I was there from March to April. My counselor Sophie at first I gave her a chance and thought she actually really wanted the best for me, one after the first week I realized she would not truly listen and after my stay for a month they continuously told me that my insurance was going to cut out on me which left me extremely stressed for the last two weeks I kept asking to call my insurance but they always seemed too busy or overwhelmed after I left wellness I spoke to my insurance and they said they had no intention of cutting my treatment. I literally had a panic attack about this Sophie with threaten me and tell me that my family needed to pay $14,000 dollars for a A longer treatment when I told her my family didn't have it they wanted me to let them get loan. When later I found out from my insurance that they would've paid for everything all along! Very unprofessional and Sophie went on to tell me that if my family did not pay the $14,000 she would not help me make a plan for when I left the rehab and when I would ask her questions her answers were always different .She also told me if I left rehab early I would have to pay for the treatment that my rehab would not be covered by insurance if I left early which was another lie I believe this place needs to get more counselors they are clearly overwhelmed so she has her own agenda and I would not recommend this place I should've gone somewhere else the place originally wanted to go when I only. UPDATE: Rehabs have contracts with Insurances and they pay much less then a patient in Self Pay. Example: regular group therapy session cost is $300 a session, someone in Self Pay will have to pay the full amount, but if you are covered by your insurance they will pay about $100 for that same session. Insurance's pay less then half due to having a contract with a rehab. So for them to pray on when you are most vulnerable is really gross and disgusting. read more

While the apartments are very nice it depends on who your roommates are when it comes to safety (your sobriety safety and also safety of your possessions). There are 4 people per apartment so 2 single beds in each room. My 2 roommates in the opposite room were great. The roommate in my bedroom stole my clothing and had the balls to wear it in front of me and staff wouldn't do a thing. I am one who normally has no issue with getting physical but I didn't want to regress to my old ways so I chose to let her raggedy self keep my clothes because I brought my stuff that wasn't expensive due to knowing that I'm going to be in a place with people who were homeless and thieves (only some are that way) but that's the way they knew to survive as addicts so I forgot it. Then she got caught with all kinds of pills that I have no idea how she got in but either way she was kicked out and took even more of my stuff. I also met a tech there that when I left AMA due to how I was treated at the center not at the apartments, he searched me out on social media and was completely disgusting with how he talked me. He acted as if all females who were addicts were also sleeze bags that wanted any man who looked at them. Yuck no I don't. And shame on you for being a pig. After leaving AMA due to the horrid way my therapist acted (she clearly was hitting on and having inappropriate contact with the males in her care. She would always lock her door and make lewd comments to them and beg to be looked at like she was hot and wanted. She had severe issues. The place is loaded with people who are meant to be taking care of you but are all very much taking advantage and being sexually inappropriate to the people who need help. It's sad! Then when I left they told me if I came to get my phone and property I would be arrested for trespassing. They called the police but they couldn't arrest me for returning for my belongings. They are a total disgrace in care. read more

