Went back to Leeway Cottages for Easter! The entire family got to go! We all rented cottages and The Lodge which is like the "party house", had a seafood boil with fresh seafood bought from HEB which is like 5 min. From the cabins, we had BBQ and at night we had a fire, roasted marshmallows. Leeway Cottages is a wonderful Place to reconnect with family, with your spouse or just with yourself. Even my puppy had a wonderful time. Kids went swimming at the creek & fishing!

This place is in a great location. Right on Cypress Creek. Stairs down to the creek that you can get in and relax on a hot summer day. Jacobs Well 15 minutes away, Blue Hole 5 minutes away, and Canyon Lake just 20 minutes away. With that said this place is dirty dirty dirty. Inches of dust and cobwebs, dead bugs everywhere. I spent the first hour we were there killing a colony of wasps. Outside the front door was a trash can that was overflowing with trash on the ground( check out the picture). Called the office which is off site and no one answered, left mesages and never got a return phone call and have not to this day. This is a corporate owned property, maybe thats why they don't care. Will be looking to book with an individual next time, they probaby care more about their property. Would have givin this place one star if it wasn't for the location.

Leeway calls me to it's creekside every year, especially in the Spring when everything begins to bloom. All of the cottages have had a fresh facelift and feel clean and welcoming. Rachel and Scott are attentive hosts.

Our view of the woods and creek :-)

The location right next to Cypress Creek is ideal for splashing in the water or just enjoying a cocktail on the porch.

Cabins at Stony Ridge - Ruby Cabin Living Area

    Cabins at Stony Ridge

We stayed at one of these cabins over a short weekend. We were only going to stay one night …read more.. but, we absolutely LOVED IT!!! And drove back to the cabins instead of staying the next night in Austin. This place is heavenly. To begin with, it is a gorgeous setting ~ quiet, calming, lovely views from the porch. Next, the interior is BEAUTIFULLY decorated and appointed ~ nothing left to chance from the dishes to the wifi & TV. These cabins are elegant, more high end than some expensive hotels. And, yet, they are rustic ~ fantastic reconditioned barn wood ceilings, gorgeous stone bathrooms (with shower large enough for two;), giant full cabin length deck. I felt very pampered by the comfy king bed (super delicious sheets!) and the outdoor jacuzzi (easy to use). Another plus is that the owners are great. Easy to deal with and so willing to help. We LOVED our stay and are looking forward to staying again. If you get the chance, stay at Stony Ridge. You will be enchanted too!!!

We just returned from staying at the ruby cabin for 6 days with our 8 year old son. The cabin is…read morebeautifully decorated with amazing views. I loved the covered porch with surround sound and the hottub. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were super soft. I also loved the shades that you simply pull down to cover all the windows at night. It really was peaceful and just the getaway we needed from the city. However, for the price I expected much more because I have never paid this much for a cabin that didn't include everything we needed for our stay. It also could have been a little cleaner for my liking when we arrived. First, they only provided 3 dinner plates, 4 small plates and 4 bowls along with 4 forks, 4 knives and 4 spoons. This would be OK if there were two of us and we were only staying one night, but they knew there were 3 of us and we were staying 5 nights. If you allow that many people for that amount of time, then you should provide enough of everything they will need during their stay. I mean who doesn't at least have an 8 piece setting? Also, while there are pots and pans, they are the cheap metal kind that everything sticks to, so basically useless. And don't count on using the oven because they only provide 1 glass 9x14 pan, so bring your own pans if you want more than a casserole or microwave dinners. There is the grill but its small. Also, the seating in the living room is not very comfortable and really only accommodates two. There is the patio, but again there is only setting for two. And it does get chilly on the patio in the evenings and unfortunately only 1 throw blanket was provided. We had to drive 40 minutes away to the nearest Walmart to get all these basic items that weren't included and that was frustrating. I would have simply brought my own items if I had known. If you are looking to only stay one or two nights with your significant other and you don't plan on making your own meals, then this place is great, but for a family who likes to cook who prefers comfort over looks, then I would look elsewhere. For that reason, I am only giving 4 stars.

