Leeds station is currently undegoing a bit of a make over and there's a large section by the main entrance that's screened off while they get things finished. In the meantime all the platforms are still open as well as the ticket offices and information desk and almost all of the stores and cafes are still going strong. In terms of those stores and cafes they have what you might expect in most large stations; think Millie's Cookies, Upper Crust, M&S, Boots, Body Shop, WHSmiths and so on. Most platforms have at least one indoor seating area and some have cafes and vending machines too. This is a good thing, as it can certainly get a bit chilly on the platforms from time to time. It's quite a big station, with 17 platforms, many of them divided into sections. So if you're getting a smaller train, it's not likely to stop at all of platform 9 - it'll just be at platform 9B, for example. This is really handy because it means you know exactly where to wait and you don't end up legging it down the platform when you realise that only the front two carriages are actually going to go anywhere. The down side is that you can end up getting off the train very far away from the station exit when you arrive in Leeds.

Leeds station. It serves it's purpose relatively well. Over the years a reasonable amount of money looks to have been spent trying to keep the place updated. There are 2 separate departure halls. One is gloomy and horrible but the other has a nice Art Deco feel and is home to a Sainsburys and a Wetherspoon amongst others. Strangely, there's a Starbucks kiosk on the bridge between the platforms. Free toilets on the platforms which are relatively clean. The station operates an electronic barrier so you can only access platforms after buying a ticket.

Until that lottery win comes in though I'll have to settle for a fleet of Vespas. Whilst they are getting their service, it's back to the board and public transport ago. Leeds is pretty well covered on the main buse routes and West Yorkshire Metro are the main suppliers. Now we all grumble about the service and standard in this country but I have to say Metro aren't half bad. What I will rave about is the free city centre buses, excellent. Metro's freecitybus links Leeds' rail and bus stations, business and shopping districts, the General Infirmary, Universities and Park Lane College. Not half bad Jack, especially as they run every few minutes from 6.30am till 7.30pm. You'll also find plenty of buses taking you to the outskirts of the city. Particularly handy if you want to venture to the football at Elland Road or the rugby and cricket at Headingley. They aren't perfect, but hell what is these days. However, after a day hitting the shops or getting home from work you really can't slam the service they provide.

Bradford Interchange is one of two train stations serving Bradford's city centre. Bradford is such…read morean exciting city with so much money and investment being spent on it over the past few years to the point where it's now been awarded the UK City of Culture for 2025, it really does seem they've left Bradford Interchange behind. Bradford Interchange, as suggested by the name is a transport interchange station for bus and rail services, although to avoid confusion with nearby Bradford Forster Square, railway companies will refer to the station as a whole, as Bradford Interchange. In terms of passengers, Bradford Interchange is the most used train station in the city, ahead of Forster Square. The station is managed by Northern Trains and the West Yorkshire Metro (Owned by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority). The majority of railway services are served by Northern Trains, but Grand Central also provide services from this station. The station looks fairly unique from the outside due to the roof, which looks unlike most other train stations I've visited, however as you get inside it just looks and feels run-down and dirty, especially in the main square of the station. The platforms were fine, unlike any other station in a small city or large town across England. I used the station most recently on a trip from Hull, it was fairly easy to navigate the station from getting off the train to the exits, although it is fairly small so would be more difficult to get lost than anything else. A lack of staff around the station is also sad to see, the only staff member I managed to find across the whole bus and train station was a toilet cleaner. PRO TIP: Make sure you carry change if you want to use the toilet as they are not free, otherwise you may be able to gain access to the accessible toilet which does not require payment. Again, strongly against this, you shouldn't have to pay to pee... there's a lack of public toilets as there is and it is only going to encourage public urination, and just doesn't feel right to me. 2* - Certainly struggling from a lack of investment and has seen better days, while providing useful services into the city, and the location of the train station is in close proximity to all of the city's shops and tourist attractions, it just needs vast improvement.

Bradford Interchange seems like a forgotten little train station. It is almost completely sparse…read moreand it looks like the station has had better days. There's a Greggs, WH Smith and a small newsagent-y kind of shop here. Nothing memorable, nothing fantastic. There was a flower stand right outside for all tos elast minute gifts and plenty of taxis as you exit so great for making a quick escape from such a drab place. The carpark/drop-off area didn't seem very large and the station is actually a little hidden from the main part of Bradford. The metal seating was painted red but that's as colorful and warm as the station gets. Trains run frequently enough to Leeds, not sure why else you would need to come here.

It just upsets me when a new/inexperienced driver comes along, has no idea what so ever where we're going, fails to use sat nav and finally only knocks a mere quid off the fee for my lengthy journey. A bugbear of mine is taxi drivers not knowing where we're going. After all, that's what you expect of them. I know new drivers can't be an expert instantly but it helps if you know the area a little bit. As soon as I got in I told him that I couldn't direct him, as I'd never been to my destination before. I did know, however, that Armley was not in the direction of Meanwood. A sinking feeling arose in my stomach - does he even know the vague areas of Leeds?! Hrmph. I felt at that point the strongest longing for a smart phone I've ever had - oh to have the internet right then and there! Anyway. Long story short, I was 25 minutes late for my first ever physio appointment and so literally had ten-fifteen minutes with them and had to call another taxi home. Angry? Yes. Deflated? Yes. Will I call Ace for my next appointment? Doubtful. But I will call them for most everything else, since, they are usually very reliable. And, in spite of the odd new driver like this, they practically teleport to my front door when I call them. I do love you Ace, but we've had a bit of a tiff, so I'm giving you the cold shoulder. I'm sure we'll make up soon enough.

Pretty quick arrival, nice car and friendly driver. Good work on all fronts. We need to know which taxis can be trusted and on my brief encounter these boys won't let you down. I'm sure at busier times, they will of course have slower responses but I can only spread the word on my experience. If you need a taxi, don't call the Ghostbusters as that would be silly. Call Ace Cars.