My prior review was taken down, so I am posting another one. I was at this facility last April-early May 2022. I talked with the admission staff at least 5 times before arriving. I detoxed myself for 7 days prior to my arrival. I overused Chardonnay at 5pm daily. The first major problem with this facility is admissions lying about what you can and cannot do within the program. I was a private pay and easily gave up my phone at check-in. However, I said if an emergency arose with my handicapped husband, I would need to have access to my cell to contact people. I was assured I would be allowed. I was told of their weekly grocery run to Walmart with $75/week; I asked if I could bring my personal credit card to add more to the weekly allowance, and I was assured I could. This is not the case. We received $75 to shop for a week of food, cleaning supplies, paper supplies, and personal supplies. I did learn I could order from Amazon, but couldn't for 5 days and then the order went to wrong address. Couldn't accomplish until following week. Stuff didn't arrive until 3rd week in. I ordered glassware and bowls because our apartment had very few with 4 people. I did not mind this. I think admissions should allow people to preorder these supplies right away, so there is no stress about having enough food for a week. I managed with the help of my roommates and others in the community, so this was not a great stressor for me, just an annoyance. The pictures of the pool were enticing, but access was limited. I imagined myself sunning on lunch breaks. You got 1 hour on the weekends. No, your 8-5pm is well scheduled, I thought this was good, until it included weekends. To give this rehab a nod, the weekends were filled with some fun stuff, but it got old when you just wanted to catch up on sleep and do nothing. Not an option. I went to this park twice while there and did a walking .5 mile trail. Another time, we trekked to beach from park, which was super fun. I never did equine on the weekends. Not my thing, but others enjoyed being outside. On weekends I did music and art sessions and free time. Left brain accounting person, I found music to be the most fun of the week! Free time was doing sudoku or reading a book. Some played cards and it was never a bad time. Sundays were movies, morning games, and evening AA or NA meetings. I attended two Sunday meetings and quickly learned the speakers did not speak to me. I was too old to relate and had no younger experience with their issues. After 2 week, I learned how to leave and sit out back until over, which was fine. The best parts of this experience are several. First, I had an amazing therapist, with whom I met with 3 times a week, 1 individual and 2 in group. Therapist helped me identify why I was escaping my life with 5pm drinking. Back at the apartments, there are multiple techs there 24/7. They were great and transported us each morning/night to center and gave meds. They took us on personal appointments, drove for cigs, groceries, and anything else imaginable. Surely paid little, but great support. Most recovered people Until I arrived, my roommates were dealing with a broken coffee pot. I had it replaced in 2 days. These were the little things that started adding up about the place. The facility manager didn't react until you addressed firmly. I had to do this twice after our TV stopped working. (Coffee pot first) It took 10 days to fix our TV(my 3 visits assisting help). Not an issue for me, but my roommates were annoyed. It's all you have at night unless you want to go sit by pool at tables identified as boy or girl and smoke your brains out. Don't get me wrong, I did that nighttime routine regularly. The "clients" were/are the best part of this experience. It made me feel the importance of community, which I have never embraced. I was older than most, and so empathetic to the young clients. The biggest and most impactful issue with this facility is their patient path. I can tell you all the times the Executive Director stopped a client from moving forward to OutPatient, because it impacted his bottomline. This is where this organization fails the clients. They'll tell the client, "Oh, you're not ready," but what that really meant is I can still collect on your PHP(partial hospitalization participant) insurance payment, so we're going to exhaust that before we release you to Outpatient or any other scenario. It happened with friend and multiple others while I was there. For everyone, these decisions can't be financial and needs to be therapeutic. This is where this facility fails 100% and is driven only by dollars. Imagine your loved one in a facility working the insurance payments and not the therapy. Doctor did not seem caring. All doctors I go to are genuinely concerned for their patients. I did not get that vibe. I'll go elsewhere

I went here ten days ago and had to fight like hell to get out. I was lied to about pretty much everything dealing with this facility. This place is poorly run, utilizes you tube videos as its main method of teaching recovery, totally understaffed, nursing is not knowledgable in even the basics, they lock you in confiscate your i.d. and make you sign a 72 hour in which if you leave they put you outside the door without anything including your i.d. as a means of punishment, they will only allow you to speak to your family sporatically and even then it has to be on speaker phone where if you say the wrong thing they hang up. They called the police on one girl that wanted to leave and the police stated that the place was a fraud and that they were sick of them as was the city and didnt understand how they were not shut down. If you need recovery look elsewhere i was lucky enough to get out and get real treatment from professionals. I dont recommend anyone try delphi recovery, which by the way is also arete recovery. They treat addicts and alcoholics as scum and this should not be the case. read more

Wellness Resource Center - Terrific - Counseling & Mental Health Near Me - Boca Raton, Florida

