They have their own dedicated parking lot behind the building. The studio is squeaky clean and I like that they have cubbies in the barre room so you can keep an eye on your belongings while you work out. The employees at the front desk are always incredibly welcoming. I usually attend with one specific friend and on our second visit, the woman at the front desk remembered us both by name. Now that's impressive. I have high standards for customer service at fitness studios because I work at one myself, and Barre Forte exceeds them. The classes are fun, challenging, and effective. They have plenty of straightforward barre classes on the schedule, but my favorite BY FAR is Barrebound, which is a combination of bouncing (aka rebounding) on mini trampolines, with barre exercises in between. It's a great way to get your heart working and log lots of steps and cardio, with full-body strengthening as well. The hour absolutely flies by and I forget I'm even working out because I'm having so much fun. Definitely try this class if you're stuck in a workout rut or just want to feel like a kid again while doing something great for your body!

The studio itself is visually stunning in a way that no other studio I've been to quite matches - and I have been to a lot of fitness studios. The weird details I like about Sankalpa are the microphone headset worn by the instructor and the water refill station next to the front desk. It's a little far of a drive for me (plus traffic) because of where I live, but if you can, definitely check out their variety of yoga, dance, and pole classes. The classes are taught by Maria Vazquez, a girl from Seville, Spain, and it starts with the beginners, where she teaches the beautiful Sevillanas and basic stuff. I find myself not wanting to miss any classes so that I don't miss what is the next step of the choreography that she is going to teach. They have also presented some awesome shows. They started in the general gymnastics class and are now in the dance/gymnastics combo-and they look forward to it all week long. The staff is fantastic, and I want to give a special shoutout to Jackie and Jo. They are incredible with the kids-engaging, kind, and somehow get a whole group of toddlers to listen and follow directions (which is no small feat!). We've also done a few Parent Survival Nights, and the kids had a blast. As a parent, it's such a good feeling knowing your kids are learning, moving their bodies, and having fun in a safe and welcoming environment. Highly recommend!

While we were looking and we found DAM dance studios and scheduled a phone conversation with JP. We immediately liked her and decided to do our first trial session with her. Coming to the dance studio we were very nervous because we are not dancers but JP was so kind and immediately settled our worries. We decided to book 10 lessons with her. Every lesson we did, we learned something new from forming connections, to inside/outside turns, to simple motions, JP was able to teach us everything. Not only that, but she was so kind and patient with us. She took each lesson at our pace and was encouraging us the whole time. By the end of our sessions our confidence grew and we were getting compliments from others about our huge dancing talent improvements. Because we started practicing early (1 year before the wedding) we were really able to space out our lessons and we had time to practice at home. That's something that JP was able to see and would always compliment us on. Our last two lessons focused on really perfecting our first dance and how to just dance during the wedding. I was very nervous about dancing in front of everyone and JP was able to completely ease those worries. Suffice to say we rocked our first dance and people were really impressed. We got compliments about it all night long and even after the wedding. The rest of the night I was out on the dance floor, pulling everyone else out too. Everyone had a blast and we had a full night of dancing. I would highly recommend JP to anyone looking for a dance instructor. She's funny, kind, talented, and an excellent teacher.
