Fun taproom and eatery in Sacramento that we hit after a long day coaching volleyball. Service was super friendly and their outside area was hopping! We were thirsty and starving, and their digitally updated beer selection was well organized and represented a broad spectrum of beer styles. We initially tried their Mexican lager and a fruity sour which were both cold and refreshing. The Thai chicken sandwich included a nicely fried chicken breast complemented by a pineapple slaw, cilantro, pepper jack and a more sweet than hot chili sauce within a soft brioche bun. A little disappointed by the tri tip chimichurri sandwich which had an excellent blend of flavor combos but the trip tip was dry, kinda tough and under seasoned for our palates. We wish there was also more chimichurri sauce. The fries that came with both plates were fried well. Finished off the meal with their Russia River Happy Hops IPA which was outstanding. I had such a hard time deciding between the hot honey and the Thai chicken sandwich, so next time I'll be getting the Thai! Onion rings were amazing. Good ranch too! Fries were awesome and the burger was great. Seriously just all around outta sight. Came here with a couple of families and lots of kids under 5. Not a whole lot for kids to do, they run around and have fun, but there's nothing for them to play with unless you bring your own things. Like sacyard has giant connect four, nothing like that here. Lefty's is a great hidden Sacramento gem, every time I come here I expect it to be more packed but it just seems steady. The beer selection is great, their specials are great, I recently just had their Birria grilled cheese and it was worth the drive. The main thing I come here for is great beer and the Mac and cheese, I swear it's the best in Sac. I have been to Lefty's a few times now - located off of Elvas Blvd. They have street parking, but there has never been an issue finding a spot. When you walk up to the building, they have a tap room (I think), but if you go around to the side, they have an outdoor area as well as another building with more seating and the section where you order food and drinks. They have a good selection of beers and ciders, this past visit, I ordered the Twin Rivers Blood Orange Cider which I have been a fan of for years. For lunch, we ordered the Brisket Breakfast Burrito (special), Kids Hamburger and their Buffalo Chicken Salad. All of the food was really good, their burgers are even real burgers, no frozen patties. The guy at the counter was super friendly, but it did take a long time to order as he said something about it being a new menu, which I found odd. There was always a long line at the counter when we were there, I'm sure it was a mixture of the long wait time plus just being busy. Add Lefty's to your list of breweries to check out! read more

Love this East Sac spot! They have a GREAT selection of beers on tap. Not to mention, the food was also delicious. The salad was great, the buffalo fries were so good and the chicken was nice and crispy. The wings were a hit. The staff was friendly and would occasionally come around and pick up glasses and dirty plates which was great. It was crowded on a Friday night- there weren't very many free tables (a good sign)! My husband and his coworkers have been coming to Lefty's for quite some time to play trivia on Thursday nights. Recently, I have decided to join them. Occasionally, when we come, we indulge in more than just adult beverages. Some of the items from the menu that I have tried include the chicken tenders (yes, I'm a kid at heart), the buffalo chicken salad, and chopped beef sandwich. Obviously, it is impossible to screw up chicken tenders, and the buffalo chicken salad had great flavor to it. But I think the real winner for me was the chopped beef sandwich. I recently ordered this and it blew me away - both taste-wise and in the spice department. Those banana peppers carry some kick! The best way to describe the sandwich is if a burger and a Philly cheesesteak had a spicy little baby. They are dog-friendly, and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Parking can be a little tricky, especially when it is busy, but a lot of people walk or bike over. And the service is always fast and friendly, even when they are slammed. All in all, Lefty's is a great place to come hang out, grab some drinks with friends and enjoy a bite to eat. And the trivia is top-notch! read more

I really like this place as a taproom, but this day I came for the bbq because the yelp reviews gave it rave reviews. That may be the case, but come to find out that the bbq only happens about once a month, so there was no bbq to speak of. I thought the special (pulled pork sliders) might be bbq flavor, but it was dry, no sauce and almost no coleslaw on it, I could barely swallow it. On the flip side, the blue cheese bacon burger was amazing, and the onion rings were great. Just not sure when they'll do the bbq again. read more

Lefty's is a great neighborhood spot. We have quite a few scooter related get togethers there, and I'm consistently impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the selection of beer, and the ample outdoor seating. I haven't tried it myself, but I have heard nothing but good things about the food offerings as well. Personally, I can't get enough of the vanilla cream brew they have on tap, or some of the legit Kolsch / Czech pilsners. They do growler fills, too, but you do need to bring your own growler. Taking off one star (sorry guys!) because the seating area gets REALLY WET during the summertime when the misters are on. Like, sit under an umbrella wet. That said - it doesn't get too hot on the 100+ degree days, so give and take. Definitely worth popping by here for a pint or three. read more

Had this place on our radar for a while and we finally stopped in one day post-camping because we were in the mood for a burger. You order at the counter and it's open seating. We would have normally sat out on the patio but it was realllllly hot that day. The inside is small but sufficient. Ordering at the counter could be a little tough when the crowds are big, but we hit it at a pretty decent time that wasn't too busy. Good beer selection! For food, I ordered the BBQ burger and my BF ordered the Bacon and blue. Both were so good! I really enjoyed BBQ burger sauce...made in-house maybe? Easily once a week, if not three times we end up here for a beer. The tap selection is wide and varied; ciders, IPAs, lagers, bock, etc. add in the wine taps and non-alcoholic stuff, and I recall seeing some kombucha too. The kitchen's menu standards are all great. The onion rings could be battered instead of breaded but we all need a little room for improvement, right? The specials are where it is at though. Brunch until 2 PM on weekends is a hit in our house. In and outdoor seating both with tv's is ample and friendly folks who frequent Lefty's are ok sharing if things get tight or there is an empty shaded spot at a table. The service is good from the pour to pickup they are always happy you are there and want you have a good time. Dogs and kids are welcome. The corn was not grilled, the bottom of the cup of corn was watery and there was a single 1 inch cube of brisket in the entire cup of corn. Not at all near worth the 16$ charge. So we have been here in the past and the food has been good until today. We waited around 30 minutes for our food and when I asked the older guy to check on our order he came back and said they were waiting on the fries. The food comes out 5 minutes later and the fries were warm but not like they just came out of the fryer hot. The salie sando was also was not hot. Bf sent his burger back but at this point I'm too hungry to return mine. When the burger came back the bun was hot and toasted but the patty was not!!! It was l at best. He didn't send it back again but this is the worst experience I've had here. And ten million kids running wild outside so we sat inside but of course they come then come inside. So disappointing.