I went to Wellness for a month over 6 months ago. All I can say is stay away. There are worse places out there, but your money will not be well spent here. Their whole ideology is based on deception and guilt. To start, you get a 2 week "black out" from phone use upon arrival, a fact that is kept from you while you talk to their admissions over the phone. I have had both staff and the doctor yell at me over things that really made no sense. I'll admit, I was occasionally a dick to staff, yes. But a place like this should be better trained to deal with their patients who by and large are still wildly screwed up from drug use. A lot of the staff seem...questionably qualified. When I decided to change to a different competing treatment center, they made me stand out on the road without phone use. I had to borrow a cell phone from a passer-by to call my new treatment center to pick me up. Unity Recovery is a much better place to get clean. Much more professional. Wellness is no doubt, pretty hilarious. The rooms are pretty nice. There is a lot of ridiculous BS to laugh at. I had "fun" there...I think...for whatever that is worth. So if you are looking for a whimsical sh*t-show check it out. Honestly, stay out of South Florida if you want to get clean. read more

First of all, poor Bobby D below my review. You will notice he has 3 reviews and they are all different treatment centers that got 1 of 5 stars. Perhaps you are the problem bobby and not the treatment centers you go to..... The rules at wellness at most other treatment centers are in place for a reason. Poor Bobby didn't get to call his mom for 2 weeks. Heaven forbid..... I just celebrated 3 years of sobriety. I honestly do not believe it would have been possible without the staff and therapists of wellness resource centre. Wellness helped me become a man in sobriety. I got wonderful exposure to AA while I was in wellness. One of the greatest things about wellness(besides the staff and therapists) was the fact that they encouraged us to go out on "passes" with people in recovery from the area. It's wonderful to be encouraged to go out and experience life on our own with others in recovery. The apartments were very well kept and honestly very nice. After a week of groups I also love the fact wellness took us out on activities. Movies, zoo, dinners, etc.... I am absolutely honored and blessed to be a part of wellness alumni. There are so many people in the area who have recovered from their addictions because of wellness and now how lives beyond their wildest dreams. Thank you wellness! read more

The Palms is just amazing!!!! I've been struggling with addiction for quite a long time, and I just have to say, The Palms is by far the greatest rehab that I have been too. From the Tech's, Clinical Staff, and the Owner's!!!! I have never been treated so kindly, respected, and let like family. You make amazing bond's, that I feel will last a lifetime. I just have to give out a few shoutout's ; Adam one of the Tech's made me feel welcome, and never quit on me, when I felt like quitting on myself ( also a fellow Veteran), Josh Lead Tech just an awesome guy, Peyton also an amazing Tech, Ryan another great Tech, and I cannot forget to Mention Mark, who works in Medical; he is absolutely one of the greatest human beings, that I have ever met. Today Im picking up my son after he spent several weeks in treatment. As a person that has been without alcohol for 40 years I kind of know good from bad rehabs. I went here only because Florida Blue accepts them. I would need several more pages to detail how bad this place is. I had no contact with his cold, unfriendly therapist except to tell him how bad he was. No family meeting that I asked for, no updates, no kindness (they were rude to me), Major construction going on which my boy said was very distracting, drinking by clients (confirmed), someone set a fire on premises (confirmed), and rumors of sexual contact between an employee and a patient (unconfirmed). I have reported them to the supervisor of Children and families and to my insurance company. Im still not done with them. Im not sure which was worse worrying about my sons out of control addiction to alcohol and xanex or his safety at this shithole.They suggested a lousy halfway house so I found one on my own. The therapist seemed annoyed that I chose another which probably means they get kickbacks for referrals. The only good thing is son stayed sober. Im running out of space so Ill end but the list goes on and on. If you love your children or anyone that needs help I implore you not to use this place. Not only will they not get the help they need, but they will treated poorly and certainly not get the therapy promised. Im concerned about picking him up this morning so I may have Boca PD standby. read more