    Buffalo Bend Cabins

On the Buffalo Bend property there are two cabins and the owner's house. The El Sol and the La…read moreLuna are about 75 yards apart. Both cabins have identical interiors and exteriors. However, there are two distinctive differences in the cabins. The El Sol cabin is the second cabin on the road and is a little more secluded. The La Luna has a better view. My wife and I stayed in the El Sol cabin because we wanted more seclusion. The owner of the cabins, Melissa, emails perfect directions and you will need these directions. It's not difficult to find the cabins, but if you didn't have the printed directions you wouldn't be able to locate them. When we arrived at the El Sol cabin, Melissa had just finished checking the cabin. Melissa is extremely nice and told us about a storm had hit them two days prior, so the satellite tv and internet weren't working. This didn't bother us since we never turned on the tv and we used our smartphones for the internet. Either way, both utilities were repaired and running by our second day. Both cabins have wooden floors and consist of a living room/kitchen area, one bedroom, and a bathroom. The living/kitchen area has a wood burning fireplace, tv, sofa, chair, refrigerator, stovetop oven, microwave, coffee pot, and dining table. There are window a/c units in the living room area and bedroom. I don't know how well they work since we didn't need them. They also have ceiling fans in the bedroom and living areas. We were able to sleep with the windows open since the cabins sit high enough for a very pleasant breeze. The bedroom has a queen size bed. My wife and I both thought the mattress was too soft for us. We're not big people, but our bodies formed somewhat of a "valley" in the mattress. Some people like this, but we like some firmness to our mattress. This was our only complaint, if you want to call it that since it really didn't affect our sleep. The bedroom also has a chest to store some of your clothes, end tables, and a clock/radio/alarm. The bathroom does have a suitable place for hanging all your clothes. Also in the bathroom there's a nice size step in shower, a sink, and of course, a toilet. There was plenty of hot water and you don't have to wait long to get the water hot enough for a nice shower. The water supply is collected rain water. Both cabins have their own cisterns and the water is filtered. Showers are nice with the soft rain water and much better than city water. Some people might not enjoy the taste of filtered rain water, more so if they're use to their chemical laden city water. :) We didn't have any issues with drinking the water. Outside, the cabins have plenty of trees. The El Sol is a tad more wooded. Both cabins have a gas grill, outdoor table and chairs, fire pit, hammock, and lounging chairs. There are two rocking chairs on the porch of both cabins. Both cabins have working hot tubs. I think I covered everything you need to know about the cabins. For my wife and I, it was nice to sit on the porch and watch the deer and foxes walking around the cabins. If you want to guarantee yourself seeing some deer, just throw some feed corn a few yards from the cabin porch. You can buy a bag of corn at the Ace hardware store or the feed store in town. My wife and I had a very nice, quiet, and relaxing time at Buffalo Bend. I'm sure we'll plan another stay in the near future.

My family (including two toddlers) and I were looking for a place that wasn't too remote where we could get away from city life and the busy-ness that comes with it. This place really hits the mark on all levels - conveniently located, but remote feeling, great accommodations (and the lovely host, Pam), a fantastic swimming hole on the Blanco, lots of great restaurants nearby, etc. There is also an impressive working farm that is always yielding plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. And, Farmer John is always interested in showing kids and sharing the bounty. Highly recommended!

McKenzie was so sweet but following orders she had to rush us to finish our duties. It's in the middle of nowhere and I do not know why they are sticklers to "their ways". There is a huge miscommunication between them two; mixed messages. No kind of accommodations are available. I did not enjoy interacting with them overall as I felt rushed and they just came off as entitled/unprofessional. They speak negatively about people instead or reaching out to them directly. They have a belief of they host "weddings", not "parties/celebrations" and are unaware of cultural differences. Pam is adamant about receiving a list for EVERY single detail such as when the bride/groom is getting ready and when everything happens when they weren't present the entire time to SUPPORT the event. That's the job of the coordinator. For the price overall of the venue/limits and the amenities and accommodations, this place is overpriced.

From the moment we booked, the customer service was proactive and welcoming; the digital guest guide made arrival and check-in seamless. We stayed in the Cutter's Quarters and the Corral, which were a masterclass in modern Hill Country design. The rooms were spotless, featuring high-end finishes and beds that were genuinely difficult to leave--the luxury lines and soaps are a game changer. Being able to park the car once and walk to every shop, wine bar, and restaurant on the Square made the trip incredibly relaxing. It's so naturally beautiful that Hannah wanted no extra decor because she wanted both families (Bride's and Groom's) to experience what God had created just for her, as she said to me. Kristie and her husband, the owners, went above and beyond to make our 3 day stay, a memory none of will ever forget! My husband and I stayed in the main cabin and each of our family had their own cabin. Bride and groom had a small private cabin as well. It was the perfect set up for a family of 6 to experience 3 days of vacation and wedding in the wonderful town of Wimberley! Children had the creek to play in, outdoor games, and fire pit to keep them busy. The cabins are right on the square so shops and restaurants are walking distance. We even hired the horse drawn carriage to take the kids for a magical ride around town! Highly, highly recommend Cabins on The Square!!
