I have been a loyal client of this salon for a decade and have always been happy with my service, which makes writing this review incredibly difficult. However, my last two haircuts were uneven and grew out poorly, and my most recent visit with my 11-year-old daughter was entirely unacceptable. During our appointment, my stylist heavily lectured my daughter about heat styling and using heat spray, making passive-aggressive comments about how her own mother never taught her these things so she had to teach my daughter--all while I was standing right there. It felt incredibly disrespectful and intrusive, and it made my daughter very uncomfortable. Furthermore, the stylist made an offensive comment to us about how she "refuses to cut anyone's hair if it's too damaged" because of "where she is in her career." My daughter and I prefer to keep our hair long and don't get frequent cuts, and being judged or shamed for our hair condition by a professional we've trusted for years was highly disappointing. To make matters worse, the salon environment felt completely unmanaged. Another client and his mother were allowed to hover closely around my daughter. Despite her being visibly upset and uncomfortable, the other stylists simply brushed it off saying, "Oh, he won't touch you," instead of respecting her personal space or intervening. After ten years of loyalty, the drop in technical quality and the complete lack of professional boundaries and awareness during this last visit means we will not be returning. read more

I always had a great experience here! Came in for a hair correction on a haircut ! Aerial corrected the haircut and has been taking care of my hair ever since along with my son and my daughter. She's great at cutting curly hair. She also is quite talented at color technique. I highly recommend this salon has a great atmosphere and really works with the clients. read more

I have naturally curly hair and have struggled for years to find someone who does a great job. I finally found Jen at Legacy Hair Studio. She does a fantastic job. I highly recommend her. I am a retired hairstylist so I know what a good hair cut is. The salon is clean, the staff is friendly and the prices are good. read more

Courtney gives me a great cut and highlights for a reasonable price! I wear my hair short and have embraced the gray. But the pretty color she gives me blends with the gray so naturally. I still love coming to Legacy even after moving to Wooster. I do come with my Mom and we have lunch together afterwards! read more

Courteney is a professional stylist that listens to & achieves my requests. The entire staff is warm & friendly. The price for a cut is reasonable. The salon is clean. They seem to utilize high quality products. They often have a sale and/or give samples or make recommendations. I've been a regular client for many years. read more

Taking what's left of my hair to a real stylist is like plopping some Play-Doh down in front of a great sculptor and saying, "Here. Make some of that art." But, Nicole and the rest of the smiling staff at Legacy didn't laugh at me, at least while I was there. Which is very professional. I'm in that awkward hair stage between "I think I can still look like I have some" and "where's the shaving cream?" I had been buzzing it, but decided to try letting it grow out a bit. Nicole has been patiently coaxing it along, trying to make it scream less of midlife crisis and more of managed grooming. So far, she's been successful but I believe she will, if the time comes, break out the razor and return me to "didja get a bowl of soup with that cut?" She's the best. And the pricing is in-line with those hair cut factories that are in every strip mall in every suburb in every state in every country in the universe. My mom comes here all the time to get her hair cut and loves it. When I was back in town and needed to have mine cut, I decided to go to Legacy Hair. I'm glad I did. I made an appointment for the following week with Ashley. She cuts my mom's hair so I knew I couldn't go wrong. I arrived a few minutes early b/c I forgot that it basically takes 15 to get anywhere in Medina compared to the 30 plus minutes it takes in Chicago. Ashley took my coat and asked if I wanted coffee or water. I past and was taken back to her chair. I showed Ashley a picture of a hair cut I found in a hair style book that I bought a few years ago. We talked for a few minutes and decided on a game plan for the hair cut. Afterwards I went back to the washing area and had my hair washed. After my hair was washed, I went back to to her chair and the cut began. My hair was really long and I was looking for a short cut. I watched as my locks of hair fell to the floor. I began to feel like a new person as this was happening. Eventually the rough cut was complete and Ashley proceeded to blow-dry my hair and straighten it so she could continue with some precise cutting. Before I knew it my cut was done and my hair looked super cute. The price was right as well it was only 28 plus tip. I have paid a lot more for similar cuts in Chicago. I think I'll be waiting to have my hair cut until I come back to Medina again so I can save up money and have a good cut for a decent price. read more