Wellness Resource Center saved my life. Back story: I am an alcoholic and suffered from an eating disorder, bulimia - the alcohol has been 5 years (with a year sober, when I relapsed in April, landing me in treatment) - prior to Wellness, I stayed In Arizona at an eating disorder facility. I felt the care and staff was unequipped at the eating disorder place and transferred out of there after 19 days. When I arrived at Wellness I was broken, confused and frustrated with myself. I had let a year of sobriety slip through my fingers, which was largely impacted by the mentioned bulimia, something I had refused to acknowledge for almost 14 years. I was terrified. I had done some clinical work, volunteered regularly at treatment centers - but had never seen any center outside of Iowa, where I am from. I think that is why it's so frustrating to see the comments of how horrible the treatment center was, complaining of the living arrangements and the food cards, and therapy. I came from begging to get into any treatment center in Iowa. I wasn't an active drinker, so you get put into a psych ward, which only has 12 beds in Des Moines. I am a smart person, I know the affects of alcohol but after struggling for three weeks in Des Moines, bouncing in and out of psych units to NOT drink, then getting put on about 6 new medications from a doctor that I had a skype session with - having just a bed, therapy options, people who were actually going through the same exact issues was incredible (and terrifying, but I got to do it). My point is, it's easy to trash talk any place if you aren't ready to get better, but after 2 inpatients, and 3 IOP it took getting completely out of my comfort zone and away from everything I knew to fully understand my own disease. People are dying in Iowa, getting turned away, with nothing, no options, so if you get the chance to check out a place with one star from a disgruntled client - do it, because it worked for me, and I couldn't be more healthy or content in my life. Therapy - I have never had so much therapy in my life, and I hated it but at the same time was grateful. I had group therapy every day - I met with a nutritionist once a week, eating disorder therapist twice a week (who was amazing and better than any therapy I had ever had), individual therapy twice a week with my case worker, and then caseload three times a week - a smaller group. We had large trauma group, women's group, DBT, anger and mixed classes during the week. It was all incredibly life changing. I addressed past trauma from childhood, eating disorders, bad relationships, boundaries and my hopes and goals for leading a relapse free life. If you get a chance to have therapy with Carolina, Kai, Marina, Gigi, Joan or Amy, jump at the chance, they are all incredibly knowledgable and good at what they do. It changed my life. Living conditions - I am not going to lie, I hated it at first. I had to share a room with someone, and I was not lucky to land clean roommates, so a huge load got thrown on me right away, some were loud, sneaky, annoying but the turnover rate is not short - people graduate, you get new roommates and I made friends quickly. I had to learn to set boundaries, and ask for help something I was terrified to do. I had to be around conflict, something I hated and caused severe anxiety - but I did it, and I was able to learn how to work through it, without sobbing or wanting to drink. It was annoying the $75 a week - and how you had to make sure you had everything - but, I went in with a roommate and we never had any issues with getting what we needed, and got basics and cleaning supplies too. AA - You go to a meeting every single day - and sometimes twice - which I learned to love. It gets you in the mindset and around people that are also serious about recovery, it was nice to start recognizing people as the weeks went on. Blackout - You get put on a two week blackout, no talking to family, no gym and no rewards (rewards is made for clients who follow the rules, make progress and complete homework and tasks) and it's really in my opinion probably not the best way to handle every single case. I felt a little like I was in trouble, and I didn't like that - and even in the case of "rewards" that was really never a thing, I think I got to go once, and then after that it was pick the best out of the best, which felt really high school - and I the people chosen, had disciplinary issues - at different points, so I don't understand the rubric, it just felt really unfair to those who did try hard, had no issues and sort of fell through the cracks. That all being said - you are not a prisoner, you can leave if you want to, I am sober, healthy, working full time and am glad to be alive - and would recommend Wellness to anyone I dearly love, it works, if you want it to. If you get the chance do not turn it down, it was Wellness for me. read more

WRC saved my life without question. I came there broken, desperate and hopeless. Despite being a terrible client for much of my stay, the staff never wavered in their support for me. They gave me hope when I had none and believed in me when no one else did. I have been around many treatment centers and never met a staff that cares about their clients more than WRC. Their therapists are amazing and changed my life. Today, almost 4 years sober after 25 years of using, my life is incredible and I owe it all to WRC and their staff! Thank you WRC! read more

