On the Buffalo Bend property there are two cabins and the owner's house. The El Sol and the La Luna are about 75 yards apart. Both cabins have identical interiors and exteriors. However, there are two distinctive differences in the cabins. The El Sol cabin is the second cabin on the road and is a little more secluded. The La Luna has a better view. My wife and I stayed in the El Sol cabin because we wanted more seclusion. The owner of the cabins, Melissa, emails perfect directions and you will need these directions. It's not difficult to find the cabins, but if you didn't have the printed directions you wouldn't be able to locate them. When we arrived at the El Sol cabin, Melissa had just finished checking the cabin. Melissa is extremely nice and told us about a storm had hit them two days prior, so the satellite tv and internet weren't working. This didn't bother us since we never turned on the tv and we used our smartphones for the internet. Either way, both utilities were repaired and running by our second day. Both cabins have wooden floors and consist of a living room/kitchen area, one bedroom, and a bathroom. The living/kitchen area has a wood burning fireplace, tv, sofa, chair, refrigerator, stovetop oven, microwave, coffee pot, and dining table. There are window a/c units in the living room area and bedroom. I don't know how well they work since we didn't need them. They also have ceiling fans in the bedroom and living areas. We were able to sleep with the windows open since the cabins sit high enough for a very pleasant breeze. The bedroom has a queen size bed. My wife and I both thought the mattress was too soft for us. We're not big people, but our bodies formed somewhat of a "valley" in the mattress. Some people like this, but we like some firmness to our mattress. This was our only complaint, if you want to call it that since it really didn't affect our sleep. The bedroom also has a chest to store some of your clothes, end tables, and a clock/radio/alarm. The bathroom does have a suitable place for hanging all your clothes. Also in the bathroom there's a nice size step in shower, a sink, and of course, a toilet. There was plenty of hot water and you don't have to wait long to get the water hot enough for a nice shower. The water supply is collected rain water. Both cabins have their own cisterns and the water is filtered. Showers are nice with the soft rain water and much better than city water. Some people might not enjoy the taste of filtered rain water, more so if they're use to their chemical laden city water. :) We didn't have any issues with drinking the water. Outside, the cabins have plenty of trees. The El Sol is a tad more wooded. Both cabins have a gas grill, outdoor table and chairs, fire pit, hammock, and lounging chairs. There are two rocking chairs on the porch of both cabins. Both cabins have working hot tubs. I think I covered everything you need to know about the cabins. For my wife and I, it was nice to sit on the porch and watch the deer and foxes walking around the cabins. If you want to guarantee yourself seeing some deer, just throw some feed corn a few yards from the cabin porch. You can buy a bag of corn at the Ace hardware store or the feed store in town. My wife and I had a very nice, quiet, and relaxing time at Buffalo Bend. I'm sure we'll plan another stay in the near future. read more

My husband and I loved spending our honeymoon here at El Sol. After the hustle and bustle of planning a wedding, this relaxing retreat is exactly what we needed. It is perfectly secluded, quant, and impeccably clean. We will definitely be making a visit again in the future! read more

Melissa took great care of us and this little cabin as well. Extra mile in all details. The cabin may look small but it has everything you'd need and feels very roomy on the inside without losing the cozy feel at all. Big enough to comfortably sleep 4. The hot-tub (built the front patio) has a really nice view of the hills MILES away. Did I mention that it's PRIVATE? It was clean and well stocked. Almost instant hot water too. Also, a very short drive to The Square in Wimberley (maybe 4-5 minutes). Stayed in El Sol cabin to celebrate our 33 anniversary. Melissa's property is secluded and quiet, yet close enough to Wimberley to enjoy restaurants and shopping. The cabin was perfect and stocked with everything we needed. The hot tub was an added bonus! Spent the evenings relaxing with a glass of wine and watching the wildlife and sunsets. Awesome secluded cabins in the hill country. Couldn't be any better for a romantic get away. You can't see the the other cabin (there are two), the woods are peaceful. The night sky is free of light pollution and full of stars. With a private hot tub, grill, fire pit, hammock, you can't not have a relaxing time. Town in 5-10min away, for shopping, eating or exploring. The only draw back that we had was my wife and I were hoping to do some Netflix binge watching and the Internet was only good for very light web surfing and email. No Youtube or Netflix. They did have direct TV and our cabin a blue ray player if you want to bring movies. read more

Our recent stay at Buffalo Bend Cabins was absolutely amazing! My husband and I were celebrating our 17 wedding anniversary and wanted a private getaway with a romantic atmosphere. We stayed in the El Sol cabin and were very impressed by the southern charm decor and the cleanliness of the cabin. It is a one bedroom with large bathroom and fold out sofa so it can accomodate 4 people comfortably. My favorite was the outdoor jacuzzi which was heated when we arrived. Melissa went the extra mile to make our experience one to remember. For a small fee she provided us with rose petals, sparkling wine and fresh strawberries and breakfast pastries(upon request). It was a real treat to arrive with the wine iced down and the rose petals in the shape of a heart on the bed. That evening we made an outdoor fire and relaxed under the stars while reliving our adventures of the day. We visited several breweries in the area as well as Cypress Creek rum reserve. We also visited Jacobs Well nature reserve and made a small hike down to the creek. If you have not heard of Jacobs well please take the time to research and visit one of the many hidden treasures of the Texas hill country. The quaint town of Wimberly is so inviting and offers a wide variety of retail shops and antique stores. We ate at Cypress Creek Cafe and Inozs Brew and Chew where the food was delicious. I would recommend a stay at Buffalo Bend Cabins to escape the everyday hustle and bustle and take time to relax in the outdoor jacuzzi, where the views are phenomenal. This was our first stay and definitely won't be the last. Special thanks once again to Melissa for making this anniversary one we will be talking about for years to come! read more
