Top notch studio space. I wasn't the one paying for the shoot so I can't comment on price, but this place is immaculate. The changing rooms/bathrooms are roomy, well lit, attractive and clean. There is plenty of common space for a quick discussion or chat. The general decor of the facility is sleek and creative (loved their beautiful black pool table). The physical area around Left Space is very non-descript, I've walked by this block a million times and had no idea such a fancy facility was hidden inside. Great and clean space! We came here for a Baby Gap audition for our daughter. It's not in the greatest part of town but we were still comfortable taking our little one. Parking was kind of a bitch but none the less we made it! The venue is super clean and professional. I love that you have to be buzzed in so you don't have to worry about randoms coming onto the property while you are inside. The bathrooms are large and well lit which is a plus. There are several waiting areas with couches and games and a pool table. Our audition sign in was in the blue room. Super big and clean! read more

Wow how shocked I am to see that this place only has so few reviews!! Honestly when I first walked into the building my eyes lit up and I couldn't keep my focus. The rooms are magnificent, the buidling it self is fantastic. The decor was also spectacular. If you are ever looking for a great photography stuido to rent out then this is your spot, I honestly don't know what the pricing is like but i'm sure it will be worth the money. Mercedes Benz rented out the studio this past weekend to introduce the new C (300/350). Mercedes had one studio available to hang out, checkout the C, have some snackes/Fiji water. Out back they had a test drive for the 300 or 350. It's a 5 car parade, led by a driver, which you follow. Thumbs up for having walkie talkies in the car so that the lead car can communicate to the drivers. It was about a 15-min romp through the neighborhood. As for the studio, it was clean and professional. If i was a pro photog needing space, I'll keep this place in mind. There was plenty of street parking on a weekend afternoon. I took Caltrain, got off on the 22nd st stop, and walked like 18 blocks... yes I'm crazy. read more

I love these guys. Justin has a wealth of knowledge in film/ stills and video production. Plus an awesome setup. They have the only stage set up for shooting cars in SF. And they are in the mission, damn that's hip. read more

a seriously beautiful and functional rental space in sf. my personal fave. 4 large studios (largest one is a full built car studio) and full service in-house rental department complete with a full profoto line, digital backs, cameras, grip etc. this is an amazing space and i'd be feeling like a high roller if i got to shoot here. other perks of the spaces, free wifi, ipod jacks and a kitchenette in each studio with full kitchens available and multiple client workspaces and lounges available. and did i mention that they're like 15 feet from the front door of calumet?? god-forbid they don't have something in stock (which is pretty damn unlikely) you're a 2 second walk from the place to get it. dakota (studio manager) and robert (studio assistant) are totally rad and amazingly helpful and professional. hands down, the best non-daylight space in sf. read more

Absolutely fantastic. The studios are clean (actually spotless), well-proportioned, and well-equipped. Everything has been thought-out, from the tip lists posted on the wall, to the local restaurant menus, to the extension cords hanging exactly where you need them. The staff is helpful and friendly. The equipment room is well-stocked. The common areas are comfortable and inviting. In almost every way, they have taken the extra step to make your shoot run more smoothly and with less hassle. If I sound like a fan, it's because I am. Every other studio I've rented looks positively shabby by comparison. read more
