I really love Leftovers Austin, which is a great estate sale company both for families looking to host an estate sale, and shoppers looking for great items. Leftovers creates extremely professional and well organized estate sales, with really nice presentation of the items. Their employees are friendly and easy to work with. Leftovers is great at publicity. Their sale signage is very clear and noticeable, and they advertise each new sale on their mailing list and Facebook page with all the little details very well covered. Leftovers takes copious amounts of photos of the goods and posts them on their website so shoppers know what to look for at an upcoming sale. And most importantly for shoppers... Prices are quite reasonable. Valuable items and antiques are thoroughly researched for value and labeled with info during the sale. Talk about thorough. It's no wonder serious antiquers love to come to Leftovers sales. No one is as good at putting on a great estate sale as Leftovers Austin. read more

Phoned, texted multiple times. Never received a courtesy call back or text. Even if they were steadily booked and could not take us on as clients it would've been professionally appropriate to just let us know instead of ghosting. read more

From reading some of the previous reviews, it is clear that ownership has changed. Kevin and his team recently handled our Estate Sale and did an amazing job! They took many photos for advertising on their website, and went through all the items to research, tag and display in a nice manner. Whatever items didn't sell, they boxed up neatly and set in a corner of the house. Everything was left clean and orderly. I would definitely recommend them for your Estate Sale needs! read more

I totally agree with Kristiana below! I went to one of their sales recently and overheard the owner tell another lady shopping "If your writing a check, just make it out to me personally, that way you don't have to worry about the tax either!" I couldn't believe the audacity, how is she going to account for that sale to the client, let alone the state for sales tax. I won't go back to another sale, I think they are unethical! read more

I really enjoying going to the estate sales that Leftovers Austin hosts. You never know what kind of wonderful treasures you'll find. I also really appreciate their email service. It allows me to be informed of upcoming sales and offers me a chance to look at photos of some of the items that will be sold during the sale. There is also a map to help me locate the sale and a list of items divided into categories. read more

Very grumpy and misinformed people. We were told the item we were buying was going to be %50 off on Sunday, so we went back on Sunday and were told it was 50% off. We went to purchase and the grumpy old man at the register said it was 30% off, and was rude and dismissive. We set the items down that we were going to buy and left. That old fart was a JERK. If I were you, I wouldn't hire them, or shop at any of their sales. read more

I went to one of their estate sales to purchase a collectible item that was advertised in their craigslist add. They relisted the add and said everything was 50 % off except furniture was 30 % for Sunday. Which is fine because I wanted to buy any furniture. When I came by this morning I asked if they still had a certain item the lady that was walking around said "oh we took that home last night because we didn't want to discount it, it's on ebay now". I'm not sure why they were advertising that this particular item was there. I was told they just reused the original craigslist add. I guess they don't know how to edit items that are no longer at the sale. I went home and emailed them asking if I can buy with original asking price and they said it was sold...Wait a minute I was just told at the sale it was on ebay. So apparently it's both and they won't provide the listing info on ebay so I can have a chance to bid on it. I guess they really don't want the sale. The lady probably going to keep the ebay money for herself. read more

We discovered Leftovers last year and haven't missed many of their sales. We always come away with something unique... a real treasure. The prices are always fair, the merchandise displayed clearly and meant for sale. I never have to dig in a dirty box. The people in charge are top notch...very courteous and knowledgeable. My review is multi-faceted, I often work for this company when they have a large sale and need extra hands on deck as well as shop their estate sales. From my experience, they truly care about their customers and clients. I've found that they have built a rapport with many of their regular customers and when there are items at a sale they know a customer would like, they go out of their way to inform their customers. That's a personalized shopping experience folks, and I don't know of any other companies that do that. Also, when working for this local family business, they are extremely careful to keep the wishes of their clients (the home owners) at the forefront of their employees minds despite what is best for business, or convenience. I've also been a shopper at these sales, and although lines are long, and spaces are cramped, when you are in the company of a such great people you feel comfortable shopping! read more

We went to a sale this morning and would have happily bought several pieces of furniture, but the woman running the sale was extremely rude and unpleasant. We were with our infant son, and so had his stroller with us (he did not cry, we disturbed no one, and I mostly just carried him). My husband was bringing his stroller out of the house while I was waiting to ask about the price of a porch lounge set that I hoped to purchase, when she saw the stroller. She aggressively and angrily informed us that we had to get the stroller out of there, and when i asked if that meant I shouldn't ask about the porch set she said "no". This was after she got annoyed that I sat on a chair for a minute next to a table that I was hoping to purchase. So we clearly did not buy anything, and will not be returning to any of this company's estate sales. read more

I recommend Leftovers Austin. They were informative, trustworthy, delivered on expectations, and were just very helpful during a really hard time. They estimated the value of the sale reasonably, organized the space and set things up so they could be shopped easily, and were polite. Leftovers Austin responded quickly when I called them, which was wonderful since I needed their services on short notice. They worked efficiently, skillfully, and honestly to sell a wide assortment of collectibles, furnishings, gardening tools, books, LPS, and much more. I was so pleased when I saw the charming vignettes they arranged to best display my belongings. And I was delighted when they presented their check following the sale. It exceeded my expectations. These folks know what they're doing, and their warmth, intelligence, and desire to do a good job set them apart from others in their field, in my opinion. I have gone to several of Richard and Melissa's sales and find them to be the most organized and personable around. They do not overprice the merchandise as so many other sales I have attended do. Estate Sales are a place a dealer, collector and bargain hunter goes to find the best deal possible. Their job is to move the inventory, not act like a retail outlet. Leftovers Austin understands their demographic and works hard to make their sales a win for the seller and a win for the buyer. The best deals I have found come out of their sales. They do not sell "crap" but rather merchandise that is worth the time I take to attend. Its obvious they are doing good business by the merchandise I witness moving out of the homes and the crowds their sales draw. My friend and I go to estate sales every Friday morning. We have been doing this for many years. In all this time we have never found a group of people who are more helpful and accommodating than the group at Leftovers. They always have the houses set up nicely and are there to answer any questions you might have. They must be doing something right cause there is always a line at each of their sales. LEFTOVERS AUSTIN saved my life. I was drowning with excess stuff from 4 different homes that could not be accommodated in my current home. I could not access my garage or 20' x 20' storeroom where it was all stored - floor to ceiling. The Leftover's staff arrived 2 weeks prior to the sale and organized, washed, cleaned, polished, oiled, photographed, advertised and RESEARCHED hundreds of items. During the "identification" process a small wallet with a $100 bill was found and brought to me. I have suggested that they rename their company INTEGRITY LEFTOVERS of AUSTIN. They brought tables, tents, display stands and lighting to merchandise it all. The sale was advertised to over 2500 customers on their email list and on the day of the sale professional signs were displayed in the neighborhood and removed nightly. All areas where merchandise was displayed was manned with individuals who could answer questions - and monitor for theft. Customers who purchased items were funneled through one line where payment was made and an itemized list of all merchandise sold was charted. I received a check for almost $10,000 - and it was for "stuff" I contemplated calling Goodwill to pickup numerous times! These are professional good people who were a joy to work with and I would gladly recommend them to anyone in need of these services. read more
