Great picture frame wood fencing with incredible gates.

Jim Eaton (Legacy Fence) did a fantastic job on our 192 feet of fence. This also included two large driveway gates and a walk gate. We've got a healthy 1 acre of property and needed to break up our fencing job into multiple years and that was no issue with Jim at all (Meaning, he only got a portion of our entire job based on our budget for this year). He used great materials, and the gates he built are VERY strong considering the two driveway gates are both about 18 ft gates. I also really appreciated him educating me on other fencing jobs I am doing on my own on my property with no expectation that he needed to do the jobs himself. In fact, I was telling him my wife decided to have me build another walk gate I hadn't previously planned on, and Jim gave me an extra set of hinges and a latch for when I built it. I was very happy working with Jim. I would also advise future clients of Jim that because fencing is broken up into sections of work (i.e., posts and cement drying, framing, etc.), that Jim is trying to be efficient with and maximize his time and possibly will be working multiple jobs at a time. I had no problem with this, but I could see how some folks may think that Jim will be at their house every hour of the day until your job is finished. If you go into your work with Jim with proper expectations, I believe you will be very satisfied. For my 192 feet of fence with three gates, it took approximately two weeks.

I don't understand how the other people reviewing this company had a good experience. He's already been convicted with the same business name for taking money for a job and ditching out. Just do a little checking. We didn't and paid the price. He can't even go by his real name people. This owner is a lying thief and was a complete failure with us. He promised us 6 days to build our back fence. 6 days turned into 2 months with an exposed property with dogs. Every time he said he would show up he DID NOT! EVERY TIME???? Yes. We had to wait to see everyday if he would show up and chase him for the reason why. No professional crew. We had to young men with a loose dog running our neighborhood. What could possibly go wrong? We started with begging...then we finally had to get ugly (which we are not ugly people so we didn't appreciate having to get nasty) And wow, amazing how he then came and finished. He lied lied and lied again with excuses which we knew were bunch of crap. It's pretty bad when you have to tell a fence guy not to come back on your property. And that's the level it reached. We were really bummed as it put a lot of strain on our schedule and lives. He's has many personal problems that he dumps on you (TMI) to then use as excuses when he can't follow through. He is a pro at lying and uses these tactics. He's behind on jobs and scattered. You will get caught up in his lack of moral compass. DO NOT HIRE. Seriously, not worth the risk. The fence was good too, but getting there was a nightmare.

Weeks later we found a water pipe flowing water into an obscure area of our yard and noticed that our new landscaping lights weren't working on that side of our yard. We called Tholl and let them know about the damage and they told us that it is our responsibility to inform them of the location of pipes and underground electrical, so they wouldn't take any responsibility for the damage and they wouldn't repair the damage. Now the Tholl employees never told us about the damage and just literally buried it and went away. We paid another contractor to find the wiring issue and repair the water pipe damage since Tholl was not responsive to their damage. We had an outstanding balance with Tholl that was equal to the $1,500 we paid to fix their damage and informed them that we wouldn't pay for their damage. Tholl turned this over to a collection agency that tried very hard to effect our credit scores and would not listen to our side of the story. Bottom line is Tholl did did a mediocre job, damaged our property and wouldn't accept responsibility for their poor workmanship or fix the damage. Then turn us over to a collection service! Learn from our mistake and be cautious with this company. I wish we had researched their reputation before hiring Tholl. Thanks!

I place this up front on my review if you don't want to read what happened and just move on. I called Tholl Fencing asking for a bid to place a motorized gate at the top of my driveway. I was told Trevor Applebaum would call me back to schedule a date to come out. After 3 days I had not heard back so I called again and was told Trevor would be calling me soon. Later that day I did get a call from Trevor and the first thing he said to me was "Before I come out, I want you to understand that you are aware of what the cost will be around to make sure you want me to come out." I said back not sure you can guess since you haven't seen it but what do you think? He replied "Around $30,000.00 to place a gate on your property" Trevor than went into needing a pedestrian gate along side the driveway gate. I told him this is private property and we are just looking at replacing the current inoperative gate. Trevor then said" We really don't want to come out and waste our time and not do a professional job." I replied that was the first honest thing I believe he said that he did not want to come out and do the job. Since this conversation I have had Tahoe Fencing come out and place a bid and it is less than 10% of what Trevor was guess quoting. THOLL FENCING is a company that is either lazy or just want the large jobs to place their plaque on the fences. So, if you have a small project THOLL FENCING is not the company you want to call. I can not review the quality of their work since they didn't want to do the job.

First, I am surprised there are some good reviews on here for this company because our experience…read morehas been very bad. We bought a new build home for 2.3 million. This company did the landscaping. It took me 2-3 weeks to get these guys to send me the original plans so we could make edits. It was like pulling teeth to get them to respond or listen to problems and they have been very unreliable. I did tell them we were interested in more work and they gave me quotes but were supposed to get back to me with more information and never did. They gave me the excuse multiple times that they were on vacation, but after hearing this multiple times from multiple different people, it gets old. Not a good way to run a business. workmanship issues on existing systems: Our lawn has been dead since original placement and you can see sod lines from where it was first laid which means it has been failing since the start. I have been attempting to revive it and found out when I aerated it that there is rock directly below the sod, so not enough soil was placed. The company did supposedly attempt to put fertilizer on it when this was brought up during home inspections/sale, to no avail, with no follow up. We noticed house across the street, same landscaper, has large brown spots also. We have had multiple (4-5) leaks with the drip systems (I understand this is common but it shouldn't be in a brand new system). We even had some dead plants because they apparently ran the line to it and then forgot to insert a dripper into the line at the plants. There was a leak in the sprinkler backflow which we had to fix ourselves because the company wouldn't get back to me. During the repair we saw they used incorrect materials, pipe dope on PVC pipe for example. It also appeared they did not use primer when they bonded the PVC which is probably what lead to the leak in the first place (or just a sloppy application) as it was leaking from an above ground elbow under PVC tape. Worse yet we also discovered no drain for the sprinklers was ever installed, so come winter this system would have frozen and broken pipes, but now I have to dig it up and do the job correctly.
