I needed a haircut and decided to patronize an independent, local business rather than one of the soulless big chain stores. Lee's did not disappoint! It is a small but clean and efficient shop, located in a charming part of old Bountiful. Leah, the owner, told me that the store has been in business since the 1950s. I needed a fade with a trim on top - not a complicated haircut but definitely one that can be ruined. Leah did a fantastic job - she took her time creating a perfect fade without any lines or mismatched spots. She used a variety of different clippers and scissors throughout the cut, and she was happy to work on the blend a little more at the top when I asked her to. She completed the haircut by shaving my neck and sideburns very skillfully with a straight razor. She and her colleague were also very friendly and polite throughout. Best of all was the price - only $15! Many "boutique" barbers charge much more for their services. I made sure to give a healthy tip. I highly recommend Lee's and will definitely be back! read more

Brought my brother with Down's Syndrome in to get a haircut and beard trim. After 30 minutes of enduring old people swap hospital stories, it was finally his turn. In the past my brother has had to deal with very painful cystic acne on the back of his neck. It has since cleared up, but he has some pretty severe scarring from it. While cutting his hair, the barber lady just blurts out loudly, "WHAT'S THIS ON THE BACK OF HIS NECK???" I calmly informed her that it was scarring from the acne. Then she replies "THOSE ARE VOLCANOES!!! But I can deal with it if it's just scarring." I was in shock that she would say something like that. I was polite and didn't want to cause a scene, so we left promptly after she finished. However, if that lady is reading this, I would like to speak directly to you: Even though you might not think so, my brother could hear and understand EVERYTHING you said. He was embarrassed and very upset afterwards. How dare you humiliate him that way. I find it very ironic that while we were there today you mentioned that because your husband is a police officer he has to watch what he says, but you don't. That is absolutely false. The things you say have an effect and you lost a customer because of it. You should be ashamed of the ignorant and, frankly, moronic way you handled that situation. I hope you learn something about how to interact with individuals with disabilities in the future. read more
