I'm glad I remembered to take a snapshot as we were leaving! Something for the review I wanted to make! ^_^
Megan H.

My grandfather took me to the Emergency wing of Lee's Summit Medical Center on June 21st due to a terrifying itchy, nightmare of a rash that was rapidly spreading and heating up on my Entire body! While all skin surfaces were getting covered in raised, lava patches of terror, my organs, joints, jaw, and internals were sore, stiff, and horrible. My fevers ranging from 99.2 to 102. The individuals working the lobby were professional, quick, and seemed to know what they were doing in their positions. Less than several minutes of being seen by my nurse and doctor, they both recognized immediately I was experiencing a dangerous, full-blown internal and external allergic reaction to some kind of medication. I told them I was taking a steroid-type medication called "Cadista" that was pathetically prescribed to me from the terrible doctor who saw me at the Saint Luke's Emergency Hospital on June 19th. But don't worry, that review will be posted about that nightmare at Saint Luke's very soon.. It was a horrible and upsetting experience for both my Aunt and I and because I was completely dismissed and ignored, and ridiculously miss-diagnosed with an outbreak of what they believed were mosquito bites all over my legs and hips, I could have ended up in FAR worst condition without the proper care I got at L.S.M.C. Yes, I am still very upset with that place.. -___- Anywho, Heather was the name of the doctor at Lee's Summit M.C., and after explaining to her how Saint Luke's treated me, my Aunt, and my situation, I then told her I was seen by the MinuteClinic of CVS on June 12th. I went in that day due to highly infected insect bites I had on my left hip. My grandfather was convinced I might have been bitten by a brown recluse! Thankfully I wasn't, and was diagnosed with Staph infection then provided a Sulfa-based antibiotic which Instantly told Heather and her nurse what my body was reacting to. Sure enough, I learned on June 21st that I am Deathly allergic to Any medication containing "Sulfonamides". Thanks to the wonderful people I was fortunate enough to see that day, I was instructed to completely Stop the medication and to regularly take 50mgs of Benadryl (according to the instructions they gave me of course) until my body naturally overcomes it's escalated response to the medication. It was an EXTERMELY rough ride 5 days after starting on that antibiotic from CVS. I'm also not going to sit here and blame CVS for my body reacting the way it did to the antibiotic they prescribed me. Unfortunately situations like mine is how people discover their medication allergies.. For the most part that is. My family and I don't know what would have happened if I had finished that medication, while Completely unaware I was dangerously allergic to it. The people I saw at Lee's Summit's ER knew immediately what was happening and did what they could, and I will forever be grateful to them.. And of course from that visit I learned from my Doctor that not only was Cadista the lowest and weakest form of that steroid, but it was enough to inflame and amplify my body's reaction to my allergy, making it all that much worse.. I strongly suggest everyone I love and care about to seek care at Lee's Summit Medical Center ! o____o I'm glad I remembered to take a snapshot of the facility. I've certainly taken better photos than that one, but it's better then noth'n I suppose.

Most Doctor's don't listen or it seems they're just too busy and want to get the day over with. Or some doctors just think they know everything without even listening to the patients on what's best for them. Doctor Kyle Miller will hear you out. Ask you many questions. He will make sure your health's on track. He will give you answers with reassurance. Also the front desk receptionist are super cool too! I'm glad I came here! Thanks Dr. Miller and team!!!

I was sent to the…read morehospital via an ambulance in May while on vacation and chose not to have a battery of tests done and come home and see Dr Brown. I made an appt when I got home and it took nearly 2 months to get in. Today they call me while I am literally driving to my appt and say "sorry we can't see you today since you haven't been here in a while you're a new patient". I've had the appt for almost 2 mo the and they only figure that out 30 minutes before I'm supposed to be there? The right thing to do would have been to go ahead and see me but I guess this practice isn't interested in doing the right thing. The front and back office will ruin a Dr's office for you everytime. It's rarely the physicians fault. I will be finding a more competent office going forward. That is deplorable customer service. No one seems to want to do the right thing anymore sadly.

After 3 years apparently you're discarded and considered a new patient, and every PCP office I called within the Lees Summit and surrounding areas either aren't accepting new patients or they're not scheduling new patient appointments for a minimum of 5-8 months, leaving me without help after severely injuring my back, I was in so much pain, and I needed immediate care, so I made a same day appointment (on a Sunday) at NextCare Urgent Care is Lees Summit (off of McBaine Drive), and they exceeded my expectations in every way. First, you can make an appointment online, and they honor those appointments (no matter how many walk-ins are there before you.) In addition I have received exceptional care. I've been twice in the last 2 weeks, and have had to call in multiple times. They are always quick to respond and incredibly helpful. From the front desk (who is also the R.T./x-ray tech), to the nurse who was so kind, caring and helpful, to the Dr/FNP Thomas Sims, I have received excellent care. I cannot say enough great things about them. If you need immediate care (that doesn't require going to the ER) I encourage you to make an appointment with NextCare Urgent Care in Lee's Summit. You will not be disappointed.

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Mike Ausmus for 30+ years. He was wonderful. Over the…read moreyears, though, St. Luke's primary care became worse and worse. The bureaucracy became impenetrable. Patients could not schedule an appointment without waiting months - even in an emergency or when post-hospitalization checkups where immediately needed. Patients could not call their doctors. The Central Scheduling office that handles all patient communication knows nothing about medical care, always says it will be 5 to 6 months to get an appointment, even in an emergency. And, the Urgent Care office is notoriously horrible; even St. Luke's doctors recommend going elsewhere. Since Mike retired it has become infinitely worse. We received a letter telling us we'd been "reassigned" to another doctor - like cattle. However, that was not true. When we called to make an appointment for an urgent issue, we were told we did not actually have a doctor. We would need to schedule a new patient appointment - 9 months later. I scheduled new patient appointments for each member of our family, and the doctor cancelled some of them and did not show up for the others. It's been a year now, and our children have not seen a doctor. St. Luke's management has lost its way. By putting up all these barriers between patients and doctors, they are effectively committing malpractice. I would strongly recommend choosing another primary care office.

Then they wanted to reschedule for next year. Next year??? I thought they were joking. I asked then what assurances I would have if I rescheduled the appointment.