I went to wellness resource center in 2008 and have been sober ever since. The staff then and the staff now are compassionate, highly educated, and well trained in dual diagnosis addiction treatment. I had been a client at other treatment centers prior to wellness but wellness is the treatment center that got through to me and helped me change my life for the better. The program provides individualized care very specific to each clients unique needs. Wellness provides weekly individual and group therapy as well as family dynamic support. I was wary of group therapy but found learning through the example of other people's circumstances quite educational, providing insight into my own experiences. The high quality intensive therapy was crucial to my recovery and allowed me to become aware of my patterns and change them. At the suggestion of my therapist I stayed longer than 90 days and I am so grateful for the extra time. It took a long time to create the problem so naturally it takes time to solve it. Not all the suggestions were comfortable ie halfway houses and roommates but every suggestion had a purpose I can see clearly in hindsight. As for the few negative reviews... as with most things you get out what you put in. read more

This was the second treatment facility I attended so I only have one other to compare to but I'd have to say Wellness surpassed my expectations. I not only made friends with other clients, I developed strong connections with the staff as well. I felt truly cared for and finally learned how to come out of my shell. Marina was a great therapist and I've heard great things about the others as well. They provide a routined schedule for your days with group sessions, one on one therapy, even allow outside activities one the weekend that we vote on as a group. It didn't feel like a prison. It felt like a home. I highly recommend this facility! read more

The staff at Wellness were very compassionate and skilled. I felt that the quality of care was excellent.

One of the most disastrous poorly run treatment centers I've ever seen. Starting with the facilities the apartments are disgusting cockroaches everywhere and half the appliances don't work in any given room. The air conditioning was constantly going out and it would take days for management to get it fixed. There is a pool but you're lucky if you get to use it one day out of the week. The vans they transport you on are more of the same the air conditioning barely works so you have to suffer driving around in the Florida heat. They give you a $75 Walmart card for food but don't tell you over the phone that you have to pay for toiletries, paper towels, toilet paper, and anything else you might need for day to day living. So if you run out of food before the next time you go shopping you're out of luck. The environment is not safe at all as there are too few techs on to monitor 50+ clients at any given time so people will have sex, run off, and get into fights regularly. As far as the therapy goes expect to sit in large groups 20+ with one therapist except for case load which is a smaller group with each individual therapist and the clients assigned to them for an hour and a half three times a week. In the large group it is impossible to get any real therapy with one or two people almost always dominating the conversation for the allotted time. The therapists are very good at blaming everything on the clients and reporting back to the parents to manipulate them into getting their children to stay longer. Individual therapy is just as laughable because you're only allowed to have 5 minutes every night to call loved ones the majority of your sessions (30 minutes 1x weekly) will be spent trying to contact them and it is impossible to have a conversation privately with a family member while you are there. When your family really needs to get in contact with the treatment team it is almost impossible and any messages parents or children try to relay to each other will not be received. Wellness hardly attempts to make life even slightly enjoyable for you while you are there they put a select few people on what they call rewards every week which is a fun activity for a few hours one day a week. Most treatment centers take everyone after a short period of time and that is also what the previous staff did. The IOP portion of Wellness is also a joke if they get your family to pay for it you will be required to walk around in the heat interviewing for jobs that are too far to commute to while also staying within the bounds of the curfew there. They make no effort to help you get to a job interview or work once you actually get a job. You will also be kicked off stepdown for any minor thing done wrong. Frankly this place only cares about their bottom line now that it is owned by Acadia. When I was on stepdown the treatment center had someone in the finance department (not a therapist) say I needed to work for two weeks on stepdown before I could leave to halfway. My families response was no we have no more money to give you people scholarship him if you care so much and think he needs two more weeks and lo and behold I was sent on my way two days later. The only positive thing I can say about this place is they let you go out on passes with a sponsor and sober supports almost everyday of the week if you put in enough passes it really is the only respite you'll get from a miserable time there. read more