My experience here was amazing. The ladies that work here are so kind and confident. I went in and they asked what was my favorite drink and what I would like my hair to look like. Then took the time to wash and style my hair. You can walk in without reservations. I will definitely be coming back. read more

Went and had my hair trimmed today with Emily very nice and personable girl. Would recommend friends and family to come here

I went to Legacy Hair Studio for the first time on Friday, 2/18/11. I was a bit anxious as I have not been to a real salon in years. (My friend, who is a licensed stylist, had done it out of state). The women at the salon made me feel welcome, comfortable and calm. Jess, the one who gave me the cut, was amazing! She did just as I asked and then some. She made me feel gorgeous in my new hairstyle and I was actually taken aback when I first saw her work in the mirror. It was an excellent experience and I will be back! read more

Desperate for a hair cut after 6 months without I went online looking for a reasonably priced salon in Medina with good reviews. Pickings were slim! I found 4 reviews good for Legacy Hair Studio but the most recent was over a year old. Well, given what I had to choose from it was still the lesser evil. I tried to call but got a busy signal. So I just walked in and lucked out! I was put with Cheryle. She asked me what I wanted and bless her heart, I had no real idea! I told her Tawny Kitane circa 1985 (hey, you can ask for anything). I have very fine hair and have never found anyone who seemed to have any answers that worked. I showed her a picture I had of myself that I didn't hate. She talked me through what she thought I should do. Told me what she was doing as she went. Most people have had a cut & style that they could never duplicate. I have never had one that I didn't go home and immediately try to fix! As she was drying it I was seeing volume I have never seen before...and without a curling iron! She told me that she cared and she showed me that she cared! When was the last time you had a stylist tell you they cared? She made herself available for teaching me how to do different things with my hair and recommended some other treatments I will most certainly take her up on it! I got lucky with this roll of the dice and would recommend her to anyone so long as she is still available when I need her! read more

I am only giving one star because it is the lowest option available. I went to donate my hair, which was down to my mid back. I told the girl that I wanted it to be shoulder length when it was dry. She asked me about layers. I had layers when my hair was long but never when it was short. She said the layers would make my hair look not as thick. I have very thick hair so I agreed, but I did say just a little. I ended up with a haircut that was choppy and uneven. It was unflattering for me and very hard to deal with. Before moving to the area I had some that did my hair that knew me and my hair. She never would have cut it this way. I pretty much instantly regretted this haircut but did speak to the owner and agreed to come back so they could try to fix it. I couldn't believe that when I went back the new hairdresser I had defended the haircut and said that she would have done the same thing. I asked her to try to blend in the layers so they weren't so obvious and choppy. She did this and it first it looks good, but after washing it again and trying and styling it looks just as horrible as before, and worse now it's slightly shorter and it's going to take forever to grow out. I don't recommend this salon because they take too many liberties. They also have theories that don't work for everybody's hair, but they apply to everyone. The hairdresser explained to me how you HAD to have layer with short hair, despite hair type. She didn't believe me when I said I had my hair this short before and did not have layers. She said that it would make my hair look like a triangle if I didn't have layers. I believe these these hairdressers are taught a certain way and can't think outside the box and don't take the time to investigate each hair type before grabbing the scissors and going. I just hope I can get my hair long again and looking good for my wedding in less then years. What a mistake on my part, and even more disapointing that I gave them a second chance. Dont visit this salon if you want a simple haircut that works for you, you will only end up with a "trendy" mess. read more

I went here for the first time the other day. Being new to the area I based my choice off of reviews. This place is very cute and they did a wonderful job on my hair. I went in for a trim and I had Jenn as my stylist and she was very friendly and did a great job. They also have a rewards program. Will definitely be going back here. read more

They have great Paul Mitchell products, and the gals will help you choose the right one for your needs. The prices are super reasonable too - comparable to what's being sold at so-called "discount" stores! Always friendly and make me feel very welcome read more
